(NJD/TBL) - Coleman for Foote and 2020 1st round pick
Coleman is a nice player, but for a 28-year-old winger with a career high of 36 points, this seems a tad excessive, no?

Sabres accept before you realize Chiarelli is still in the building. We get to upgrade our 3RD AND get a 1st round pick? It's Christmas all year, kids!

if we give up to much more I don't think it's worth it. Also depends on what were the real problems with Halls last stint in Edmonton, anyone have a proven source on that?</div></div>
I think you're underestimating Samorukov and overestimating Brannstrom.

The defense is really starting to shape up! I would run different pairings though:
Dahlin - Montour
Gardiner - Jokiharju
McCabe - Miller

(OTT/TOR) - Ceci, Harpur, Luchuk and 2020 3rd round pick for Zaitsev, Brown, Carcone
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsForEver</b></div><div>They got a non-starter defensemen in Harpur and Ceci who is just as bad as Zaitsev. It pretty much equals Brown for a 3rd round pick.
If Dubas can sign Ceci to a decent contract, I would say Toronto wins, but it's close either way</div></div>
What you're missing is that Toronto was locked into Zaitsev's contract for 5 years. Ceci will probably be signed to a 1 year contract and if he decides to go to arbitration the Leafs can just walk away making Ceci a UFA. So essentially they may have conned Ottawa into taking on the Zaitsev contract for free!

Carolina Hurricanes signed Sebastian Aho (5 Years / $8,460,250 AAV)
Awesome contract for whichever team ends up with the player. IMO Aho is better than Marner, for $8.5M over 5 years this will be a steal. We'll be talking about this contract in 3 years the way we talk about Bergeron, Scheifele and MacKinnon today.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ConnorMcHellebucyk</b></div><div>Ott wins cause of brown</div></div>
Meh. Ottawa gave up a 3rd for Brown, that's more than he was worth under the circumstances IMO. I think Toronto just dumped $6M in salary and <em><strong>actually got some stuff back in return</strong></em>. This is a genius move especially coming on the heels of the Marleau trade.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DDoverChucky</b></div><div>Must Ceci sign with the Leaves? Is his cap hit going to be at least what he got last year?</div></div>
Great question: if the Leafs refuse to sign after the arbitration hearing doesn't he just become a UFA? Then this whole thing is a cap dump by Dubas. Maybe the mods could shed some light? <a href="/users/Banks" target="_blank">@Banks</a> <a href="/users/CapFriendly" target="_blank">@CapFriendly</a>

Pretty sure that 2nd pick isn't far off NJ's 3rd.
(Just checked, 61 v 65... and the Devils no longer have 65 because they traded it to... wait for it... the Oilers. Although they do have the Ducks pick at 70 and the Stars pick at 80.)

1. I doubt Edmonton does that, 2. I'm happy with the deal as is. I think Puljujarvi is better than Nylander today and has greater upside too, if we could pull this off I'd be happy.
Both played for crappy teams but at least Puljujarvi made the NHL squad all 3 years, Nylander didn't. Both played in the AHL (Nylander much more so), and Puljujarvi's scoring rate in that league is well above Nylanders. And they're the same age (actually Alex is 2 months older).
