From an unannounced trade that didn't even happen?
Also moving down from 7th to 16th is not a "top ten pick" its moving down 11 spots which is what Toronto did for Mrazek.

Wow I just came here to make jokes on the title but holy jeez dude this is really well done especially given the degree of difficulty of 3 way trades
My one qualm is I'm not high on podky
But being able to flip Smith for a 1st helps a bunch

Sanderson and Pinto are actually going to be the Sens best players down the road (after Stutzle). I know people think Chabot, Tkachuk and even Norris/Batherson but they are even better
I have hard time betting against Chabot though, I have followed him since his Q days, the guy has ice in his veins. IMO, when Sanderson joins the team is when the team start rising.
I call them The Magnificent Seven™ : Chabot, Sanderson, Stutzle, Pinto, Tkachuk, Norris, Batherson
The thing is the Sens could also have a really great supporting cast with Connor Brown, Alex Formenton, Nick Paul, Ridily Greig, Egor Sokolov, Jacob Bernard-Docker, Tyler Kleven, etc

Changes things massively for them. Blue line was a big factor on the cup run in 2018 and they want that back it feels like after the 2 trades

Says the guy who doesn't actually want to talk hockey at all and insults his fellows and fan-base. If anyone is toxic on this site, it's you. People don't login to be berated by "sensible" people.
Sensible: (of a statement or course of action) chosen in accordance with wisdom or prudence; likely to be of benefit.
I see none of this definition in your namesake.

You seem destined to defend this ACGM regardless of common sense. Respond to me again with your nonsense and I'll just put you on ignore. I'm here to chat about hockey, not feed your ego that you somehow came up with a bright idea, and now you're butthurt that it wasn't universally applauded.</div></div>
Engaging in discourse and disagreements are a part of this site wether you like it or not. I disagreed with you, so you want to ignore me? Listen I like your POV sometimes but this is hilariously hypocritical.
I will defend my posts because that’s what this site allows me to do, engage in discussion with other armchair GM posts.
You made a post about the ability to use this site no too long ago, no? So let us engage in discourse and talk about why you think Soucy is better than all listed above?
Would Soucy be worth a 3rd and Mete?
Would Reilly or McCabe even want to sign in Canada?

Johnson Petterson Hakanpaa Granlund
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>I feel like Seattle will want more than just a 1st to take Johnson (Or in this case, the worse player, Zaitsev). Tampa's 1st is at the bottom of the draft, and they're handcuffed when it comes to shedding salary. Seattle is in the enviable position of being able to do whatever they want. Obviously Ottawa is similar, but Melnyk has proven that he's typically going to go out and Melnyk, amirite?
If Seattle doesn't get a 1st+either prospect or someone like Killorn (Which would further help the Bolts), then they will have had a massive missed opportunity.</div></div>
Zaitsev can play 22 minutes a night. Seattle is going to struggle to find defencemen who can play the hard minutes while they tank for the first few years. Seems like a 1st is decent compensation for a contract that really is only like a $1.5m overpaid.
I imagine Seattle picks up a decent forward from Tampa via expansion anyways and this would be a three way trade. Killorn has value. Johnson doesn't. Seattle can end up with Killorn + Zaitsev + 1st.

RHD help in offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Duggysdanglers</b></div><div>Who should the Sens take at the Draft?</div></div>
I am thinking Guenther, Clarke, or Beniers are the organizational need. I dont think they need another high end LHD. That being said, Best Player Available is never a bad way to go if they feel like Power, Edvinsson, or Hughes is better than all the rest.

I really like Thompson, and I think he's going to have a big season. Not to discount JBD, but I just think that Thompson has more offensive upside in the NHL. I think they'll both be top 4 for Ottawa.
Also when it comes to Davidsson, I'm not even sure if he will play in the AHL this season. I think he has a good chance of making the NHL squad right out of camp.

Nor should you. I wouldn't either. It was my SUPER unrealistic counter-offer to the original SUPER unrealistic offer. Formenton and a 1st round pick in one of the deepest drafts in decades for a 32 year old D man and an "okay" prospect who'd be playing outside of top 6 in Belleville this year? When I see trade offers like this I like to counter-offer this way in hopes of meeting somewhere back in reality.

For the record, I don't want Georgiev.</div></div>
he has 8pts in 18 games not even playing with talented guys plus some of those games were in the beginning of the season when he was still getting his feet wet. hes been great since he got called up. I think his floor is Kapanen and his ceiling is a 1st line winger
