eichel trade idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15</b></div><div>Vegas would have to give up that package minus Stastny and either Tuch or Hague just for Eichel. Remember the Avs got Girard, Kamenev, Bowers, Hammond, 1st, 2nd, and a 3rd for Duchene. Eichel is a far superior player, and Reinhart is closer to Duchene than Duchene is to Eichel.</div></div>
my thinking on this was
reinhart >= tuch ,
montour < haug and 1st,
eichel >= 1st + Glass + Krebs + whatever they can get pick wise flipping Stastny ( another 1st if holding $ probably)
could probable get more pick wise but thats all the major stuff

Even if Byram is supposed to be an amazing defenseman, how often do you see a 90+ point forward traded for a prospect? And no 1st? The current proposal seems like the start of a deal, not the final offer.

Florida struggles defensively, I can’t see them giving him up unless you overpay. they are a win now team. I would think they’d want dermott, sandin and a 1st.

I don’t think Florida would move Ekblad , especially being in the same division, without an overpay. Any trade for Ekblad starts with sandin and a 1st

Lafreniere is the best winger prospect since Kane in '07. Caufield isn't even the best winger in his draft class.

A NHL 20 Rebuild
If you think you're getting Jacob Slavin signed on a steal of a contract for the next 6 years, you're crazy... Doesn't matter if there's an extension for Hall, you aren't getting Slavin.
Also you can only sign Pietrangelo for 7 years unless you trade for him. And if he isn't going to a contender he might want more than 9.5 million.

buddy. he was pretty decent with detroit. with vegas he never got to settle in with their system. and now he's putting up career high numbers. he can fetch a really good return if mtl decides to trade him, his cap hit is low, and if habs retain, his price goes up. he signed for 2 more years in his prime

What would a trade that couldve sent Tavares to Toronto look like
I'm no therapist, but try to think of it as trading Tavares for Lamoriello and Trotz. Not to mention getting rid of Snow and what ever down on his luck coach desperate enough to work for the worst GM in the league.

Maybe a 3rd instead of the 5th, have to convince NJ to trade a superstar in division. I think Hall is exactly what NYI needs though. Offensive star that will generate much needed scoring opportunities. I also think he would be more than happy to resign there

Only Hall trade Id go for
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>rentals are only worth what a team is willing to give up for them.
There isn't much of a grand scale here on that.
You aren't talking about signing a guy who has 5 years of control left on him and is 24 years old.
The market on a highend rental is typically a 1st and a prospect type deal. Really high end gets a 1st and a 2nd.
Teams aren't going to tear up their roster for one, and they aren't going to sacrifice multiple years in the draft for one.
So when you realize the market itself has a cap, you can start to realize that it doesn't matter who the player is.
If they are a rental. If they aren't already signed long term. You aren't going to get the moon.
And no player, has any reason to sign that contract unless they really want to. They would rather have freedom to test the market and I don't blame them for that.
Which makes it really hard to get more than that.</div></div>
Oh, I don't agree with a trade above, but I think a Hall trade ends up with a 1st and a decent prospect going back the other way at minimum.

Only Hall trade Id go for
every Hall trade should take a good look at the stone trade.
Erik Brannstrom who was selected 15th overall in 2017
forward Oscar Lindberg and a second-round pick in 2020.
In other words. They got a hyped up defenseman prospect who was a mid round selection. He is under sized and that was the knock on him, so lets not pretend he was some generational player. He wasn't.
For a puck moving defense man at the NHL level, he has 2 points in 20 games this year. Just going to point that out. As I want everyone to be honest about that prospect instead of listening to some Ottawa spin on losing Stone. But either way it boils down to a mid round 1st.
Lindberg, where is he now? I think he was just a body coming back the other way.
and a 2nd.
I'm going to be really honest about this. If you think Hall is returning anything greater than that, you are kidding yourself. AND Stone signed a contract.
Most teams who aren't in the playoffs aren't going to pony up on a rental,
And Most playoff teams aren't going to give up the moon. I think VGK knew Brannstrom was under sized and would struggle, as most smaller defensemen do. There is a reason there aren't many in the league at 5'9.
It is what it is.
People have such unrealistic expectations here it is unbelievable.

I don't think you can get neither of Drouin or Gaudreau with what tou offer... Gaudreau will cost a guy like Provorov or Hart.
