suzuki’s potential is better than suzuki but right now Hertl is still better than Suzuki… for now
you would have to add Drouin or upgrade the pick to a 1st

My guess 1st, Tuch and Norlinder would be a decent trade. I think some money would need to be retained on Burns though.

Where did anybody say anything about two firsts, let alone 4?
I don't think the teams match up well for a John Gibson trade. You're not about to trade Suzuki or Caufield or Kotkaniemi, and I certainly don't blame you. The only justification for us to trade Gibson is to get early-round firsts in 2021 and 2022 plus players that can make an immediate impact. I don't see Montreal doing that. Now the Rangers have the sort of assets in depth that would interest us . . .

No but adding 3 bottom 6 forwards to young guys we have already who need to play is too much. I like the players its more space.

Selling the future V2
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>The_Architect</b></div><div>IMO LA is not gonna do much this yr so I don't see Brown being that important to the team right now or the future for his stock to be inflated. Drouin at 26 might be worth adding to a young team, obviously if he gets better. And if he does, LA can still probably extend him at the most 5mill × 5 yrs. Baiscally I'm just saying it might be worth giving up Brown on his last yr for someone that can be in the top 6 for another 5-6 yrs.</div></div>
We’re already taking a risk that Arvidsson bounces back with a lower cap hit. Drouin is not the right fit for LA in a hockey trade. We’re better off looking to take a bad contract where we’re gaining another asset somewhere else. I personally don’t see Montreal as a good trade partner for what LA is trying to do and what they have available to move.

Bert for KK would probably get done. There may be some extra pieces added on each side but I think Detroit would bite at adding KK.

Yeah no, first off I still think Detroit might pass even with KK in the trade. Secondly you giving up half of our good prospect for Hertl which is not worth it. Selling the Future would be dumb especially if the team would look like this because it isn't much better then what we already have

You don't do it even if he does resign. I like the idea of trsding Gallagher simply because of his cap and the depth they have at RW. But you don't trade a 20 year center who could be an absolute stud in the near future

I misunderstood you though, I apologize. People wrote off Carter a long time ago and now he's tearing it up. It was an injury, but he's healthy and playing better than he has the last 3 years.

I'm sick and tired of debunking this Carter rumor. It was randomly started by TSN, not Carter. He has gone on the record saying thats not true. From the Athletic:
https://theathletic.com/912635/2019/04/08/jeff-carter-wont-retire-so-what-are-the-kings-options-with-him?source=user-shared-article
" Jeff Carter emphatically denied that he’s considering retirement, squashing a rumor from earlier in the season that if the Kings dealt him, he would call it quits.
“I’m 20 games from 1,000, so I don’t think I’m retiring,” he said at the team’s getaway day Monday. “I got three years left on my contract. I want to be an L.A. King. I want to help change things around here, but I don’t have no-trade protection so whatever happens, happens. And I never talked about retiring either. Never came out of my mouth.” "

Nice to see you're still here <a href="/users/The_Architect" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@The_Architect</a>, am sure we'll manage to have some interesting discussions again. Do I make the assumption that you're going with the rumours being true that PD wants more than what was offered, and therefore are willing to trade him for Carter? Seems dicey either way. However I will say the Jeff Carter retirement stuff has already been debunked.

personally i say no, and hopefully also the pens do...
i mean caufield is a gret prospect but the trade would mean to stop being competitive rn.

Like this for the Pens. Danault plus Tatar is as good or better than Malkin on his own. Plus Pens get some futures out of it. If you were to ever trade Malkin this is a nice package. But as a fan I hope he retires a Pen he's still dominant
