the answer
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawksguy81</b></div><div>The value isn't fair. A 3rd and a injury riddled prospect doesn't even cover the cost to dump Murray - if it did he'd be off the Leafs already. And you have a player and a 4th coming back to Leafs? That pretty much makes the cost to dump Murray almost nothing. This trade is terrible for Anaheim unless Murray was a need, which he isn't as long as Gibson is there.</div></div>
Come on he is offering the Leaf magic trifeca of Iron Man Murry, LTIRobertson and 3rd. that combo can get any asset in the league. Zegras, Carlson and Gibson Retained is the equal value

(BOS/CHI) - Foligno, Hall for Mitchell, Regula
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ritzy</b></div><div>Why did Chicago give back anything when it is clear as day Boston needs to move a big contract?
Edit: I'm floored that so little people are calling this a win for Boston. Chicago gave back assets they didn't have to.</div></div>
This is true. However, Mitchell and Regula are likely very good AHL Dmen and fringe NHL players. They're both young and might turn things around (a la Forsling) but Mitchell is an undersized, overhyped player. There's also the fact of contract limits. I didn't look but Hawks may need the contract space so they tossed in some freebies.

Hawks are rebuilding currently, that trade is the opposite of what a rebuilding team does.

On a personal note, I think Kane is one of the worst human beings in the league, I really don't want him on the Leafs no matter what he brings.</div></div>
There are so much worse in the league instead of Kane real violent fiends & devious minds that deserve to be crosschecked into oblivion
Also who would you suggest instead of Kane & Murphy?, you claim Murphy is so bad yet his stats on every chart i’ve ever seen has been solid?

Not close to getting it done.........CHI heading into a true rebuild. Petry does nothing, you gotta pay extra for the cap dump. Evans is a third liner at best. Late first, early second isn't enough.

Please win a round
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannymills4</b></div><div>No I'm not. It is suggested that Mrazek and a B level prospect and/or Holl plus a pick could get it done. I'd go as high as a 3rd round pick and that should get it done.</div></div>
'You can be sure the Leafs will want to protect their first round pick at all costs. A second rounder seems like a reasonable place to start. The Leafs don’t have one again until 2024 at the moment. They could couple that pick with a B-level prospect like Nick Abruzzese. Maybe they even add a roster player like Justin Holl to the deal. That would create even more cap space. Chicago could spin Holl off for another asset at next year’s trade deadline. In that scenario, perhaps the Blackhawks send back a cheap, useful young-ish player in the deal. <strong>If not, a second and a prospect feels like the right price to pay.</strong> Anything more and the Leafs might be better off looking elsewhere, or simply buying out Mrazek’s contract.'
I'm not sure you actually read this article but there's the relevant part quoted and the especially pertinent part bolded.

Seeing a lot of these, why would a rebuilding team use two picks for one year of a declining overpaid bottom-six player they don't need?
