new goalie same headache
I don't think we see any of those 5 players playing in the NHL next year. It will take time for the trial to happen. If he is proven innocent, then I hope he gets another shot at some point. Time will tell how things go! But I expect Hart will not be available next year.

Just don’t see how we fit both unless we sacrifice too much somewhere else. Don’t have the answer so maybe your idea of moving Kampf (or Jarnkrok) is the better solution 🤷🏻</div></div>
Yes I assume we don't bring back Bert also. BUT I really like him and want to bring him back. I like Kampf and Jarnkrok a lot but I would rather keep Domi and Bert than those guys. This trade means zero disrespect to Kampf. I got 2 mid picks back for him for a reason. I am very happy keeping Kampf also, I will just be sad losing Bert.

You need a good work truck, not a sportscar. Of course you can never have too many centers, but first of all he gets more than that, and second of all, Buffalo has bigger problems than filling 3C. Better to spend 6.5 million on an actually viable veteran 2RD, for example.</div></div>
"Better to spend 6.5 million on an actually viable veteran 2RD, for example."
The OP also did exactly just that as well. He signed DeMelo as the very viable veteran 2RD...
In this scenario Buffalo would run 3 lines ALOT. If they have any injuries they have depth. They can also play a guy like Lindholm on the wing also .

Improvement
Pitsburgh needs to get younger, I don't see this trade making sense for them. They do need a defensive minded RD though, so in that regard it works, but trading picks and prospects for an aging guy doesn't.
They may be interested in a guy like Barron though.

DeMelo and Lindholm would be great adds here. Especially if it were only 1-3 years for Lindholm. I think he gets more on a 1 year deal though. Either way, I think this is well done!
I assume Deharnais gets more than this also. But you can definitely get a big, physical, bottom pair, defensive dman for that money.

Adding Lindholm to a 1 year deal to help support Cozens and Thompson would be a great move. I assume he would get 8m+ if it were only a 1 year deal though. Having too many good centres is not a problem.

Dewar would need to stay in, in my mind. I would personally take our Reaves. But Robertson coming out is the most likely option.

Definitely not. You are constantly saying you need at least 1 very good defensive bottom 6 forward. Kampf is that. He would free up your young stars quite a bit.

Breaking up Bert-Matthews-Domi doesn't make sense at this point.
I assume they rock the exact same lines unless McMann and/or Nylander are back.

Lindholm isn't a 3C. And it's only 2 years. He would help support and shelter McTavish, Carlsson and all the young guys quite nicely. I think this would be a great signing for both parties. This doesn't hamper Anaheim long term and would really strengthen their team in the short term.

I actually think this is really well done. I am not too sure about the ST Louis trade but everything else here would be great. (7 years max for Roy, unless they trade for his rights).
2 years x 8.5m for Lindholm would be super interesting. He will help support McTavish, Carlsson and all their young guys a lot, without hampering their cap long term. I assume Lindholm would consider this contract as well. Maybe a 3rd year is needed.
I really like this top 9 and d group.

Leafs shouldn't trade for the 3 worst years of Faulks contract. I am sure he is an upgrade but not worth the cap for that long. Would rather keep Lily.

Several very serviceable players will be healthy scratches come playoff time. Good depth. That's for sure. Missing 1 higher end RD talent though but depth is nice.

Value is fine but I don think the Leafs pass based on Carlsons age. I would rather keep Lily + our 1st. There are a few really good RD options in FA this year. Roy, Pesce, Demelo, Walker to name a few.

Leafs gladly pass on that. We need to strengthen our RD. Not make it worse. If you want Lily you better be willing to part with the Pittsburgh 1st.
