Well I mean... they have still won a majority of their games this year so idk how you can say "often"...

Question everyone
The earliest he can come back due to LTIR rules is against Nashville on the 27th. He is reportedly going to start practicing tomorrow so I dont see why the 27th wont happen.
That means he will miss 2 more games after tonight

Nothing. Why would Carolina go out and probably overpay for Gibson when Mrazek and Reimer are both having outstanding years.
This makes no sense. Why specifically Carolina?

Georgiev to leafs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PleaseBanMeForMyOwnGood</b></div><div>A backup is not worth Kapanen.</div></div>
Its not a backup. It is a young high end backup AND a top end prospect.
Andersson has shown elite potential and could very well step in and replace Kap right away. NY would not be willing to make this trade if Andersson didnt request a trade

Georgiev to leafs
That Leafs trade makes me happy! I think it is equal value on both sides and both teams get what they need.
As a leafs fan, Moore and Timashov are playing for the same spot on the roster which can be filled by Andersson and Kapanen is playing 3rd line in Toronto where he is easily top 6 on most teams. This would open the 3RW spot for Braco and keeps together the top 6 while adding a quality backup (and potential future starter if Freddy wants Bob money?) and imo a great prospect in Andersson who can jump in and play right now.

My 2020 Draft Top 15
Drysdale will not slip past NJ. He either goes early or they will take him. The devils are fine on forward for the future, but after Ty Smith they are lacking defence prospects
Only other difference for me is that I have Holtz ahead of Rossi

I agree mostly with the "YET" part. He will improve so it is everyones best interest to do a short bridge deal for now to save cap

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>How did the WJC affect the rankings, in your opinion?</div></div>
I think they proved that Lafreniere is significantly ahead of the rest of this draft.
I think Drysdale showed he is the best defensman available. It is very hard to play in this tournament as a young D.
Tim Stutzle moved himself well into the top 3 conversation. Before the tournament he was more pushing to be in the top 5.
Other than those 3, the Swedish duo of Holtz and Raymond both looked as expected and the remainder of the (top end) draft prospects didn't play in the tournament.

Future of the Leafs - Part 1
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PleaseBanMeForMyOwnGood</b></div><div>Maybe if its longer term but I can also see him getting a 2 year deal around 2 million each year and hope that he can produce more offense and warrant a bigger deal. I don't think either Holl or Dermot are ever going to be much as far as offensive players. Both are very good two way guys. Holl is definitely not one dimensional. He's a good puck mover and a very good skater.</div></div>
I could see a shorter bridge deal happening at similar value. For 3 years or more though he will get more than Holl

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PleaseBanMeForMyOwnGood</b></div><div>I used to think that Dermot would get a deal similar to this but after seeing Holl get 2 million its going to be hard pressed for Dermott to be able to argue he deserves more. Holl has been better this season. Also Shattenkirk sucks.</div></div>
I agree that Holl has been better, but they play different styles. Holl is a 1 dimensional player where as Dermott has a more well rounded game with more to offer. Add that to the fact that Holl is arguably in his prime where Dermott should be expected to improve throughout his contract I think he will get somewhere in the range of $3-3.5M on his deal this summer.

Deadline Trade Set Up For Future
Idk if there is a team in the league that is willing to take on 6 years of salary retention let alone a competitive team now.
The pieces the leafs give back have little value to the blues as well. Johnsson is the only guy who will step in and make a difference now, and even then would be behind Schenn and probably Schwartz on the LW.
I know Pietrangelo is expiring, but this would only make sense if St Louis was a bottom team.

The fact that they didn't have to give up one of their top prospects is good for Arizona. NJ made up for this by getting 3 decent prospects instead of 1 top one (quantity over quality).
IMO its a good trade for both. Arizona keeps their top prospects in Howden and Soderstrom and gets an elite winger to help them win now, while NJ gets some quality pieces for the future.

My lines for Arizona
I like Keller and Hall together, but keep Keller on the wing where he belongs.
Fischer has been playing will this year so I doubt that they break up their top line of Schmaltz-Dvorak-Fischer line let alone scratch one of them.
Also, Demers and Hjalmarsson are both out for a while. I know this is more around the forwards though.

They have a deep prospect pool and Defence is their strength right now. They aren't paying a ton for their top guys to they can re-sign him this off-season too
It just makes so much sense

Hall Prediction
I just posted a very similar trade, the only difference being Fischer. I dont think this is impossible, but since Fischer has been playing a big role for Arizona this year my guess would be they want a little more back for him.
If Fischer is included I would guess that Soderstrom comes off the table and maybe replaced with maybe Bahl? Still a good D prospect but not quite a Soderstrom level talent

Shero can demand him all he wants. if that is the ask for Hall as a rental then Arizona will walk.

Arizona is doing really well this year. It makes no sense to change the lineup so drastically like this. If they do make a move on Hall (which I want badly) they wont be taking on any other roster players.
