So kind of those teams to do those deals with Toronto out of the kindness of their hearts.

Ducks vs Kings prospect pool would you rather
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tkecanuck341</b></div><div>LA has the better prospect pool, and it's not particularly close.
At the top, the teams are roughly equivalent:
Byfield is a step above Zegras, but not by much.
Turcotte and Clarke are roughly equivalent to MacTavish and Drysdale.
After that is where LA starts to considerably outclass Anaheim. The second tier of offensive prospects includes the following guys:
LA: Kaliyev, Kupari, ****emo, Madden, Thomas, Bjornfot, Faber, Grans
Anaheim: Perreault, Zellweger
I left out guys like Simontival, Chromiak, and Spence that have been absolutely tearing it up in junior and international competitions due to their late draft positions, but those guys are looking like they will be quality adds as well. Everyone else in your list for both teams I would consider to be in a tier below the guys that I listed.
I will give Anaheim the edge in goaltending prospects, as Dostal looks like he could be a quality goaltender. The Kings best options in goal are Ingham and Parik, both of whom could turn into quality NHL goaltenders, but would probably be considered long shots.</div></div>
to be fair I feel like the Ducks second tier gets slept on hard, Thrun and Lacombe are both quality players along with Pastujov and Groulx

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NLidstrom</b></div><div>I think the Ducks have the higher end top two guys (Zegras and Drysdale >>> Byfield and Clarke personally) but the Kings pool looks a little deeper to me.
Detroit isn’t in bad shape themselves. Seider, Raymond, Cossa, Edvinsson - but we’re further out than LA/ANA</div></div>
I feel like Detroit is probably on pace with ANA, other than zegras and Drysdale the ducks have to let a lot of the other guys cook for a year or two, similar to detroit.

I did this last year to spark some discussion with some fellow socal hockey fans about the futures of these teams, and we came to seemingly two conclusions. 1. both teams seem to be building a pool of talent that can take them back to the playoffs, (the kings maybe about a year ahead), and 2. These teams will be great to see against each other in the playoffs in the future if we are lucky enough. The match ups are a mix of players with comparable playstyle, or projection, or narrative, or draft position, and obviously they aren't all perfect matches but its just for fun so whatever. also feel free to share who you think has a better prospect pool as a whole.
I would give the kings the slight edge

The issue with the Ducks trade stems from the fact that, if I’m not mistaken, not a single team has traded down from a top 5 pick in the cap era

Lindholm for 9OA is there a deal to be made
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Reason</b></div><div>It's definitely a possibility and I sure hope you are correct! I do like their core, I just have no faith in JB!
I do think they will be a playoff team possibly next year, more likely the year after, but I think they are 3-4 years away from competing with the likes of the AV's, TB, CAR etc.</div></div>
I think this team is gonna be somewhat like the Avs from a few years back, assuming smart decisions are made, where they are gonna prove next year they are a playoff team and shortly after start making noise in the post season. Maybe not to the extent that the Avs have but certainly not a team to sleep on.

Lindholm for 9OA is there a deal to be made
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Reason</b></div><div>It would be more appealing. I definitely think Lindholm is worth a first plus, however if VAN is going to trade their first I am not sure Lindholm is the best fit for the team. The team needs D improvements but would prefer right side upgrades.
Concerns fit wise for VAN from my perspective would be:
VAN is still likely 3-4 years away from contending which would be pushing Lindholm into his 30's and likely into a state of decline.
VAN is high on Jack Rathbone becoming a solid top 4 LD in the very near future. With Hughes also playing the left side, VAN hopes to be set in this position for years to come.
VAN traded away their 1&2 round picks last year and don't appear to have a lot of future players coming in on ECL's. If they trade away top picks for players without some form of team control on team friendly deals, they could continue to have cap issues long term.
Greater need for improvement on the right side.
All that being said JB tried hard to acquire OEL last year, a desperation move in my opinion, and he is likely going to be even more desperate to improve the team this year, so I could definitely see him having interest, I would think VAN would probably have to add prospect though.</div></div>
Thank you for the insight and perspective, although I think I’d like challenge you on your position that they are 3-4 years from contention, I follow the Canucks somewhat closely as they are one of my favorite teams and I honestly think that with some smart decisions they could be only 1-2 years away from being a threat. They have plenty of forwards that in 2 years will be effective top 6 players. Petterson Miller Hoglander Podkolzin Boeser Horvat. And A number of D that can be effective in 2 years. Hughes Rathbone Schmidt and if Hamonic and Myers can play like top 4 Dmen just don’t always do. They also have a solid goalie in Demko. I think a presence like Lindholm would catapult them to a somewhat guaranteed playoff position next year given the division. Basically to surmise the Canucks are lucky in the fact that their issues have really nothing to do with their young core. It’s just getting a bit of luck and fixing up their bottom 6 and improving their D a bit that needs to be worked out. I think this would cover the latter. And worst case scenario you could have a left side on defense that guarantees a solid Dman is on the ice at any given moment similar to Tampa’s model.

Also stuff like while he isn’t old he may not necessarily be in the right age window for the new core.

I think VAN would be better off to target a RD preferably a little bit younger and who has more years of team control.</div></div>
Theoretically Lindholm says he will sign a reasonable extension, does that make you cough up the pick and maybe more, Lindholm is certainly not young but he also certainly isn’t old and has a number of good years left in him

I feel like the deal is much more like the deal the Leafs got for Mizzin...2 prospects and 2 picks (not a first)</div></div>
The canes have been noted to pay for who they want as of late, and he would really solidify that bottom pair and help clean up some of the guys that like to hang around the net that Carolina has had a bit of an issue with. It would be an overpay but with two playoffs runs at least under current contract for Manson it is one that could pay off

Im gonna disagree with you Garland is the real deal, he is a young player who is well rounded and is snifffing a point per game on the Yotes while maintaining shooting percentages and the such that would imply he is actually slightly underperforming what should be expect of him, and he has a bit of nastiness to to him, imo he would edge out Nylander as 4th best forward on the Leafs if he ended up there
