Detroit definitely has the juice to create packages around pick #9 for Connor and pick #17 for Cat….
I think they’d rather use their draft selections though considering the quality in this years first round

3rd for Vladar seems generous, don’t see him fetching that. Wings paid a 3rd for Husso last year.. a superior tender. Also, giving too much for Debrincat imo.

Disagree. They’re not that far off. Winnipeg deal replace the Islanders 1st with Detroit pick 9 and add a 2nd. Sharks deal replace the picks with Islanders pick 17.

Bc you already have a 10 million dollar pass first winger?

Yep.. bc that trade was the point of this ACGM. Seider and Raymond will have to be paid after this year, so was searching for an expiring RD.

Buchelnikov is an absolute stud and won’t be traded. Excellent draft pick by Yzerman. Has the best high end skill of any forward in our system. Hoping he turns into our version of Kucherov, he’s that talented.

Boring comment.
Plus, both trades are clearly in the Wings favor getting the better player. They only happen bc both teams could have retools after disappointing playoff exits, and might need to move out some salary.

Bedard will play wing in the NHL.
No chance in hell Wings trade two first round picks plus Johansson for that ****ty contract hahahaha. Gross.
The Veleno trade is garbage too.
I don’t think the three active goalies should be a long term thing for this team either haha, unless NHL makes rule change across league.

Yeah maybe lateral wasn’t the correct phrasing for those players.., I sorta meant lateral in the sense that the Red Wings aren’t getting much better.
Teams won’t be lining up to take on Wheelers contract tho. He’d get a middling return with no retention, and I don’t think the trade value is off base if the Jets wanted to free up space

Zadina hurt, sure could come but to what 0 points in 9 games? I know he was drafted high but I would have to think his value is in the toilet. Just not enough value to me for the leading Norris candidate retained to $7.5 mil. Maybe San Jose retains $2.5 mil and gets a better piece in there and Arizona takes on $1.5 mil a year and get Zadina for it. Idk the Karlsson situation is a rare thing and tough to value.</div></div>
What sort of stuff? If you have some inside intel on Vrana the rest of us don’t please do tell. Otherwise, you’re probably off base.
Karlsson trade is tough to value, I agree.
I like your idea a lot about using Arizona as a third team.
Disagree with clicking on Zadina’s name, looking at the point total and coming to that conclusion.

Thanks. I agree that Vrana will come back and still be a 25 goal scorer. Plus, tradable contract if Sharks want to flip him.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>glarson17</b></div><div>That’s a whole lot of retention on the leading Norris candidate for…a useless Vrana, underperforming and hurt Zadina, a depth defenseman, 1 decent prospect and a 2nd.
How about no</div></div>
The idea was to creat flexibility for Sharks.
Vrana is quality and will be back.
Zadina got hurt blocking a shot and is soon to return… he’s not deceased lol. He won’t live up to draft status, but he’s 23, under control, and will still likely have a mostly useful NHL career, but needs new scenery.
I probably agree the offer could be improved. But disagree it’s as off base as you claim.
How would you improve the offer?
2nd to a 1st?

Your UFA signings are way too low. none of them are remotely close to what they will actually get.
David Pastrnak 7 x $11,500,000.
Dylan Larkin 8 x $9,150,000
Tyler Bertuzzi is 100% gone and wont be resigned.
Alex Nedeljkovic is 100% gone, And won't be resigned.
Olli Maatta signing looks about right, Should Yzerman resign him.
Jorden Osterle won't be resigned.
Oskar Sundqvist will be more in the 3 x $3,000,000 range.
Adam Erne is gone, Doubtful he's resigned.</div></div>
Not that great or interesting of a take..
Read the description.. I said Larkin & Pasta can get more.. but Yzerman said this is the way.
Oesterle was traded last deadline as an expiring throw in..
Disagree about Bert and Ned strongly..
And you’re actually off on Sundqvist market value..

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>4 1st round picks? Where? There is only 1. Velano and Zadina are not 1st round picks, they are young players who have not remotely lived up to their draft pedigree. Vrana is a decent middle 6 player with some value but only has 2 years of term remaining and you are trading him to a team that will almost certainly do a full rebuild. His value to Calgary is not that high at all.
This is a bidding war, you cannot lowball an offer here. There will be teams interested in adding a 24 year old 100 point 2-way power forward. This will play out very similar to Eichel where the best offer wins. Detroit would not stand a chance out winning the auction without one of Edvinsson or Kasper involved</div></div>
I disagree with a lot…
Detroit absolutely has enough assets to complete a trade without Edvinsson and Kasper...
Veleno and Zadina are good, they are young, they are under control…
I feel like this is more than the Eichel trade… but that’s fine if you value Tuch and Krebs more

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoreHitzSeider</b></div><div>Yzerman is trying to improve team defense. Klingberg doesn't help that. Spending 4.4 mil on a 3rd pair D doesn't make sense.</div></div>
I understand where you’re coming from and I definitely considered it when making this, but I ended up disagreeing… Mainly because of the two stud defenseman on rookie deals allows you the luxury to overpay a 3rd pair D at the moment…. And I actually think on a true contender Hronek might be on that third pair… which would mean a really strong D core…
Hronek might honestly be a little overpaid and better suited in a lesser role resigned to a lesser AAV.
