<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>I mean, you’re trading a rental and a cap dump for pk subban. Other teams will offer more. I feel like Toronto would offer Nylander, Zaitsev, and significant assets</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shakabakes</b></div><div>I felt the same way. But looking at some of the proposals, they are almost treating Subban as a Cap dump. Maybe it's just reactionary after getting eliminated. Figured I would go small and add on from there.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>The_Real_FBGM_37</b></div><div>I feel like if you trade WPG 1st, Shattenkirk, Kreider, and your 1st next year, you are in the ballpark</div></div>

First things first.. Chris Kreider..no one should be referring to him as "just a rental", when next to Mika Zibanejad, he was the Rangers' best player. And since a number of these proposals have been about prying Kreider away, you cannot have your "rental" cake, and eat it, too.

The Rangers have cap room to fit a P.K. Subban without having to necessarily make a player swap to strike a deal. Nashville may want multiple assets or may want a cap dump in this case.

Honestly, it seems like more of a deal where Nashville will take help on their left wing (think Vesey, Namestnikov) at less cap cost, than taking more cap, even for one to two seasons.

Right now, Toronto is in a cap crunch; while they might want a Subban, giving Matthews and Tavares before him each $11+ million and Nylander a bonus ladened contract is giving them a fit, with them being to lock up so many others. Adding Subban would not be smart, even if Nashville ate 50% of the cap hit.

The Rangers face a roster crunch, as the kids are coming. The forwards in particular are going to get better quickly; Chytil, Andersson, Howden, Lemieux, Buchnevich..under the leadership of Zibanejad and Kreider: not to mention Kratsov, and either of Kakko or Hughes--that is nine forwards I've named. Strome makes ten. And, if Smith isn't moved, that's eleven.

Vesey, Namestnikov and, oh, by the way, Fast; which means 14.

My point is, reassess your look at the Rangers' roster, and try again.
