Nah. I’d want to keep Boeser. The point is to add Marner to an already stellar top 9, not upgrade one of the players already there

No doubt they would prefer not to have it, but I think if they were willing to attach a 4th round pick to do it, he would be traded already

Idk if it’s worth a 4th round pick just to avoid LTIRing Poolman. I think Canucks probably pass on this one

Even for debatably good players it took a 2nd round pick to dump salary. Dickinson/Mrazek (2nd round value), but also pure cap dumps Bailey Zaitsev. The benchmark for salary seems to be a 2nd.</div></div>
Sure, doesn’t matter. The point is he won’t be a Canucks next year

But having the best top 9 forward group is definitely not what wins you games or championships.
That goaltending will sink any team, and that defense is below average too. This is a team that loses games 6-4 regularly.</div></div>
This Dcore is a significant upgrade from the current year dcore

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>athrin</b></div><div>that dont get VAN brady, OTT declines</div></div>
Wrong. Incredibly fair value trade that fits Ottawa’s biggest needs.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JokiStan</b></div><div>Willingly going from Demko to two of the worst mainstream goalie options the NHL has to offer is certainly a choice</div></div>
Foresberg has an excellent track record the three years prior to this one. Worse than Demko? Yes for sure.
But still easily a good enough goalie for this team to compete for first in the pacific again. It’s not like LA or Edmonton or VGK or Colorado have elite goaltending but all of them are basically 100 point teams.
Vans biggest strength is defense. They need to add more offense to the team and this is the best way to do it
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>YesThisIsFlo</b></div><div>Listen, two things can be true:
- The trade can have fair value
- The trade makes absolutely no sense from an organizational or roster standpoint
Hell no, because it makes the team significantly worse on aggregate, even if the value might be there.</div></div>
This would be the best top 9 forward group the team has possibly ever rolled out, even going back to the Sedin era teams

Reilly is not the answer. If a deal can’t be made with hronek then there are 10 or 11 different defenceman I’d target before reilly

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tennisman142</b></div><div>True but you had Seider playing the #1 role on detroit. I don't think Hronek would do well playing the #1 role on stl with Leddy. He would be good to replace Faulk on the 2nd pair but not Parayko on the 1st. Plus he will want more money than Parayko and we will still have the same problem that we have now if we swapped Hronek for Parayko.</div></div>
worth pointing out i think that hronek actually averaged more 5v5 time per game than seider last season. seider did play more on the pk and slightly more on the pp. also probably worth pointing out that seider's play has dipped significantly this year being thrown into the heaviest work load in the league without hronek there to share the burden.
maybe the blues are better off with parayko but i think you are underrating hroneks ability as a top pair dman

its funny because if you redo this AGM but keep mcnabb and roy, send brisson and morelli down, and then swap rielly for korczack... its still cap compliant.
like, the whole cap dump is pointless
