probably whatever 2nd is the latest (mid-50s at worst) don't think STL makes another run
even now with us and Chicago winning i would trade one of those 2nds if needed

Can blame past management for a lot which is fair but that doesn’t mean the need to hate the idea of oilers winning it. Laf with mcdavid would be really fun for hockey fans to watch.</div></div>
Think you just answered your own question. Most teams/fanbases would kill for a chance at picking 1st overall even once, and the Oiler's have duffed it time and again. The general feeling seems to be "enough is enough"

I completely agree with you. They were great and that as a 2nd kind behind bread-Mika-kakko is deadly

Play the Yutes
Takes a special kind of person to see that the Rangers are rebuilding and have Panarin/Kreider/Buch/Kakko at their top 6 wings next year and think "hey that's a good spot for Saad, maybe they'll give me the guy they already turned down Kapanen for" lol

3 way with Toronto and Calgary
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheDime99</b></div><div>Is he really struggling that much</div></div>
Defensively he hasn't progressed as quickly as expected then again Bertuzzi, Fabbri and Bernier are about players on the Wings that are doing better than last year. In an interview he said "They want me to be more aggressive on both sides of the ice." So who knows what happens I like him maybe he needs a change of scenery.

LeafsRangers Big Swap
Hmm....
Deangelo: 66 points in 107 games over the last 2 seasons in which his most common linemate is Marc Staal.
Nylander: 66 points in 100 games over the last 2 seasons in which his most common linemate is Auston Matthews.
A 1 for 1 trade is pretty close....Adding Buchnevich is laughable.

Ottawa is also taking on a 2nd round pick, which is what you do with extra cap space when you are rebuilding, as I assume you are. Or are you guys all in for this year?

What if Phil Waived to the Big Apple
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>joshelkin</b></div><div>Coyotes trade is just silly. They aren't trading their franchise player for scraps</div></div>
Keller is not a "franchise player".. he had a total of 47 points in 82 games last year on a supposedly improved Coyotes team (definitely up for debate).. he did put up 65 the year prior. He is an average top line forward. I say average because he is a step below the elites that exist (pastrnak, aho, debrincat, laine (who could be in the next group with his shot), etc) and nowhere close to the franchise players (kucherov, draisaitl, ovechkin, johnny hockey, marner, etc)
I'll cede that the trade is probably not enough for all of the pieces from Arizona, depending on how you view Hjalmarsson
Kreider had 52 last year in 79 games, and 37 in 58 the year prior.. he's a solid 50-60 point player every year essentially.
Buchnevich still has untapped potential at only 23 (a few years older than keller) and has gotten better every single year in terms of points per game (.487, .581, .594) which averages out to 40, 48, and 49 points per 82. Considering he had an "inconsistent year" last year, it is not unfathomable to think he could put up 60 points over an 82 game season.
Vesey is simply a third line forward with a scoring touch on a not so bad contract.
So Arizona would get rid of a lets say 50-60 point player that has room to grow (i averaged the two seasons), a defensive defenseman and in return they would get a 50+ point player, a 40-50 point player that has room to grow, and a depth scorer. It's not the worst deal in the world as Kreider+Buchnevich>Keller. The deficiency and vesey just isn't = Hjalmarsson, let alone the 2nd round pick. I would say throw in a player like Pionk and maybe a 3rd rounder from Arizona (instead of the 2nd rounder), and it wouldn't be a bad deal for either team. Arizona get's more scoring and more depth that they sorely need, and rangers get the player they've wanted for a long time (back to the stepan deal) and a reunion with DQ

Zaitsev trades Do any of these work
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheDime99</b></div><div>Is Zaitsev really that bad, Ive never seen him play, or is his contract the real problem because every leafs ACGM trades Zaitsev away immediately</div></div>
I've watched almost every leafs game and he's not as bad as everyone says he is. He can eat minutes and do a good job on the PK but his breakout passes are brutal and basically ices the puck every time he has it in his own end. He was pretty good offensively in his first year but Babcock decided to play him in a more defensive role and it didn't work out as expected. Most ACGM teams trade him because the leafs need the cap space to afford the RFA's (Marner, Kapanen, Johnsson, etc)

Why is everyone trading for hanafin
Because he is young, Talented and has a high ceiling
When Dumba and Trouba we're 22-23 years old, people were saying "I don't think they're star potential" "we should consider moving them"
Now ask anyone in MIN if they would trade Dumba, and ask any NYR if they want Trouba
Hannifin is young, he's had some growing pains but i watched him in CAR, he has Star potential in him

Crazy McDavid Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheDime99</b></div><div>I understand that they need work, but that's what this trade does, if they keep McDavid he will continue to amaze people, but at what cost, they will not be able to afford more players and they won't make the playoffs, ths is gonna give them a little of everything. They would be lucky to make the playoffs twice before his contract would end. Yes he is one of the best, but long term they are going to struggle while he is there and they wont be bad enough to pick top 5 in the draft. So they should improve all three areas with his departure</div></div>
I get your point, but he doesn't move for that package. What you offer doesn't guarantee them to finish better than with McDavid. It has the potential to, but no guarantees. With McDavid, you're getting a guarantee.
