I doubt Edmonton will be able to trade Manning for any picks; they put him on waivers last year and nobody grabbed him then.

TOR VAN WASH
Leafs say no. They don't need salary back, especially not Russell and Manning.
Canucks say no. They have enough bottom six forwards as is that they are going to have to buy out or bury some in the minors; they don't need another in Khaira who is not an incentive enough to take on the extra year of Lucic.
Sens say no, they are not taking on Gagner's deal for just a 6th round pick.
Capitals....I doubt it, I'd say Burakovsky could fetch them more.

Arizona Trade Suggested by Shmoeman
I like that Eakin trade, IMO could probably be done 1for1 given Vegas is the cap troubled team, the Isles probably don't have to add the 3rd.
Only concern to me is I have a hard time envisioning Gusev accepting a role on the 4th line. I'd say he would probably go back to Russia before doing that.

What to do
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dzad96</b></div><div>Schaller and Leivo at 3 is better than Reaves at 2.75... no? 2 players for the price of one basically.
Will admit, no idea who Gusev is and he hardly played last year so I didn't bother signing him.
I made some changes tho.</div></div>
They got Gusev's rights from Tampa in the expansion draft and signed him during the playoffs once his KHL season was over, Idk what numbers he put up in the playoffs, can't even remember if he played or not but I'd like to give him a chance to prove himself. Assuming he translates his game well from KHL to NHL, he is a top 6 winger, maybe even better. He tore up the KHL (<a href="http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=133881" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=133881</a>)
So with regards to your exercise, I would think Vegas wants to bring him back, putting more strain on the cap situation

That is just me though. I have a place in my heart for Perry.</div></div>
That's more than fair lol. I forgot he played for the Ducks, I thought he was traded to Sens from the Devils.

I think 18 Mil would be enough to sign the two of them; unless Hischier has a huge improvement in his performance this year, then its trouble.
But like <a href="/users/Jangle29" target="_blank">@Jangle29</a> said...Panarin is never going to Jersey lol so there should be no concerns

It is only a 1 year deal for Williams and Stralman. You got 2.5 mil in capspace plus the 10 million allocated towards those UFAS off the books. Add the 6 Hall is already making you got plenty of money to resign Hall and Hishier (18 mil)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sabres89</b></div><div>The value is fine, not really interested though. the sabres can swap out ullmark and hutton with another cost effective average goalie and im happy. I dont want to overpay a goalie on principle, but this particular sabres team especially needs to be using assets to acquire players to play in front of their goalies. And the guy the sabres seem to have pegged for goalie of the future is playing in the ahl this year (upl or ukka pekka luukkonen). Would be a pretty bad waste of resources by buffalo.</div></div>
Yea, that's a fair assessment. I think Samulesson could be a steady dman for them down the road and you'd get a solid prospect with the first.
I really like Luukkonen, it'll be interesting to see if he makes a push to crack the lineup or do what Hart did in Philly, make the team midseason

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Skyraider112</b></div><div>Funny how Hutton plays better than Quick and yet Sabres add to get him and his bad contract</div></div>
I'll admit, that one was the one I was conflicted with the most regarding fair value. I probably overvalue Quick in this....maybe LA could add more or Buffalo could remove a prospect, but here is my logic behind it.
I think Hutton showed, especially during the Sabres collapse that he isn't capable of being a #1 netminder and while Quick does have injury history, he is a winner, and one bad season on a horrendous LA team does not discredit his ability IMO, so I think acquiring him makes sense for a Buffalo team wanting to change their fortunes. Buffalo also has two NHL keepers and with Quick coming in with this deal I felt one had to go back the other way and I think Buffalo would rather keep Ulmark.

Vesalainen might tip the scales to Philly; but I personally like Trouba more than Ghost so that's why I'd say that, they are probably more even that I feel.
Niku or Appleton could balance it a bit better IMO.

That was something I have discussed with friends before. I agree though with Zwui21, he is a cap casualty, you can't be too greedy when trying to dump contracts. A package of picks would be sufficient IMO.

I'm thinking TB, Tor and Oil fit the bill. Maybe Detroit. But players need agree. But I'm having fun thinking of plausible scenarios. Realistic scenarios are very hard to find.</div></div>
Some of the ones that come to mind that fit your profile (No NMC, less than 3 years):
Cody Eakin, Vegas (3.85 Mil, 1 Year)
Erik Gudbranson, Pittsburgh (4 Mil, 2 Years)
James Neal, Calgary (5.75 Mil, 4 Years) Buy out the last year if he never picks up his play
Victor Rask, Minnesota (4 Mil, 3 Years)
Justin Braun, San Jose (3.8 Mil, 1 Year)
Sam Gagner, Edmonton (3.15 Mil, 1 Year)
Nick Bonino, Nashville (4.1 Mil, 2 Years)
Craig Smith, Nashville (4.25 Mil, 1 Year)

Sens - Seattle Expxansion Draft Project
If you're Ottawa, you do not bail out Toronto from the Marleau contract without at least a 2nd or Jeremy Bracco attached to the contract. You don't bail out division rivals that easily. Marleau would also have to approve of the deal for starters and I highly doubt he waives his nmc to go to Ottawa.
I'd say the same thing about the Tampa one. Callahan would be more inclined to waive his NMC because he probably just wants to play to prove his worth to save his career; but again, you don't take that contract on unless you get Taylor Raddysh, Alexander Volkov or at least a 2nd. IMO
Interesting thread concept though. I like it.
