About right I think, jarventie and pinto are huge upgrades on Boucher, maybe throw in one of thomsson or JBD. To be fair its the reset EDM needs (besides moving Campbell)

Pinto was a rookie last year and had 20 goals. Pinto is a goal scorer and way way better defensively

TCMonkey, forgot to say this but yeah, Kastelic would 100% be claimed. He doesn't have the best start of season but he's intimidating and pretty damn good on faceoffs already, was Top-12 last season. He was good enough defensively too so he'd get picked up for sure as he is on a cheap contract too.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SevenLeg</b></div><div>Caufield-Suzuki-Harvey-Pinard

Pezzetta-Evans-Ylonen
There **might** be a room for Kubalik on 3LW and you bump Pearson and Pezzetta down, but again many players impressed enough in camp to deserve a call-up, instead of making a trade to "replace" Dach.
I'm aware this is under the assumption that Kubalik is dealt later, but Hughes does that kind of moves with free players (Pearson) or dumped players (Monahan, Dadonov). With three scoreless games, I don't see him being particularly excited to spend a pick on Kubalik. If he were free, maybe.</div></div>
Yes, Montreal might be able to get him for free if the market isn't too hot for him right now. Maybe Dorion is waiting a little for that (as injuries pile up) or maybe his pride is in the way (to not lose face even more on the DeBrincat's trade) but for that, nobody can help him with how many blunders he makes.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JeffGorton</b></div><div>Yes lets help a rival with their cap issues for absolutely nothing. Kubalik has negative value as long as the Sens cannot sign Pinto</div></div>
That's not how life works though. There's 32 teams and there isn't a 31 team collusion against one team. Teams will act based on their needs or what would benefit them (like selling Kubalik at the deadline)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ste_Catherine_Street</b></div><div>You can trade us Mathieu Joseph and Det's 1st round pick option for a Mtl 3rd round pick in 2025</div></div>
lol there's still people who thinks this will happen
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SevenLeg</b></div><div>Kubalik can't play center, so it makes him a pointless target.
Habs aren't buying rentals. If anything, they'd take him for future considerations. It's a risk to spend picks on someone just to trade him a couple of months later, hence why Hughes prefers trades like Pearson & Monahan.</div></div>
Suzuki-Newhook-Monahan-Evans are at center. Problems seems to be more on the Wing and PP
And you're "buying" a rental, you're using him to sell him higher later (trade deadline), unless you guys think Habs are not going to be sellers at the deadline?
That said, I'd be "ok" with trading him for a 7th, good AHL player or even FC if there is really no market for him (there's most likely one as teams always look for scoring depth)

Well Dach might be done for the season
Damn, I didn't realize that outside of Slafkovsky, most Habs players are already 23+. All of Sanderson, Stutzle, Greig, Pinto, Jarventie, Kleven are younger. Good news for the Habs is they have great talent in the pool with Hutson, Reinbacher, Roy, Beck and maybe several others.
Dorion hasn't done something to piss me off in months (well outside of this ultra ridiculous situation of having no plan after signing Tarasenko), so he better NOT trade Mathieu Joseph to Montreal.
Kubalik is an option you should consider, having another great shot after Caufield on the PP would help. He's not a great player but he does everything decently well and has that shot and particularly one-timer that he abuses like crazy lol
He would buy you some time and worst case scenario, if other young players emerge, you trade him at the deadline and get a better return than you'd pay now (maybe 2nd/3rd vs 5th now or something like that)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caufield</b></div><div>IMO, MTL will not trade for anyone, as I do think one of the guys I listed in MTL system will play ok in the top 6. However, if there was one guy I'd target, it might actually be Tolvanen. I have no clue if he is a right fit for MTL play style, but I feel like he would do pretty good with questionable depth at LW</div></div>
Tolvanen would cost a pretty penny though, like a good prospect and a pick. Unless I am mistaken in the picking order, I have no idea why Dorion didn't pick him on waivers last season. I know Tolvanen was going to better than believed in Nashville

Horrible trades for Ottawa.
Assuming this isn't a troll job from a Vegas fan:
- No need for Fedotov. Not touching Hart until scandal is resolved.
- Sens have had enough injury issues with centers. No adding Monahan, who's made of glass. Especially not at that price. We'll just sign Pinto as a 3C.
- If we're trading Brannstrom, it's for Pinto cap space. We have Kleven who's likely ready for the NHL, so no need for Zadorov.

He's been a 36/82 guy in his career so far. Will he get better yeah would it be nice to lock him up long term yeah but sometimes you just got to do what you got to do. Paying someone to take Joseph for example hurts you more in the long run possibly.</div></div>
Nice to see reasonable people here. You'll never be able to reason with the GMbriere guy.
My opinion, Pinto gets around 1.3-1.5 on a one-year deal.

The unfortunate thing is, while I agree Brannstrom is probably worth a 2nd, Chicago would also have to value him like that. And most likely at this stage in their rebuild, they’d take the pick over the player. Most likely would be 2 separate trades, Joseph + 2nd to Chicago, Brannstrom for a 2nd from whoever, although if they are able to dump Joseph I’d just keep Branny for the year and maybe look to move him at the draft if Kleven develops well this year.

Please keep their opponents in your prayers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>yeah, sens fans know all about never winning despite being one of the best teams in the league.</div></div>
From 1996-97 to 2007-08, Sens made the playoffs 11 years straight, won 8 playoffs rounds, one ECF and one SCF. There was also the 2004-05 season were they got robbed of having one of the best teams on paper in the whole decade. In their current window, Leafs made the playoffs 6/7 seasons and won 1 round (gotta be thankful that Tampa was exhausted by 3 SCF in a row). Not even sure the current Leafs window will last 4 more seasons. The only way the Leafs could do better (or even match) than the Sens 00's window is by winning the Cup. It is Cup or Bust
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>Korpisalo needs a strong defensive structure in front of him to be truly successful. He doesn’t have that in Ottawa. I’d be surprised if he finished with a .905 s%</div></div>
I agree but it's the same thing for most goalie who aren't Dominik Hasek or Roberto Luongo
That said, Korpisalo has been a lot better last season than in the past because his hip surgery was in March 2022. Surgeries can change a lot of things.
I also don't trust any defensive system coached by DJ smith but management/coaching is about to change in Ottawa (Thank Alfie)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsfan98</b></div><div>I’m sorry, but the 6-10 points out, the Sens were never going to get with or whiteout Norris and Talbot… And as for ADB, him and Stuzle are essentially the same play; they went to the same spots so it was bound for only 1, at best, to succeed and the other was doomed to fail… Which caused giveaways</div></div>
Did you say that ADB and Stutzle are essentially the same player? Sorry to say but you're proving that you don't understand hockey much.
So much wrong in such a small post. Talbot was not missed, he was a detriment most of the season. Norris was deeply missed though and they also had lost Formenton for off-ice reasons. Dorion stupidly traded Connor Brown which made the bottom-6 really bad but Formenton and Norris would have made a HUGE difference
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TCMonkey</b></div><div>What a ridiculous statement. Norris had 35 goals in 21-22 and was OTT's first line center. Last season OTT lost a majority of their games by 1 goal (or 1 + an EN). Of course having Norris back would easily have added 4+ wins over their 82 games. As for your Stützle / Debrincat comment ... was that written by an A.I. program that wasn't given access to hockey logic?</div></div>
I have a hunch that the guy thinks Stutzle is still playing LW because he is listed LW on NHL.com and hockeydb.com :tearsofjoy
