That's an easy pass from the Habs. Necas ain't worth 6th overall

Lavoie literally cleared waivers this year, of the Habs thought he had any value they would have taken him for free, not give up talent for him.
The rest is good, I still think they trade Matheson over Savard though

So you're getting more value for Karlsson this off season then they SJ got for him last season? I think you'll be disappointed in that assumption

let the good times roll
They'll never pay to move players as long as the cap isn't an issue, which it won't be for another 4-5 years.
Love to see Matheson and Savard traded but reality is that one of them likely stays as the grizzled vet of the group. That's likely to be Savard since they have less depth at RHD

The Boldy trade idea
I like Boldy, don't think I would even give up 6th overall for him though, especially if Demidov is still on the board.
Adding a B+ prospect, another 1st AND a top 4 dman is just delulu land

CL ain't making it that late in the draft
I'd rather hold off on going after a guy like Laine till the 2025 off season when the Habs should have like 20 million in cap space to spend in free agency.
Strategy should be to accumulate picks and prospects, using them only to move up in a draft and then using that cap space to make a big splash when guys like Ehlers, Buchnevich, Marner, Verhagee, Bennet, etc might be in FA

I'm really 50/50 on whether Pit would want that one quality of ick or try to restock the cupboard and take a bunch of assets for it.
If they want to sell it off this offer would definitely be inconsideration

Isles 2024-25
I think the Habs would pass. I like the potential in the deal but clearing the cap space from Dvorak, Savard and Armia next off season is more valuable then that potential in my mind. The cap space could make them major players in that FA and maybe be used to land a piece that makes a real difference

Next October with Rossi

Just because he played games doesn't give him more value. His play dictates his value and his play is shown to be a 4-6 dman and nothing more, that means he isn't worth a 1st

Neither trade makes sense.
Columbus says no to a late pick and Harris for a top 10 pick really easily rejects
And then turning around and giving up all that for Rossi? If you win a trade like that with Columbus you don't waste it on that return

I agree but Kakko also isn't worth that 1st alone, so it's not a return that will ever be in the table for him.
Also, I just saw what that other guy replied with, report him

But Binnington is the better player at his position than both Hamilton and Holtz, but since he’s a goalie he has less value. Also Faulk definitely has value. I would agree he’s not having the best season but saying he barely has value is a stretch.</div></div>
Holtz is a rookie so that's not the best comparison and Hamilton is a top 10 dman in the league when healthy, both are significantly better than Bin

Who is the better player
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>Necas is about to be signed longer than Caufield is, so has more control, and this is the only season Caufield has had comparable totals to Necas, let alone outproducing him. And it's not even a certainty Caufield will end the season outproducing Necas. Caufield has 5 more points in 4 more games. Necas can easily make that up, and let's not forget here, Necas is the better two way player, more complete player, and better skater.</div></div>
Necas plays in a better defensive system with better defensive players, he should be better defensively.
And let's not forget that Cole is still younger and is actually playing against other teams top lines and d pairs. He doesn't have the luxury of playing behind Aho, Guentzel and Svech.
Come back when Necas is actually the go to guy, not just a ride along player

If Binnington was on your team, NJD would be in playoff position. Understood not trading Hamilton but you are on one if you think there is a world where Holtz has more value than Binnington.</div></div>
Consider me on one then. Goalies don't have much value in this league and one with the issues Binny has is even less valuable, add in that Holtz is a former 11th overall pick that's been producing well at 5 on 5 and I'd say he's easily more valuable than Binny

We've already been through this man, all you did was cry about point pace and he's a better skater and then double down saying Necas was better than Caufield at everything listed as CC being better at.
Basic tenant in the league, the younger, better point producer, that's signed long term is more valuable than the other guy.
