NHL Award Predictions
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>The fact that rangers fans don’t understand this blows my mind.
Rangers fans: Fox is the best d man in the league!
Sane people: okay, if he is, and is given the awards, he’s going to get paid like a top d man in the league.
Rangers fans: woah woah woah, let’s not go crazy. I think minimum wage should do.</div></div>
A smart gm will give him a 1 or 2 year prove your consistency contract. A Jim Benning would give him 8 years 10 million.

Nylander for Laine
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>nah, see i did watch the games, and most of his goals came from rebounds that he was able to get because he was....hanging around the net! if he was on the perimiter than he wouldnt be able to get the rebounds near as well. But then i watch the games so i'd know that.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>faulkmydzingel</b></div><div>Lol. Oh my not this net play argument again about Nylander. Watch the games not the stats. Most of his goals from around the net are rebounds from hanging around the perimeter. Guy literally gets a lucky tip in once a year. I would win a puck battle against him on the boards and I didn’t even make Junior C.</div></div>
Nylander has shown it all boils down to effort with him. When he played with Matthews he appeared to only do one thing - look for Matthews stick regardless of opportunity in front of him. It seems he has upped his aggression and his hockey iq by jumping on rebounds more often. I strongly believe this is due to his play with Tavares and nothing else.

Next Season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Old_Dogs_Rookie</b></div><div>I think the Leafs better be prepared to pay Hyman more than that or lose him on the open market, a home town discount is one thing but this will be his prime contract in his career unless its a bridge deal which is not typical at age 28. His numbers this year suggest Nylander money as he has the similar points in less games, I wouldn't think he takes any less than 5 mil to stay, probably more as an FA.</div></div>
I’m thinking he takes a bit of a discount on the AAV. However the term will offset. Likely 6-7 years.

It’s ok. They’re the type of fans who would like Steve Simmons behind the bench with Darren Dreger upstairs calling the shots.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>faulkmydzingel</b></div><div>We all know the play you're referring to. But in fairness he did the exact same thing to Muzzin earlier this year. Rielly is under a lot of scrutiny as he is the Leafs #1 Defenseman. That is a reality for any team. Rielly will also have an agent trying to negotiate for top dollar. That is an agents job. So yes I'm sure the dollar figure of 8 Million has been thrown out. But at this point its meaningless. I can see Rielly staying for around the same or less that Krug signed for in our flat cap world. Those calling for him to play LW have no idea about the game of hockey.</div></div>
Those calling for him to play wing are the same that think dumping Johnsson to New Jersey was an awful trade.

What would it take to get Eichel on the leafs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>faulkmydzingel</b></div><div>Honestly do we want to give up a bunch of futures for a guy that has been part of nothing but a losing culture for his entire career? Not to mention the captain of that losing culture? Sure he may be a good player. But whether the value you have in the trade is enough or not doesn't matter to me. I'll keep our future.</div></div>
I think Eichel is a really good player in a real bad situation. I don't think he should have been named Captain, but that's a different story. That being said I think you're right in your comment. But would change it to most teams. I would say Eichel will be a Sabre until is second to or last year of his contract.

A Leaf trade without Kerfoot
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LeafsfanMathews</b></div><div>No chance he is the next Ovi! But NO CHANCE THE LEAFS TRADE HIM.
Robertson’s got a fascinating, unique skill set. His curl and drag release comes off his blade heavy and can cleanly beat goalies from mid-range. He’s got superb hands and footwork, helping him spin off checks, fearless in puck pursuit, and he doesn’t back down from board battles. Robertson’s got clear top-six and power play upside.
He is going nowhere</div></div>

I agree Robertson is going no where. But given market value I don’t think this trade is terrible. Nice change from the usual.

That's a great point. Or was it that year in the press box that fueled his motivation/determination?
