Buffalo Sabres signed Victor Olofsson (2 Years / $4,750,000 AAV)
He probbaly leaves if Buffalo isn't contending in the next 2 seasons but it's a really good value contract

Not far off from his old deal. Not too bad, some injury concerns but I think he'll last this contract.

I did not expect this at all, good deal. Geno on year 4 probably doesn't do as well as his money will be but it's well worth it.

Really amazing in Chicago this season. Gonna be on a very cheap deal and could battle for an NHL role. I love this

(PHI/CAR) - 2nd/3rd/4th round pick for Deangelo + 7th round pick
A lot of my canes friends hate this move for some reason. TDA was a very good Dmen for us, but there's always someone out there. A fair deal IMO. I wish Tony well

Pretty fair, Washington moves up 9 spots and gets a 3rd. NJ gets a goalie that can actually save some pucks. Works out for both sides

He had a very good season.....but that's it. I don't really understand this. I guess the Ned train is over, I'd be shocked if they keep Ned. Sounds like they've had enough of his inconsistency. But, bad contract.

damn you're right, The best Mr. Irrelevant in NHL history? maybe. But anyways good deal, gonna help out the Wild a lot with their cap crunch.

(TBL/NSH) - McDonagh for Myers, Mismash
Wow, McDonagh is out of his prime but damn you'd think tampa could get a bigger return. They wanted cap space out of the this trade and they got it. I vote nashville as winners because they get a solid D, out of his prime but he's serviceable in the top 4.

CBJ overpaid for grit, and barley any grit at that. At least for Oliver it sounds like he'll be on the team. I doubt they paid a 4th just to send him to the minors, Nashville wins

(MIN/LAK) - Fiala for Faber
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>budgeteam</b></div><div>The time to trade Fiala and get a big return was last year. They chose to keep him. Maybe they shopped him, and didn't like the outcome.
They already have a winger making 9 million in Kaprizov. They are operating in an insane position because they have between 13-15 million of dead cap on the books for each of the next 3 seasons. The only other team with that much restriction in spending that is trying to win (and not rebuilding) is maybe the Senators who in the past have had a real money budget in the high 60s/low 70s. So they are in elite company there. They cannot afford to spend more money on wingers, and they need ELC talent to come in and play now.
They were dealing from an insane position of weakness. They had to take the best offer. They got a first, and a player who (I know nothing about) but anecdotally based on what other people who have seen him have written, should play on their bottom pairing soon. Given the crappy situation they are in, that is an acceptable return.</div></div>
that's all fair, but it's the wild's fault for putting their selves in that situation. They should've got a bigger return, but at the end of the day it's whatever.

love this contract for the kings, only downside is they're running out of cap space. So another move is definitely coming. This team is going to be so fun to watch next season.

(MIN/LAK) - Fiala for Faber
I'm not a fan of this for the wild, Fiala is a ppg guy and he gets traded for a mid 1st and Faber. I'm not familiar with Faber, but they had to get something else back to salvage this deal. I love this for the Kings, a perfect player for a true playoff push this season. LA wins but it's not a fleece imo.

yeah that's a good point, they have way too many goalies in their stockpile, out of all of them yzerman could sign he signed him.

(MTL/VGK) - Weber for Dadonov
I think it's a pretty fair deal, This gives vegas 5 mil in cap space and MTL trades a contract that they don't want to pay for. Dadanov only has a year left and they could easily retain 50% at next year's deadline or sometime during the off-season for some assets. Works out for both sides, but is also confirms that Weber will never play again (even though we already knew.)

I voted yes because he's only 25 and it's a whatever signing. 2 mil for a 3rd pairing D is not terrible nowadays. People compare this to Poolman, but he was 28 and Lauzon is only 25. Maybe this ages poorly, maybe it doesn't, not that much of a big deal

I say fair deal, only took a 7th rounder for a salary dallas doesn't need. This also helps out buffalo with the cap floor though, a pure money move trade.

Really good value, avoids arb and this keeps him a RFA. Also helps out a cap strapped dallas, Gurianov is banking off a good year I'm assuming.
