Why on earth do Red Wings fans think they're gonna get cat for Kubalik and an 2nd lol?

Goalies are voodoo. And I wouldn't exactly call Cossa's first pro season extraordinary. Regardless, Ottawa has no need for him.

Personally, I'm not a fan of signing those UFAs. Especially to multi-year deals. If it's a one-year deal at a reasonable cap hit, I wouldn't mind. But I doubt they will sign something like that. I also just think Detroit fans are overvaluing Berggren in general. Ottawa would only have 3 years of control over him as he's already 23, and I just don't think he becomes anything more than a 40ish point winger. Just my opinion haha.

That would be fine by me. People are clearly not seeing Brannstrom's value and overvaluing Berggren.

I guess I'm just not that high on Berggren. I would also rather have Branny than Rasmussen.

DeBrincat Value Down
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dtd_tank</b></div><div>I would have agreed with you a few weeks ago, but Dorion has seriously backed himself into a corner on this one, with ADB's help. ADB controls his fate since he'll only sign long-term with a few teams, and not all of those teams can even fit him from a cap perspective. Dorion should have pulled the trigger on a trade for ADB well before now, when I think he would've gotten a slightly fairer valuation. At this point though, he's got roster spots to fill and a majority of the FA class has already signed. He just needs to move ADB to progress his roster.</div></div>
Fair. But at this point, if we're trading him for peanuts I would rather just keep him on the roster.

DeBrincat Value Down
Let's assume the market is roughly what LA paid for Dubois. So a middle 6 forward with a decent cap hit (Iaffalo) could be Kubalik or Fabrri, a young(ish) player with upside (Vilardi) could be Berggren, a B/C level prospect (Kupari) and a 2nd round pick. Now, I do think Dubois' value is higher than Debrincat given he's a big centre. But by how much? He'll be earning roughly the same money assuming 8-8.8 mil. I would have to think that Debrincat's value as of now is something along the lines of 3 assets (Roster player, decent prospect and 1st/2nd round pick). So in this scenario, Kubalik/Fabbri, Berggren and a 2nd is actually what the price should be.
Who the hell knows, just basing this off what I think and what the market has told us.

Yes another debrincat trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>Berggren was injured for a bit the year he was drafted so Detroit had him play another season in The SHL. That season he had 45 points in 49 games. Then he had 64 points in 70 games in the AHL and he had 7 points in 7 games before being called up to Detroit. So it has taken him a bit longer to get to the NHL but he has been successful at every stop on his way to the NHL</div></div>
Yup. He'll be a good NHL player forsure.

Yes another debrincat trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>Well Berggren came up part way through the season and put up 15 while playing on a bad team.
I have never said Zadina will score 30 goals and was pissed when that F****** Baffoon Holland picked Zadina instead of Hughes.
I don't think nor have ever said Berggren is better than Debrincat. I don't think Detroit should trade Berggren at all and adding 1st and a 2nd is more than Detroit can spend. Now if that means DeBrincat doesn't come to Detroit so be it. Detroit isn't even a playoff team yet so why trade multiple assets for a single player. Adding DeBrincat doesn't make Detroit a playoff team. Especially when giving up a 1st, a 2nd along with Berggren.</div></div>
Fair enough. I've come to terms he won't be here long term so we'll see what the return is. But for Berggren, it's also worth noting he's about to turn 23, so I wonder how much higher his ceiling actually is. Cheers.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AquaticOwl</b></div><div>He plays a harder game. Is younger. Cheaper. And has high upside. He might never reach it, but Detroit has absolutely no reason to give up Berggren. If you're so adamant that he's unproven and not equal value, why do you want him in the deal?</div></div>
I never said I wanted him. All I'm saying is that I think some Detroit fans are overvaluing him. But yes, obviously he'd be a nice asset in a Debrincat trade, but saying he has equal value is simply untrue.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>Bergeron could easily become a 30 goal scorer which is what DeBrincat is without Kane and that way Detroit keeps the 1st.</div></div>
I also heard Zadina could easily be a 30 goal scorer. How has that worked out? Berggren is unproven and is not equal value to Debrincat. He is good and could become a 50-60 point winger but no way do Red wings fans really think Berggren has equal value to Debrincat.

Debrincat to Detroit
Don't get me wrong, Berggren is good. But holy, Detroit fans are overvaluing him. At best he becomes a 50-60 point winger. Debrincat is a proven NHL goal scorer capable of putting 30-40 goals per season for the foreseeable future.
