Maybe you misunderstood. Those aren't "greater than" signs, they are arrow signs. He is saying he would choose Pastrnak over Nylander and Vasilevskiy over Rielly.

God, just take my like. But I am a little Pániky tbh because even you have to admit the goaltending tandem is quite unproven. But there is nothing that can really be done about it now.

What do you think it would cost to acquire blais and barbashev from the blues. I really want them to trade for those players i think they would be great with our style of play</div></div>
I'm not sure how much St. Louis wants to trade them tbh. They are one of those bubble teams that will either be in or out of the playoffs this season. Their fans seem divided on this and this makes the team highly unpredictable.
All I know is that they definitely don't want a lot of long-term cap going back their way so I'm not sure how the Pens could trade for them without getting rid of a big salary to another team beforehand to free up space. I don't want to see Pettersson traded just to clear up space.
For Blais, I'm thinking maybe Riikola and a 4th/5th? I'm not too sure about Barbashev.

You're crazy if you believe that he's going for a first. With the addition of Caulfield, the Canadiens have so much wing depth that they have no use for Armia. It's not just about player value, but also leverage. And even just based on player value, he is not worth a first...

A 3 Team Trade
Okay seriously. It's understandable for other fan bases to begin undervaluing Pettersson because of all of these proposals, but you have to realize that the only reason why so many people are proposing Pettersson trades is that the team has no other tradeable asset whose departure would not hurt the offense or be replaceable.
There is no point in just giving him away for no reason. Assuming that Zucker and others are traded in order to free up enough cap space for returns, there would be absolutely no point in trading Pettersson. The team might as well keep him and trade him for a higher value in the off-season. They need to protect at least 3 defenseman anyways and without Pettersson to protect, it only leaves Dumoulin, Letang, and some other pointless protection.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LeafsFanZay</b></div><div>Ah frederik gaudreau and teddy blueger as your bottom 6 centers and you think it is good even when burke wants a center</div></div>
The ZAR-Blueger-Tanev line has been doing quite well. What the Pens are looking for is someone to play with Zucker basically. Preferably someone big. The other two lines that are pretty much set are Guentzel-Crosby-Rust and McCann/Zucker-Malkin-Kapanen. Zucker's situation is similar to what Kessel was a few years ago. They want to roll 3 lines.

Seattle Kraken
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AndrewLadd</b></div><div>Interesting, I always though Zucker was the better player</div></div>
Well consider their current stats:
Zucker
Age: 29, Salary: 5.5 million (3 yrs including current left, UFA), currently 8 pts/20 games
McCann:
Age: 24, Salary: 2.94 million (2 yrs including current left, RFA), currently 17 pts/25 games
McCann is younger, cheaper, and is an RFA at the end of his contract. Maybe they protect both and leave Blueger, Tanev, and ZAR exposed idk, but I personally think that it would be dumb of them to leave McCann exposed since I don't think he is the least valuable asset of these 5 players.

Getting future assets and depth
Crosby once vetoed the idea of management trading Malkin. I know that Burke and Hextall are no push-overs, but I doubt that they would let Malkin go if Crosby still says no unless Malkin's asking price is absurdly high. As for Letang, idk. It's hard to imagine what Pittsburgh would look like with only Crosby left of the old core.

Pettersson rational
On behalf of these Pittsburgh fans that are proposing Pettersson trades, the main reason is not really because they don't like him, it's just that they want to shore up the third line and the team has no real player assets outside of Pettersson. No team would want the Matheson contract (he is actually playing half-decently though) and knowing Hextall's history and his recent comments, it is highly unlikely that the team is going to keep mortgaging future picks for the present like Rutherford did (thank God). Pettersson is quite like Maatta back then, but I personally believe that Pettersson is better. Chicago got lucky because Rutherford was a moron and chose to trade Maatta instead of Johnson. He said that he was given the choice of giving up one of the two and of course due to his relationship with Johnson, he gave up Maatta.
For me personally, there is no point whatsoever in doing this trade. I have no idea what Zadorov will ask for in his next contract and that itself is risky considering he is currently making 3.2 million. Even I will admit that some of the Pettersson proposed trades have been somewhat unreasonable. Everyone is cap constrained right now due to the flat cap and teams will be more hesitant than usual to take up this type of contract.

Palmieri Trade Odds
I agree that the Islanders have more of a need for a scoring winger than the Leafs, but I believe that the reason why the OP has the Leafs at higher odds than the Islanders are for 2 reasons:
1. Not wanting to trade to a team within the division. I know that Palmieri is on an expiring deal, but the team that trades for him likely has a slightly higher chance of re-signing him.
2. Dubas' comments about his willingness to trade his young assets, which probably entices NJ.
And yes, Boston is technically in the same division right now, but they won't be after this season when it really matters.

Seattle Kraken
Everyone has Seattle selecting McCann from Pittsburgh in their mock expansion draft. It would be crazy if Hextall left him exposed. I believe that they SHOULD and hopefully will protect:
Letang, Dumoulin, Pettersson, Jarry, Crosby, Malkin, Guentzel, Rust, Kapanen, McCann, and one of Tanev, Blueger, and ZAR. They should leave Zucker exposed. Worst case, Seattle selects him and Pittsburgh has cap space going into the offseason. I as a Pens fan am going to be pissed if they don't protect McCann.

Everybody else declines.
Also, rebuilds don't happen "on the fly".</div></div>
Hextall likes building his teams through the draft, which is a breath of fresh air for Pittsburgh. I don't think that he is going to mortgage another year's draft picks for a player with only 2 years left and is in his late 20's. Maybe he will, but I personally doubt it. And I love Forsberg. I laughed when Washington gave him up for an aging forward like that lol.
