Yah it’s kind of wild. I’m a bit annoyed but it’s only for fun anyway so not a big deal

Just to put my season in perspective, week 1-7, I went 1-6 and averaged 77 points per week, then, from week 8-23, I went 6-10 and averaged 100.8 points per week (which includes 3 loses when scoring over 109 points in a week), truly a tale in 2 parts

We are likely going to have 2 teams that are over .500 not make the playoffs, crazy (also why does my team pick now to put up 125 points, it's too late, it accomplishes nothing)

My two trades
Received Krug and Ekblad from SaskLeaf for Myers and Ekholm: Kinda a nothing deal, I was about to drop Ekholm anyways, held on to Krug for a bit then dropped him, held on to Ekblad for a lot longer... I suppose Myers has been the best player in the deal. Slight loss for me.
Received Necas and W. Nylander from Fleuryous for Draisiatl, Sanderson, Bjorkstrand: Huge trade, and Nylander has outscored Drai since the trade. Necas has been underwhelming though, and Bjorkstrand and Sanderson have done well. Another slight loss.
It's fitting that there weren't that many trades, given that we're on CapFriendly and every team overvalues their own players... that must extend to the realm of fantasy hockey as well.

2023-24 CapFriendly ESPN Fantasy League
Since the fantasy trade season has passed, I thought I’d look at all the trades I’ve made and see how they’d turned out. I’m just kind of realizing my team is first in points for (and the reason I’m not first is because I’m also first in points again), so I was curious if the trades I made help that
Stone and Marchessault for Konecny and Meier
Not a good trade for me in the end, all of Stone, March and Konecny turned out about the same but Meier has struggled. So in the end not good. The silver lining is Stone is out for the rest of the season
Kadri and Drysdale for Vilardi and Lafreniere
Would have been fair or a slight win for me but I dropped Vilardi 🤦♂️. However, I turned around and traded Laf which brings me to…
Laf and Ullmark for Kyrou and Bobrovsky
This was a risky trade at the time but this ended up being a home run for me. Bob has been arguably THE best fantasy goalie this year and Kyrou has definitely turned out to be better than Laf. Definitely my best trade. And I ended up not even missing Ullmark since I was able to steal Markstrom off waivers lol (which more than made up for dropping Vilardi)
Ekblad and Kruger for Ekholm and Myers
I mean I guess I won since Hydration Squad dropped both guys and I still have Myers and traded Ekholm, which brings me to my next trade…
Theodore and Ekholm for Debrincat and Seth Jones
Pretty fair considering I made this trade to have less guys on IR (I had 2 with only one IR spot), and it’s been fine for me as well. Although ironically Jones got injured (not as long as Theodore but still) so I made another trade…
Jenner for Dunn and Haula
Again, it was fine, maybe a slight loss for me.
All in all I think my trades were pretty neutral in how my team did. Some were good and some bad. But in my opinion they’re fun to make so I’m happy with it

Habs trade for lHeureux
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jackaille</b></div><div>jsut to add, and I agree with you, Lebrun just came out saying Carrier is being shopped right now. Who would fill that role if Carrier is traded and Schenn goes on the 3rd pair</div></div>
I think Carrier is being shopped because they've not been able to come to terms on an extension. Carrier is well liked, and the organization has been clear that they want to keep him but aren't open to the possibility of a sought after asset leaving for nothing as a UFA. I think it just means that Tyson Barrie is back in the lineup and you move one of the AHL guys up as your 7D or you move Lauzon to RD (he is a lefty playing on the LD currently because we have too many RD) and you move up one of the AHL guys as your 3rd pairing LD. I just don't see the Preds being in the market for a D, especially a RD unless they can move both Carrier and Barrie.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jackaille</b></div><div>woulnd't he be a BIG upgrade on Schenn ? I feel NAshville can make the playoff this year and next year with their defense and goalies</div></div>
Savard would be an upgrade on Schenn, but an upgrade over a 3rd pairing D isn't worth a 1st round prospect that is ahead of schedule in terms of development. L'Heureux is 3rd in scoring among all rookies in the AHL and the organization seems pretty high on him.
Return on Savard is at best a late 2nd round pick to mid 3rd round pick in my opinion. With Del Gaizo and Stastny (Preds D prospects in the AHL, both 23 years old) both looking ready to make the jump to the NHL I can't see the Preds being in the market for D anyways.

Why would Nashville pay a higher price than what Calgary got for Tanev for a defenseman that is objectively worse and plays a position that they have too many of (RHD)
