I cant see the flames taking paeguea back. I understand the islanders need money in money out. This makes me question the fit.

The flames would want alot to take Paguae especially since we just moved a 1st to clear one year if Monahan.

Gotta disagree with you there. Especially because we can retain him to 2.5m, take some cap back if needed, he's 26 #2 two way D with over 600 games. Strong skater, has size and his durable.

He's the perfect complimentary D. The only down side about him is that he isn't an elite #1 guy.

Romanov is fine #4 D but there is more then a 2nd in the difference between the two.

Pageaus is a negative value asset for the flames.

I would easily rather have a mid 1st + 2nd then the deal you offered.

The OP trade is terrible for the islanders but your trade is almost just as terrible for the flames.

This is a bad take. Hanifin easily gets a 1st. I don't think NJD I'd a good fit.

Except he's not. He's a 26 year old #2. He's a top 60 and even top 30 in most metrics amongst defence.
Even as a rental he should fetch atleast a 1st and a 2nd.

Really? Seems like they're pretty leaky. 30th in goals against, 13th xGA, 3rd HDA and 2nd in HDCO%. Doesn't seem like a goalie issue since their goaltending is 13th in the league in Sv%.

To me it seems like they have a solid Top 2 of Power and Dahlin but Samuelsson and Jokiharju are playing a bit above where they are at.

They may eventually grow into the roles.

Yeah I don't think that would be a sticking point for the flames. I'd probably lean towards Boqvist more sinces he's younger with more upside. I liked Bean because as you said he's played well recently and he's a Calgary native.

Wouldn't be worth it for the flames. Garland is just below 5m for 2 more seasons after this one. I think if the Canucks want to open up that 5m of cap space over the next couple seasons they'll have to pay more then a 4th.

I get it if Canucks are happy to keep Garland, but I feel like if they could move him for a 4th it would of been done already.

I think including a boqvist/peeke/bean/whatever instead of roslovic makes more sense.

I think we could find a better trade for hanifin especially with 59% retained.

Flames have 0 need for debrusk with the direction they're going given his age and contract status. Lysell is also not a very interesting prospect for the flames for lindholm. A late 1st 2025 1st is also not that enticing. There will be alot of demand for Lindholm.

Lindholm would cost poitras + 2025 1st minimum

I don't want Olofsson at all. Wouldn't take him for free. Rosen isn't anything special. He's like your 5th best prospect. He'd be like 4 for us.
