<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pretzelcoatl</b></div><div>Devils have no interest in trading a young stud forward for a defenseman when they're already strong at LD</div></div>
Sure that's why the Devls GM has been talking to Calgary about acquiring Hanifin for months already. Because they don't need him. o.O
No GM worries about being a mil or two over the cap during the summer. It happens all the time and gets fixed before the season starts.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheLand</b></div><div>True. What we need is RW prospects or roster players or C depth to replace what we are losing in Lindholm because Kadri is not a 1C but a 2C or top line winger.</div></div>
Preferably players/prospects with size and speed. Even better if they're power forwards or goal scoring snipers.

For VGK, maybe Stone.
Possibly bounce back and be healthy for a full season for a change

1 Player From Each Team I Believe Will Have A Break Out Season
half decent list, few guys that are a little bit of a question mark:
- lots of old guys on here... talented, but definitely on the decline. How do old players have break out seasons if they already have really good careers?
- kempe already has had his breakout season, hes seen as a top winger all over now... Jenner's role is also pretty set, have a hard time seeing him take a step further than he did last year
- brown's talents are well known, he just had an unfortunate injury.
- jost, katchouk, walker are all just fourth liners
chiarot has sucked forever, struggle to see him breaking that trend now that detroit has a much better d core. Realistically he shouldn't even be playing.
definiteily agree on hayton, sandin, samberg, kakko, zadina, lundestrom and novak though!

I remember Kipper. What a goalie he was. Especially in that 2004 Cup run where the Flames were ripped off in the SCF.

For Hawks, I know your criteria is >$1M but Taylor Raddysh is the winner. Makes just over league minimum and put up 20 goals in his first full time season.

Barre-Boulet.. I'd like to see Fluery earn the third spot thought before Cole came back Fluery played well. I think his biggest problem is getting regular ice time. Also think Brown with his size is given every opportunity. Ohh and Raddysh playing 25:mpg in the playoffs being 2nd only to Sergachev for Skaters will absolutely be in TBs top 6 don't sign Shaw call up Raddysh

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheLand</b></div><div>Just don't know hat else CGY wants that BOS can offer</div></div>
Yeah Boston really doesn't have much we'd want that they'd give up. Lysell is a good prospect and a right shot too but he's another small winger and Coronato is probably better. I don't know if Boston would give up Lysell either. I was actually hoping Calgary would take Coronato or Lysell in last year's draft and a bit torn which I preferred.
Anyhow like I said this comes close.

Kipper trade landed us Vlasic who before his decline was one of the top shutdown defenders in the world along with a Gold in olympics and World Cup of Hockey. Just pointing out that everyone looks at the Kipper trade with harsh eyes not even realizing the return was Vlasic.
But yes I see your point.

Doubt that's the plan. I can see him becoming a sort of captain figure in the locker room and on the ice. He and Hall can both help Bedard settle in. Even then, 4 mil is still extremely steep for Foligno. Maybe that was the temptation for him to sign...

Another Blockbuster For These 2 Teams
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheLand</b></div><div>There are extensions in place for both players and obviously CGY makes another move so that they can sign Reinhart to an extension</div></div>
Markstrom is the one I'd want to move but it's unlikely he can be moved without the Flames paying through the nose to do it. In that case it'd have to be one of Toffoli, Backlund or Kadri. The best part is it could be any of those 3 since Reinhart is a right shot forward who can play center or wing.
I'd follow that up by trading Tanev for a pick or Tanev+ for a replacement defenseman preferably a big one who is more like Zadorov than Hanifin. IOW another big hard hitting defenseman. We could use a big physical middle 6 / top 6 forward too.

Another PLD To CAR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheLand</b></div><div>True I was just thinking Gardiner being a sign and trade and Lucius because they already have his older brother. I doubt the Jets would be interested in bringing in Gardiner, but Drury and Lucius are nice pieces to maybe build a deal around. It may take more, depending on how many bidders there are, but like I said I think it would be in the maybe pile anyways

Agreed. Jets would do this in a heartbeat. CLB declines, cause they know the most they would get is 1 year of Dubois. And he's the type of player that Babs would love to pick on.
