Holl has value though, if not Minnesota I'm sure someone else would pony up a 3rd for him. I feel like Holl to Minny makes sense next off season when you guys have to move on from Dumba

That Hoffman deal is actually pretty intriguing, you can easily try to flip stralman too. If you retain on him once more instead of pitlick you could probably get a 2nd back from the right contender (TOR,FLA,TBL)

Bringing some NJ kids back home at deadline
Subbans not a bad add at all, especially if thats what it took to get him. But we'd need another team to retain another 2,250,000 for it to actually make sense for us and I think thats where the deal dies. I think The leafs would ask that the devils supply the draft pick needed to retain the extra amount while the devils would argue that the leafs should.
TLDR: Leafs counter with:
Toronto gets: Subban (2,250,000)
Devils get: Abruzzese, Toronto 6th
San Jose gets: Edmonton 4th from Jersey for retaining 2,250,000

Leafs Win The Cup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MatyG</b></div><div>Yes Marner has been great for the leafs, I dont doubt hes a top tier player and that their offense has been deep. It would be borderline crazy to trade Marner at the moment but to get value you have to give up value. Kane is almost a point per game player in the playoffs, 3 Stanley Cup Champ and I think he could get the most out of Matthews. Ya I saw some reports Fluery wasnt interested in uprooting his family again but the potential for a long playoff run could maybe change that. Matt Martin I fully believe could act as an engine for the leafs and fill a role that several players have been brought in to fill and some have done a decent job at but I havent seen a more passionate leafs team then when he played for them. He has also held his own against every tough guy in the league that the leafs could play in the playoffs.
My thought was Dillion would essentially play in the spot for Muss until he is 100% or playoff ready, then the two could be interchangeable. I doubt a 1st is on the table for this year without it being a bit of a bigger transaction. Leafs have a couple good young D in the prospect pool, not sure how willing I would be to part with some of them especially if they move on from some of the ones in my previous trades.</div></div>
Yeah I feel that but it just wouldnt happen now is all Im saying, If anything they can make a run at him around the draft and throw a huge package at the Blackhawks to try and get it done,
Yeah I would not trade a first for dillon either, maybe pair two seconds and ship them there? The Jets would have recouped any losses that they spend on him in the process

Quickly Solving their goaltending issues
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Welcome to CapFriendly, by the way! Sometimes, it's not too friendly.
Right now, the team's major need is a high-quality LD to add to youngsters Mikey Anderson and Tobias Bjornfot. (At the beginning of the season, GM Rob Blake delivered himself of some comments on that subject that pointed to guys like Jakob Chychrun, Ivan Provorov, Mikhail Sergachev and Zack Werenski, but I don't know how available any of them are.) RD is permanently set as is with Drew Doughty, Matt Roy and Sean Durzi there with Sean Walker returning from injury and Brandt Clarke and Brock Faber in the wings; even excellent RD prospects like Jordan Spence and Helge Grans appear surplus at this point. A secondary question is the eventual replacement of Dustin Brown at RW. Center is full with Anze Kopitar, Phillip Danault and Quinton Byfield backed up by Blake Lizotte, Gabe Vilardi, Alex Turcotte and Rasmus Kupari. Left-handed forwards are in such plentiful supply that Alex Iafallo and Trevor Moore have enabled Los Angeles to play Adrian Kempe and Arthur Kaliyev on RW along with "natural" rightie Viktor Arvidsson. The goaltending is set for at least one more year, inasmuch as Jonathan Quick is having a better year than Cal Petersen. Now you're all caught up.</div></div>
Haha thanks the discourse here is much more civil than on twitter so I think ill be staying LOL,
And hey that's pretty good for you guys it seems like you're playing with house money, yeah once you lay it out like that I feel like the Kings and Leafs arent the best trading partners right now, unless in the off season you guys are comfortable trading back for Muzzin and running him alongside Durzi or Roy. Either way thank you for the write up! It was nice to actually sit down and read it through!

I think a Driedger for Mrazek swap makes sense. Kerfoot has put up a nice amount of points but driving play hasnt been the best from him this season. Soucy is a big moible defenseman who acc lays the body unlike Holl.

Idk Toronto doesnt seem to value his skillset too much, I feel like hes the type that needs to play all around the line up. Minny already spreads out talent like crazy, I think pairing him with Foligno would be sick.

Marner isnt the issue in Toronto minus the 2LW spot this is the deepest offensive leafs team of our lifetime. Fluery has stated that he doesnt intent to move at the deadline as well, though it was steve simmons who reported that so I wouldnt be surprised if that was BS. Either way not a fan of that first deal. Dillon makes sense for the leafs, but the jets seem to be in limbo at the moment it might be time for a reset there, I think they'd prefer picks over prospects atm. Martin would only work if they try to recreate the identity line, spezza would be useless out there with them.

Im not quite as harsh on Larsson, but I would say theres 3 other d-men from seattle that I would target before Larsson.
I'd offer Kerfoot, Holl, Mrazek for Jarnkork, Soucy, Driedger. I think they take that too, The salaries work out as well, it could be a win win for both sides.

The trade isnt bad but most of the free agents all signed under market value. Campbell could probably get 5 on the open market, Sandin will get 1.5 easily and if Liljegren keeps playing the way he has he will too as a RHD. Engvall is about right, Kase will get about a million dollar raise as well. MacDermid seems like the type of guy to get overpaid in the offseason as well.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>We have no cap concerns next season despite the fact that we have to give raises to Adrian Kempe and Mikey Anderson as well as (theoretically) absorb Jakob Chychrun's cap hit, because we have Dustin Brown, Alex Edler and Olli Maatta coming off the books. (I've done a construction where the Kings acquire Travis Konecny and Ivan Provorov, whose cap hits total $11.75 million, without difficulty.) Once a team is well below the cap ceiling, it's all Monopoly money. And Petersen and Quick would be $1.7 million cheaper than Petersen and Mrazek.</div></div>
Ahh that makes a ton of sense, I'm guessing a chychrun move would be an offseason move then correct? Yeah I didnt do much more than a surface level look into the Kings, I was mostly just seeing what would stick

They got Petersen as their new number 1, having 10 million wrapped up in goalies might not be ideal. Though they can probably afford to move him at the draft as Petersen's new deal doesnt kick in until next year. But if they want to add Chychrun they need to move out salary, Quick seemed like the easiest way of doing that

LOL well yeah, its not like the leafs would trade for every single one of these goaltenders. Say for example we go after Binnington or Quick the blues or kings can then take the assets and cap relief we give to their teams and then can improve around the roster after that they can trade for a Riemer or Holtby.

Most of the Guys listed have a substantial cap hit to go along side them. A team can flip one and then trade for a goalie making half as much, and come out with assets on top of a competent back up.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Byrr</b></div><div>Well first thing first. More than half of those teams are heading to the playoffs, either this season or aiming to in the following seasons and you are trading for goalies with term, and arent going to be trading security in net for meager sums. Knock every team you have up there who will be competing for the playoffs, then revisit your list.
The realistic list for making a move during this season is down to Seattle, San Jose, New Jersey and Ottawa. Then look at the costs you are paying compared to the upgrade you expect to get and realize there isn't really a move to be made here.</div></div>
Not saying that these are moves that would be made during the season, just trying to figure out what the value around the league is for goalies. You are right Seattle, San Jose, New Jersey and Ottawa will be selling but you also have to realize that Dallas, Anahiem are tweeners this year they could decide on a whim to be sellers instead. And every other goalie thats on a contending team is their secondary goalie at the moment
Blues have Husso over Binnington
LA have Petterson over Quick
Rangers have Sheshterkin over Georgiev
Islanders have Sorokin over Varlamov
Hurricanes have Andersen over Raanta
Minnesota has Kahkonen who is playing better than Talbot
Washingon has Vanecek over Samsonov (Caps fans seem to want to move on from him)
Hopefully Campbell can get back on track but I have no faith in Mrazek right now, he needs to play with defenders who are strong in front of their nets like in Carolina to have any success
