Is this trade possible if he demands a trade
Everyone on this site: Give Edmonton you 1st Line and two 1st Round Picks, and then MAYBE they will pick up the phone on McDavid. Lol. If McDavid is worth as much as y'all say he is. I don't even want McDavid. In fact I wouldn't even dream of having McDavid on my team. If any of y'all were the Oilers GM, there would not be a single offer worth my time to take McDavid from you. He isn't worth even close to what y'all say. I do agree he should be the most valued player in the league, but that is ridiculous.

This proposal is actually very realistic in my opinion. I could see this trade happening.

Nashville Declines they have mroe depth than maybe anyone in the league. They do not need to add more depth. They also are not looking for a top 4 defenceman. They will want to get a better look at Fabbro before they start looking for that. Turris could also bounce back, and I am banking that he does. Turris likely isn't going anywhere. Not for another season at least.

Nashville is worse off with these deals. I will let one of either Smith or Granlund walk before all of this. Bonino I can deal with, or I could also do Bonino for Sheary, either way that works for me.

Potentialy real moves
I think Grimaldi will about 1.5 million on a bridge deal, but maybe will take 800k for 1 year as it is noy likely we resign two of Chris Kreider, Mikael Granlund, or Craig Smith after this season due to cap difficulties. Then Grimaldi could possibly get what he wants as long as it is deemed fair by David Poile. Otherwise an overall grade A on this assessment.

As a Preds fan I woudn't do this. No one player is worth all that (especially when a cap dumped player is involved, even though he is not in edmonton anymore), so I guess we can at least agree this trade is wouldn't be happening.

Nj swap star ufa
We should have done a huge package trade with New Jersey, clearing space for Duchene & Getting Hall, Butcher, & other cheap pieces. sending PK Subban, maybe Granlund, and a nice prospect back to them such as Tolvanen. I could deal with a trade such as that but might not even need to pay that much as Hall doesn't have full interest in resigning with NJ so make it Subban, Grahlund, and a pretty good prospect (not being Tolvanen, Tomasino, or Fabbro) but something just a peg below them.

Kreider and Turris trades
Kyle Turris still did outplay James Neal, and the contracts I believe weren't too far off, so Nashville will still need a bit of incentive in this trade, as reuniting with James Neal isn't really an incentive for David Poile to make this move. It would be a huge incentive, but something a little more.

I absolutely hate the idea of trading Craiig Smith, but I might have to get behind that offer. You might not have to pay as much though because he wants to leave Edmonton. Sissons is also our black horse in the playoffs, but it may be a calculated risk worthh taking.

As a Preds fan, Ii can definitely live with this offer. We are more looking for a nice 2nd line forward toalso help the ppowerplay with another asset or two,but it definitely helps us get closer to clearing cap space which is the key in this deal.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>villenash</b></div><div>The issue I have with trading one of our D for another long-term D is the expansion draft. What will the preds do with 4 D signed long-term? (assuming Josi resigns) I don't see them wanting to go 4 - 4 - 1 again. So for that reason I think they want a forward for Subban or expansion draft-exempt players. If they plan on trading another top 4 D, then this trade could work. I would more like it more if it was Risto, Nylander, and 31st for Subban though</div></div>
I personally think the Preds should get a forward too, but even if we do, noo matter what the Preds are going to be losing a really good player. We just need to lower our salary hit, and this might be the best way to do that. As for the rest of these trades and moves it works out pretty nicely, besides Maroon who likely will not be leaving St. Louis now. Maybe try including Scandella in a deal for Vesey with the Rangers. But overall this isa Grade A assessment, and I really enjoyed this one.

I hope you don't mean this is actually a fair offer..the Preds would not give arguably their best two players, their best prospect, AND a first for one Connor McDavid or any singular player for that matter.

I really hope that is sarcasm, this isnt fair at all the Oilers are getting the clear cut best of the deal and there is no way Poile would do that deal, if it costs that much to get McDavid, I think every team that isn't the Oilers is better off without him.

If the Wild have cap, retention on Spurgeon would be a nice bonus to a true contender.</div></div>
If the Wild decide to flunk this season for picks and prospects then retention on Spurgeon would be a great option, more likely to wait til deadline day for that though to see what they want to do from there because I am sure they intend on competing this year.

Kapanen produced better than tolvanen at his age and is proven nhl good. I could certainly see why you want to hold on to him and see if he picks up.
It seems like he is saying I am overvaluing Tolvanen and implying I am valuing him as much as Marner, which I am not, I am just saying, I think Tolvanen has the potential to be much better than Kapanen but doesnt get the chance because of the depth we possess.
Granlund got you 5 points hopefully he adjusts and gets going, most agm’s have smith on the move. Think kappy could certainly leapfrog him in depth.
Maybe even dump turris and put granny at centre. Preds are looking for scoring so I thought it would match up. There are other teams with similar pieces.</div></div>
It seems he is aying that I am overvaluing Tolvanen, and that I think he worth equal to Marner, which I do not. Tolvanen I think can be better than Kapanen, he just hasnt had the chance because of our depth so yes, I value him more than Kapanen, just not more that Marner. I was simply stating Poile doesn't want to trade him. He would only consider trading him in a deal with immediate offensive help.

Okay again since people don't know how to read, I NEVER said Tolvanen was equal to Marner, I simply said Tolvanen, the Preds top prospect, is not for traded according to Poile, but If it were a deal to help the Preds with immediate offensive help he might consider INCLUDING Tolvanen in a deal. I even just said above that I was not implying Tolvanen for Marner as the Leafs would never go for that. Is this dumbed down enough for you now yanp007?

As a Preds fan, definitely not, this doesnt make any sense for the Predators, our top forward prospect and a really nice defensive prospect for...Kapanen? I don't think so. We will hold on to Tolvanen and Allard. Until you throw someone like Marner into the deal, there will not possibly be a conversation about including Tolvanen in a deal.

I could live with giving both, Rocco Grimaldi and Colton Sissons similar contracts. I believe we could really sign Rocco Grimaldi to a deal similar to Calle Jarnkrok's deal when the Preds resigned him a few years back.

I don't think we'd trade Turris and even an okay prospect for a less consistent NHLer. Turris had one bad year out of the better part of a decade. Zacha has struggled since he started playing at the NHL level. This deal doesn't make sense as Zacha would never break our lineup more than 20 times MAX next season. Also trading Tolvanen, a hot Craig Smith, AND a first rounder for Lindholm and Turris 2.0 (Neal) just doesn't make sense at all either. Especially considering Neal did worse than Turris in more games than Turris I believe. Could be wrong on how many games, but Neal did have a worse season and is payed fairly close to Turris.

Preds Offseason Changes
I appreciate the feedback! So I feel Matta at his best is better than Schultz personally, but I did think about the RD/LD balance when I made this decision. I also feel Matta is a lot less consistent and seems to be injury prone as Turris has been the same way. So I feel the Pens would be more willing to give Matta than Schultz for Turris because of those reasons. Any other questions or comments you or anyone else may have? I would just absolutely love to talk more about this. Oh ya and Grimaldi had a great season as well as Sissons in my opinion, so they are both due for healthy pay raises I think, but the salary for them is definitely debatable.
