It's weird because he really didn't do that after Stewart got his cup of coffee this year. He trusted the young guys and for the most part, they delivered. hoping he goes back to it

I'd be fine with this too and its certainly more realistic i'd guess too

PHI EDM VAN DAL trades
It'd be a hard no from Philly. I like Kapanen but Myers is oozing with potential and is their only RD under 30 years old

unrealistic offseason
I have no idea how much it takes with the NHL. After the NFL draft this weekend I'm in an arm and a leg mode to move up but if we could keep simmer or trade him for something else and get the rest of this to happen, I'd be thrilled

yeah I don't disagree on Wahlstrom lol he's just the exact goal scorer off the wing the flyers need

My lineup for 2017-18
Weal and Simmer were linemates essentially the entire time he was up and their time was split between Filppula and Giroux but agree to disagree. I'm pretty open to the wingers being flipped throughout the top 6 anyway.
I hope you're wrong about Macdonald and Provorov and I think we may dodge that bullet because Hakstol seems to like to stick Mac with whatever rookie is playing (ie Ghost in 15-16 and Provy last season)
Also Trust the Process

My lineup for 2017-18
That first line was fantastic once Weal was brought up last year and was probably the best G looked with anyone all year
The second line was solid until Coots got hurt and then they never really clicked again. I think it's worth looking at but flipping Weal for Konecny or Jake for Simmer would be fine with me too. Also Lindblom could find his way into the top six.
Macdonald has no business getting twenty minutes a game and Gudas has been the second best defenseman since he got here so that's more of a hope and prayer that he supplants AMac on the depth chart.
The reason I like the lineup like this so much is that all four lines should drive play and the players could complement each other well.

Three Way trade with Ducks and Lightning
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bdinella</b></div><div>So you are essentially trading Sanheim, Laughton, a 2018 1st and a 2019 2nd for Drouin and 2018 4th. That is a steep price</div></div>
Right which is why I assume Hexy passes. The picks would probably all need some adjustments.

I like the majority of this but I wouldn't sign Elliot. I'd keep Neuvy before that and definitely resign mason before him too. He was God awful last year and I just don't think I'd want him

Team Girouin
I think you're giving up too much to get rid of Macdonald. Laughton or a second pick round alone should be enough, I'd imagine (I don't think a second rounder is worth it honestly). I think if we eat some salary he'd be moveable with us getting a late pick which I think could be worth it. I would love to get rid of him and get Drouin for sure though.

Getting Younger (no blow-up)
Sandstrom is staying in Europe and I figured with the hip or knee surgery or whatever, they'd probably end up wanting him in LV for one my year but yeah originally, that was my thought too

Let the kids play
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>phillyjabroni</b></div><div>On the one-way contracts, since they exceed 925k AAV, we dont have as many rights to send them down to the AHL without clearing Waivers. I would want to sign them to max, two-way AAV, before giving them one-way contracts.
I only want Weise since he has chemistry with Schenn and Couturier. Mason can play here for 2-3 years until Hart takes over.</div></div>
Ohhh gotcha, I actually never knew how they worked, but I'd be fine with that change. I get what you're saying with Weise but I think he regresses at some point. I see him as at best a good fourth line play driver who can step up into the third line for injuries.

Would You Do This?
Out of all the ones involving big trades for the Flyers, I actually don't hate this one. I would just keep coots and have Vecchione as the 4th center and as you said, neither Buff or Winn would do this. Long run don't think acquiring guys like Alzner and Fowler are necessary since Provy almost definitely doesn't get traded and P Myers looks like the real deal for a right handed d man

Let the kids play
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>phillyjabroni</b></div><div>I dont agree with the signings, primarily since they would have to be one-way contracts. I would rather buyout MacDonald then retain his salary. Overvalued Raffl (he is more like a 5th-7th round pick) and I would hang on to Weise to play with Couturier and Schenn. Would also want to see Mason back instead of Neuvirth.</div></div>
Retaining Mac's salary and trading him is a much shorter investment (3yrs vs 6yrs) than buying him out and the cap hit would only be about 700,000 more and would be coming off the book right as a bunch of our young guys would probably be in line for raises.
What would you do if you don't like any of those signings? Let them walk because they'd be one way? I don't get what you're saying.
I don't trust Weise to produce over a whole season and if we could move his term +cap hit I would do it for sure. I agree with Mason vs Nuervy but I guess I just deided it looks like that ship has sailed.

I'd be fine with that too. I'm just a big believer it getting some of the youth up. I'm probably a little biased because I've seen like 10 Phantoms games live this year and there is so much potential on that team.

Realistic Flyers Roster
Bellmare shuts down nothing. He and Vandevelde sit in the defensive zone every shift and literally bring nothing offensively. They're fringe nhlers at best and I'd much rather bring up youth with actual upsde. Lots of 20 year olds struggle on defense, doesn't make them busts. But agree to disagree.

Realistic Flyers Roster
I disagree. Laughton is 22 and has been very good in the AHL this year. He struggled at times in the big league last year but I think he'll bring way more than Bellmare who is an alright penalty killer and a nothing offensive player. They've been grooming Laughton for a shutdown role this year on the phantoms and so he could bring more offense while also contributing defensively.
