Slafkovsky Barron RHP in the minors
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>danielcoe</b></div><div>yes but remember dvorak will miss a few weeks and then someone else will get hurt and so RHP will not go to laval.....plus slaf is going to need to show in camp that he is ready else he might start in laval which i think is the best idea for his confidnece to play in all situations and get on a roll when he is called up. I will say this RHP has will and he will be on the team....if not injuries then another trade will happen. RHP has nothing to learn in laval.. he is ready</div></div>
I know Dvorak won’t start the year in MTL, but when he is back & everyone else are healthy, they won’t make a trade only because RHP is NHL ready lol I know there’s always injuries & he might never go back in Laval, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he does
Slafkovsky wasn’t ready last year & management kept him up all year. Can’t see them sending him down now

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>danielcoe</b></div><div>and now he is traded as i knew he was going to be gone.. such doubters but hughes has managed every task set for him.. with hoff and pitlick gone they now can play ylonen and Harvey pinard.. and petry will get them a high draft pick if we retain 50% at the deadline.</div></div>
Masterclass move by Hughes, but :
Monahan-Suzuki-Caufield
Newhook-Dach-Anderson
Slafkovsky-Dvorak-Gallagher
Pezzetta-Evans-Armia
Ylönen
Matheson-Savard
Guhle-Petry (if he stays)
Xhekaj-Harris
Kovacevic
Wideman (maybe waive Wideman?)
Montembeault
Allen
DeSmith (maybe waive instead of Wideman?)
So I would expect RHP & Barron to be sent in the NHL if everyone’s healthy

Montreal Canadiens in 2025-2026
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Koskinen_The_Great</b></div><div>I wouldnt worry too much about the Habs place in the standings. Yes, they had a lot of injuries but many factors are working against them in the coming year. They are still not close to the playoff bubble. They are 'improved' but they weren't in a lot of games last season and when they were in games it was cause of goaltending, a lot of the times. They will may be in more games but the results will be more or less the same maybe even worse. This will be the toughest season on the players psyche as last season there were no expectations but they are all expected to leap forward this year. Just look at teams like the Senators that have had it tough getting over the hump with expectations growing. We will really see the leadership in the dressing room tested with such a young team. I expect a bottom 5 finish in the overall standings and dead last in the East next to Philly.</div></div>
I agree with everything you said, let’s hope MTL ends up with a top 5 pick

I was very vocal about OTT needing to get the kid signed. I don't have any issues saying he's a good prospect/player. I don't have any issues with the Hawks/Sens making a trade. I don't think your usage of Offer Sheeting is wise. I don't think $4.2M is a reasonable contract and sets a VERY bad precedent to current Hawks prospects. AND who outside Reichel/Nazar/Moore?...Bedard... So yeah...the Hawks do have a VERY young team that need veterans. YES, it was an overpay for 1 year of their services. Doesn't mean offersheet Pinto is a good idea. Straight up trade for him...sign him to a reasonable deal if you want the Bean.</div></div>
I know you can’t offer sheet him, but he would cost a lot lore than a single 2nd round pick via trade. You overpaid for guys for one year, but you’ll need to overpay for vets again next year

There’s no good FA in two years outside Rantanen but he isn’t leaving COL. Next year there’s a couple of good UFA : Nylander, Marchesseault, for exemple

Did you see Pinto play ? No, you didn’t. It’s writing all over him he will be a 2nd line Center. Foligno & Perry are stop gaps for who ? You don’t have any good forward prospect outside Reichel Nazar & Moore. Moore & Nazar are years away, paying a 2nd would have been nothing for a guy like Pinto, even if that 2nd round pick ends up being 33th OA

The extra 4.2M probably comes down to whether ownership is willing to give him 8.8M over 2-years just to acquire him. I would guess that you are right that they wouldn't fork up that money. They might do more like 5M to secure him but the extra year is possibly a disservice to them if things do work out.</div></div>

I messed this one up since Pinto can’t be offer sheeted, but you always overpay the guy so the other team don’t match
Look at Kotkaniemi, one year 6.1M
That’s what it takes to get a player via offer sheet

Slafkovsky Barron RHP in the minors
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lafleur10</b></div><div>You have Armia on the lineup over both Slaf and RHP, that's just a baffling decision.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>danielcoe</b></div><div>truth is hoffman will get traded and armia has to win a job in camp else he goes to laval. And that is fair.. So if harvey or farrell outshine armia then he goes down... but hoffman produce at a 42 pt pace last year and at 50% retention someone will bite during camp or montreal will add a fourth rounder and then someone will bite. At 2.25 mil a 42 pt player is a bargain and the pick is just gravy... I can see him in chic or SJ or Ana or Ari.
Hoffman gone and armia in minors leaves room for Harvey and ylonen in the lineup the way it should be.</div></div>
You guys are way off lmfao
I hate Hoffman & Armia, but they are never healthy scratch
They don’t have a spot to earn, they have a spot to lose
But still, there’s no way they are buried in the AHL. I just can’t see it.
Hoffman half retained + us sending a 4th for future compensation …. That makes ZERO sense, you don’t retain half a contract and sending a pick to make a roster spot for someone. Those someone are waivers exempt, they can start in Laval & get recall when an injury occur. I don’t think this is going to be the line up for opening night, every year there is injuries during training camp + preseason games

I will answer you here instead of quoting everything
Koskinen : I like Kapanen floor, he could be the answer at 4C. But he is clearly not ahead of Beck in my book. I’m not sold on Mailloux at all, but neither on Barron. I just wish one of those two becomes a top 4 dman. Reinbachcer-Mailloux/Barron-Mailloux/Barron. I watched the game ‘au camp de perfectionnement’, Luke Tuch stands out physically, but he has ZERO vision. He is a North-South power forward, like Josh Anderson. But he got 4th line potential, which I didn’t see before. Who stands out were : Lane Hutson, Adam Engstrom & William Trudeau. Jayden Struble & Luke Tuch were solid. People say the Hutson-Reinbacher pairing looked good, but that’s bull****. It could have been Hutson & me and people would have said the same. Armia just said he doesn’t like MTL media, not a big deal. I agree, MTL need a top 3 pick, but I don’t think we will get it.
Blazingbat : I agree with pretty much everything you said

Montreal Canadiens in 2025-2026
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jpsnow13</b></div><div>General thoughts:
In 3 seasons, Gally will be 34 and done. Placing him on LTIR opens a spot for <strong>Roy</strong>/Mesar/Rohrer
Evans and Kovacevic will be replaced by guys on ELCs for sure. That makes place for <strong>Kapanen</strong>/Davidson/Kidney and <strong>Mailloux</strong>/Hutson/Engstrom
Matheson and/or Harris will be gone IMO. Prime trading assets.
This team needs a big left handed C/LW (if you switch Caufield and Slaf). I'm not sold on Heineman yet.
Montembault will be worth +$5M as a hometown UFA. See Ullmark, Husso, Merzlikins... If I'm KH, I give it to him as the free agent market will be poop. Still need a back up though...
Finally, is Dach 1C in 3 years? He might be...</div></div>
I also think Gallagher will be LTIRed in 2025-2026.
I like Kapanen a lot, but I think it’s too earlier for him
Kidney … maybe he’ll be in Laval top 6 in two years
Rohrer will be in his first or second season with Laval, not expecting him any time soon to fight for a roster spot
Mesar needs time, but he has talent. Still too early for him IMO
I don’t think Davidson signs an ELC after this year. It will depend how it goes in the AHL
Roy on the other hand could be ready, replacing Gallagher
I expect Montembeault to sign a two years deal after this season around 3M, to know what we have in him. I think he is dog****, but he played decent halfway through the season
