Nashville Blockbuster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ritzy</b></div><div>I guess it all depends on what NSH's intentions are moving forward. Are they tearing down? The no Reilly isn't really all that useful as they can trade Ekholm and Forsberg separately and get multiple picks and prospects combined from both deals.
If they still intend on competing, maybe Reilly is useful. But they are still trading one UFA D-man for another (yes skill levels are different) and it turns into Kerfoot and Amirov for Forsberg with retention. I don't believe that is enough.
Could be wrong, just my 2 cents.</div></div>
I think you both make good points, I guess both team's intentions with the players really hold up if the deal makes sense

Can I ask why you think so? I like the idea of a more banging 4th line, Martin has a good relationship with some of the players already, Engelland is solid defensively and tough IMO would work well with a young Sandin. I think we would have guys who are capable of contributing but also have other teams not thinking they can walk all over us.

Leafs Post Trade Deadline 2019-20
I really don't like the idea of moving Hyman, that guy plays with his heart on his sleeve and is arguably the hardest worker on the team. Can be used for almost any scenario. Although numbers may be comparable to others, guys like him don't come as often as we may think

Backup Goalie Upgrade
Honestly if I am the Leafs I sit and wait to snag Tampa's cut from their roster, if they don't trade that's likely McBackup or Domingue on waivers

More in the sense of where is Ceci best playing, my guess is not alongside Rielly

There are a lot better things we can do that trade Hyman, you have seen what Dubas can do, this is a sub-par suggestion at best

Even so, there was 3.5 in cap space left over so it could be done

I like the Ottawa trade because Melnyk is a cheaper bugger and if he got word he'd love it.
On the other hand I really don't think the amount going both ways in the Carolina one is necessary. Jeremy Bracco is likely to make the team and for cheaper than what McGinn would cost. It would likely be better long term to try and bridge Kapanen and try to cut costs by moving Brown.
Lastly, I don't really see the point in signing Hainsey either. Babcock loves this guy and I don't want to see another year of this guy playing top line. I think you'll see Rosen slide in the bottom pair and we can have Borgman come in and out of the lineup.

Fair observation and I could totally see it happening. I appreciate the constructive feedback and not just bashing. The other thing too is there can totally be surprises in kids coming up and playing well. Which with the depth and AHL team we have is also totally foreseeable.

Was more of a filler with a decent possible upside. I get what you're saying. I just figured a bottom 6 player would be signed and centers were the most open slot.

I think you're on the right track in regards to the direction but like you mentioned the values you off. Granlund is worth a lot more than that and I would say Tanev is overvalued for what is given up. Although Tanev's capabilities at times may be worth that the guy has been hurt for like a third of his career.
