Stephenson may fetch 6m a year. I believe you are quite short on him.

what is the cost for liljegren
Late 1st will suffice. So this deal makes sense. Any less and I predict Toronto just keeps him.

Leafs shouldn't trade for the 3 worst years of Faulks contract. I am sure he is an upgrade but not worth the cap for that long. Would rather keep Lily.

Several very serviceable players will be healthy scratches come playoff time. Good depth. That's for sure. Missing 1 higher end RD talent though but depth is nice.

Value is fine but I don think the Leafs pass based on Carlsons age. I would rather keep Lily + our 1st. There are a few really good RD options in FA this year. Roy, Pesce, Demelo, Walker to name a few.

Leafs gladly pass on that. We need to strengthen our RD. Not make it worse. If you want Lily you better be willing to part with the Pittsburgh 1st.

is Hronek worth more than Hanifin
They are similar. I give the edge to Hronek since he is a RD.
Personally I have traded for both at different times (to the Leafs) and signed them to a 7.25m x 8 year deal. I was 100k off on Hanifin. Anywhere between 7.35m-7.5m x 8 years would be reasonable for Hronek in my mind.

IF we got swept, I would consider it.
1st + Big Defensive RD on a good contract + BIg Middle 6 Centre on a good contract + 1st round pick prospect from a few years back + another prospect and we get cap space. Lots of it.

Potentially. We live in a viper ridden, pitchfork happy, society though. So even if he is let off, he will have a hard road back to the NHL. Time will tell! I hope the truth wins out in the end and whatever justice needs to be done is done. If he is innocent, I hope he gets a proper shot back at the nhl. :)
Maybe 1 year x 4m for Sammy then?

Definitely missing some super star power up front. Sucks about losing Gauthier. But I hope Drysdale pans out. Seems like a super great kid. Michkov will be a great add when he is ready also. Still missing a bit here in my mind, but all 4 of those lines can hurt ya and the d group looks solid. I really like Torts also.
Anyways, this team contends again for the playoffs next year and would have a better chance.

Anaheim says no. But why are the Leafs trading for Zegras? We need to upgrade our D. Not get another potential star forward. Would rather keep Domi and/or Bert and upgrade our D group. Demelo gets more as well. He is having a monster year.

I would love to resign Bert and Domi but it makes it very hard to upgrade the D and stay under the cap when doing that.
You would need to trade Jarnkrok and Kampf and run a 21 man roster to make it work.

PLAYOFF LINES
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aadoyle</b></div><div>Nah Brodie again has started to become an issue defensively he's starting to miss assignments or not be where he's supposed to. Hes creating plays here and there but in the Dzone has been caught chasing or not been where needed to often in last 5 games.
Leafs best games actually came with
Rielly-Bush
Benoit-McCabe
Edmundson-Lily
Edmundson's has to be in game 1. His net front clearing presence and ability to play playoff hockey and annoy other teams stars is what we need
We saw it in the EDM game he made McDavid and Draisaitl miserable
Rielly-Bush
Benoit-McCabe
Edmundson-Lily
That should be game 1</div></div>
Should... I agree with you. Will Keefe do it? I doubt it.
Time will tell. Either way we have a lot of good depth options.

Bertuzzi — Matthews — Domi has been good and are just getting better as the games go by
Holmberg has also made a very strong case to stay as the 3c
I think what we saw last game is the lines minus Jarnkrok for Reaves on the 4th line
Dpairings be the only ? rn besides
Benoit-McCabe
Rielly-Lybushkin</div></div>
Leafs were at their best with:
Rielly-Bush
Benoit-McCabe
Brodie-Lily
I know Edmondson is huge and would look good beside Lily. But Brodie is playing well again and Keefe loves Brodie. I think they go with that 6 to start. Edmondson gets in if we have a few bad games though.

Not a wise move
TOR has finally divided up the scoring threat to 3 lines. No need to move anyone around
Once Jarnkrok comes back Reaves comes out
Holmberg stays at 3c and Robertson is on standby
Bertuzzi — Matthews — Domi
Knies — Tavares — Marner
McMann— Holmberg — Nylander
Dewar — Kampf — Jarnkrok</div></div>
I agree with your lines. These are what I would do. I was just suggesting what I think Keefe does.

Fitzy is the Problem
New Jersey still has one of the best young cores in the league. It's definitely a shock that they miss the playoffs this year but they will get back to it next year. This team is far from ruined.
If they can get a starting goalie. Healthy Hughes and healthy Hamilton. This team looks quite good. Nemec and Luke Hughes (and holtz and Mercer) being 1 year older would help a ton also.
At least you still have your 2024 1st. You get another good prospect and go at it again next year.

Habs Trade 1OA
Neither team does this. Montreal shouldn't sell the future for 1 year of Crosby. They aren't there yet. Letangs contract also goes until he is 71.
Pits probably wants more or remove the cap dumps going back. But Montreal shouldn't trade the 1st overall for 1 year of Crosby.

That's my top end offer for Kovacevic. I have made that exact offer from the Leafs side of things a few times. Fellow leaf fans disagree. I think he provides a lot of value at under league min. So from the Leafs side, I would highly consider. Depending how the rest of our off season is going.

PLAYOFF LINES
Rielly + Lily has not worked yet to this point in time. Jarnkrok hasn't really played C for the Leafs.
I doubt these are the lines.
I assume the D will be:
Rielly-Bush
Brodie-Lily
Benoit-McCabe
with Edmundson on standby.
Forwards are harder to predict but maybe:
Bert-Matthews-Marner (I think they go back together)
McMann-Taveres-Nylander
Knies-Domi-Jarnkrok
Dewar-Kampf-Reaves
Holmberg and Robertson on Standby.

I would probably keep Lyubuskin in and take out Rielly or McCabe. Whoever needs the rest the most. But I agree to getting Gregor and Robertson some reps in for tonight. I would make take Knies or Holmberg out instead of Dewar. I feel like Dewar could use a few more reps. But either way. We will see what they do!

Yeah are forwards have been healthy, and then the added bonus of Holmberg, McCann and Robertson have shown they are NHLers. Kinda of my thinking that's why Bertuzzi isn't a Leaf next season for cap reason, and Leafs use that cap for needed RHDs.</div></div>
I agree - I love Bert and would love a scenario where we keep him, but it's unlikely. Kampf and Jarnkrok would both need to be moved.
So I really like this option the best.

Important years for Minten, Cowan, Niemela, Hildeby, Quillen. Leafs are really hoping they are NHL capable in 25/26. Sure would help with the cap and nice to young NHLers with potential instead of constant signing of fading 30 year old NHLer.</div></div>
Leafs forward group has been generally very healthy all year. So we never really got to go through much of our depth. Unlike our d group. I am sure Steeves still has NHL potential but I am sure he is itching for a proper chance at this point. So we will see if he even signs with the Leafs.
