I agree he does know how to score and quarterback a power play........But watch him more closely this year......and you will soon realize he a terrible defender.
There is a reason that Colorado and Toronto both let him walk.......and why Edmonton elevated Bouchard ahead of Barrie to quarterback the team's powerplay and now trying to move him.

Dubas has upgraded the Leafs Energy 4th line and brought in superior money goalies even though the Toronto Media doesn't appreciate both Murray and Samsonov.

LEAFS POWERHOUSE CUP WINNING SEASON STARTING LINE-UP
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Buffalove</b></div><div>All the regular season wins are nice, but the Post-Season is what counts though
U can’t be a “powerhouse” if you’re never a threat to even contend for the Cup</div></div>
This is the Leafs year......and I have been following them very closely and thay have been steadily taking baby steps to get it done in the playoffs.
Losing to Montreal in 7 games was the result of losing Tavares and Muzzen in the series and not having a shut down 3rd line and great energy 4th line and running into a hot Carey Price.
Losing to Tampa in 7 games was the result of weaker goaltending by Campbell, a couple of bad breaks and terrible refereeing in game 6..
The Leafs actually outplayed both Montreal and Tampa in both 7 games series......and now Matthews, Marner, Nylander and Rielly are highly motivated to end the playoff series drought......Going to be a great year to be a Leafs fan........and sure you will want to join the party as well and become a Leafs believer in the team.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mr_Canoehead</b></div><div>The new goalie coach has his work cut out for him.</div></div>
He is coaching two former starting money goalies who have won a lot of games in the National Hockey League and are both highly motivated to perform great..........so should not be too hard of job for the new goalie coach........Leafs goaltenders are going to prove you wrong.
In reality, Campbell had one of the worst high danger shot goals against in the entire NHL.......and yet Leafs still finished 4th overall in the entire NHL with mediocre goaltending........This is going to be a great year for the Leafs.

Great trade to unload Tyson Barrie......one of the worst defenceman at actually playing defence in the entire NHL.......The NHL should make a new rover position for Barrie.

I think Justin Holl is a much better defenceman than you are giving him credit........and his development into an NHL defenceman is an incredible story after being virtually benched an entire NHL season by Babcock........ but refusing to give up on his dream and continuing to work and practice during the season and an entire summer to come back and make the Leafs the following season.
Have nothing but respect for this hockey player and wish him all the best in the future.

LEAFS MAY HAVE A HIDDEN GEM IN ALEX STEEVES
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>Your "scouting report" was nothing like palhal's comment, dude. This talk about how he has blazing speed and a pinpoint laser are wildly exaggerated. Steeves has offensive skills, for sure, but he's also small-ish and his initial stride ain;t the strongest. Even Toronto-based writers (at real outlets, not THW or something) have him listed below their top 5-6 Leafs prospects right now.</div></div>
You should be careful to not believe everything the so called Toronto-based media writers write as there are much more knowledagble hockey minds that those guys.

You might want to read the comments about Alex Steeves from Palhal on this post who is probably one of the most knowledgable viewers on CapFriendly with his 15,662 likes if you think my despcription is all fantastical.........He is going to be starting on the fourth line because that it where a good young player should be starting.
Bunting actually played some fourth line shifts last year on the Leafs........until Keefe continued to elevate him up the roster and finally to the first line with Matthews and Marner because he earned his ice time like Steeves is going to do as well.

The Leafs have no interest in a player with his inflated ego who always thinks the grass is greener on a different team..........First, he doesn't like playing in Columbus, second he doesn't like playing in Winnipeg and third he won't like playing for his next team.

Do you understand that Kampf, Engval, Jarnkrok, Abue Kubel, Kerfoot, Robertson and Gaudette are part of the bottom 6 which is an outstanding group of players.

Canucks have blown their chance to trade Miller for huge package.......Stand Pat Allvin and Retired Rutherford are out to lunch and now planning to keep Miller to avoid critism from media on making a bad trade.
