<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15a</b></div><div>ANA isn’t anywhere close to contending and even if they were McTavish is basically untouchable. In just the Pacific, CGY, EDM, and LAK are quite a bit better (right now), VGK if they have their goal tending figured out is better, and arguably VAN if they can stay healthy. Maybe in a couple of years ANA makes a trade where they make a move for a proven star but not now. You also mentioned how Terry is pricing himself out that’s not true for a number of reasons, ANA has a ton of cap space, Terry is an RFA and it isn’t like anybody has cap space to sign him to an offer sheet. I mean the post is creative and different.</div></div>
I dont think that they sign the players that they have if they dont feel close. Zegras is up too next season and Pasta imo is that proven star who is able to be an insane duo with Zegras. I think we see Terry moved next season if he performs as he did last season because I dont think that Anaheim wants to pay a good but not star-level forward the type of money he'll want. I agree that McTavish is mostly untouchable, which is why it isnt a deal they do unless aquiring a centrepiece which the rocket richard winner certainly is to me. Center is a position they dont need a star for, Rw is. And thank you, I appreciate the comment and insight.

McTavish is untouchable, especially for a rental
Same goes for Terry
Just brutal for the Ducks</div></div>
Please see my comment in reference to this. As well, I will ask genuinely out of interest, do you really think that Pasta wouldnt stick around?

Hi, always see you on the bruins teams and happy to see that you saw this. I was careful in considering the nmcs of each player in these trades and what they look for in a team. Pasta wants a dynamic centre, Marchand wants a strong powerplay, and Bergeron wants star power on his line (these are just examples, there are many reasons for each). If the bruins start trading guys, the others will not want to stay on the sinking ship and will be picky yes, but not untradeable at all.

A 2nd would be fine to me tbh. But I do think if in a good playoff spot at the deadline, the Giroux trade serves as a blueprint and cbj chooses to transition to a win now mentality and trades a low 1st now that they have their prospect pool stocked.

Agreed if Pasta is a rental but chances are teaming up with Zegras is appealing to him.
As of right now, Marchand is analytically a top 10 defensive forward as well as a higher scorer than Robertson. I will also say that Marchand has 3 years left where he will perform at a very high capacity for a team looking to win now. Robertson is in contract termoil for a team unwilling to pay him over 7 million, could easily sign a bridge cotract to ufa for 3 years, and is currently minimzing his own value to some extent. I think Dallas likes the safer, significantly lower cap player with stronger defensive stats and wants to wash their hands of this before he signs for one year and becomes Matthew Tkachuk. At tje end od the day, it is a far less risky trade than at first glance.

Interesting thank you. Been mulling that trade over. As I see it, Pasta is the best player in that trade and one that solidifies Anaheim as a strong contender, something neither of those players will do for at least a couple of years without another addition. As well, Terry is absolutely pricing himself off of this team (Reportedly 7m asking price) and it feels like Anaheim shipping their #2 Centre when they have another 50pt+ centre in lundestrom and an admittedly worse rw (Terry, not to say not extremel valuable) for a second franchise forward in Pasta who can easily be the partner Zegras needs for the forseeable future assuming he signs which I truly think he would. As well, Anaheim is extremely set in top young dmen but has very little in terms of depth in the long term. Gryz serves a role I believe this team needs filled and therefore, serves as an excellent throw in for a deal that already proves fair to me given their needs.

I'd never want to sell him for that price, just too many B's fans with optimism, tried to go as if all goes against our best wishes as it always does.

What I think the bruins should actually do
Hmm, by getting rid of DeBrusk and adding Hall, are we not leaving the same hole on the 2nd line? Ryan is good but I don't think he fits there. Cap-wise it's quite tight, I'd probably pay a bit less for some of those contracts. As well, I still think there are depth moves that need to be made. Lindholm is simply not an NHL guy imo and to be a real contender, need to replace Lauzon with someone with more talent. All that being said, Ik i'm being pessimistic but I like this outline a lot, definitely has potential.

True but the best LD1 I see the Bruins hunting is OEL and at his cap and with his current trade value, this seemed like the better fix at least for the season as hjalm expires next year.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>uphere</b></div><div>The Oilers LD is pretty congested right now. Klefbom, Nurse, Jones, Russell, Lagesson. I'm not sure Ken Holland would be interested in adding Moore. He might be an upgrade over Russell, but there is no guaranty Holland will be able to move Russell. He might be a better option than Lagesson, at least to start the season, but Lagesson would be the 7th d-man and is nice expansion-draft insurance. He's also bound to cost at least $1,900,000 less than Moore.</div></div>
You're definitely not wrong. I was more or less focusing on the homefront for this build. In previous builds I've had a number of other recipients of Moore but this time it's really more that someone would likely take him on for a 5th.
