Leafs TDL Fun
Nope. This ain't it.
Not for the teams involved and not for the team in Toronto.

another yotes deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rgwhite17</b></div><div>Don’t see sandin being included in this deal. They will want to add onto Rielly, Brodie, sandin, not subtract a piece.</div></div>
Then they likely aren't getting Chychrun.
Any potential deal the Leafs make for Chychrun starts with Sandin and a 2022 1st, (in my opinion).
Adding Chychrun makes Sandin expendable. Here's the thing... I don't think the Leafs want to do that.
Just because I proposed the trade of <strong>Holl + Sandin + Robertson + 1st 2022</strong> as something that Arizona would be interested in doesn't mean that I would do it as a Leafs fan.
My point is... you are not getting something tangible for nothing. The original trade is not enough to get both players and a retention included on Chychrun that Arizona will be paying for the next three years.
It just isn't.

Holl + Sandin + Robertson + 1st 2022... probably gets it pretty close to done.

That'd probably do it I'd say. Yeesh!
No way he comes here and plays on the bottom pair though.

Absolutely brutal.
I'm just going to assume that this is a joke. The only "likely" thing about this is the jaw dropping laughter on the Columbus end of the phone after that proposal.

The 1st + 2nd + Robertson probably gets you Miller alone. The rest is just fluff that Vancouver would have no interest in at all.

Until they start getting a save once and a while we can all expect the same results. Sub .900 in the calendar year ain't gonna cut it.

Replacing Muzz and Shoring Up D
I doubt the Islanders would do that but... the other two trades are definitely doable. I would guess that Montreal would want a 1st closer to the upcoming draft but.... there are only so many picks available. They'll likely get an offer they like more from someone else.
The Lyubushkin acquisition probably makes that Chiarot trade far less important from a Leafs perspective and I wouldn't do it just to play him on the bottom pair.
I absolutely LOVE that top four D though. Unlikely but... nice work.

Chychrun
That is the kind of package that it will take to get Chychrun. Anyone who thinks otherwise just doesn't understand the game.
Ask yourself this.... Is this team even worth that kind of investment of futures? I don't think they are a contender even with Chychrun. Last night's embarrassment just furthers my thoughts on that.
There are deeper issues with this team that most people can't see because they are blinded by their winning percentage and regular season point totals.
"Soft and Purposeless" was a very accurate assessment. I'm not talking about adding goons and knuckle draggers when I say that. Just players that are prepared to leave it ALL on the ice night in and night out.
We have very few of those kinds of guys in Toronto at present. Hard work trumps skill when skill isn't prepared to work hard.

Its just not enough man.
Even if the Islanders wanted to trade Mayfield, (no idea why they would considering his usage and his cap hit), they could do A LOT better than this offer.

Far too much movement. This would never happen. One or two additions expected IMO.
Most teams decline these offers. Retentions are a big deal that carry a hefty price. That Anaheim one is probably pretty close but, I still think they'd say no.

I say we make a trade
That is the kind of trade I see coming involving Ritchie.
No retention on the Leafs part, (or very minimal), and a higher level pick attached.
Its just the cost of doing business cleaning up a mistake. Nothing wrong with that.

What we need to do
All very far fetched. (The retentions are absolute dealbreakers here).
It'd be wise to check injury updates before assembling stuff like this.
Not very likely that any of these teams would be very keen on paying all of these guys NOT to play for them for multiple years.
In a nutshell.... not very realistic.

Colin Miller plus more
Aside from the Copp trade, (which I like), this all seems pretty lateral to me. Maybe even trending down instead of up.
It'd be nice to get rid of Ritchie and his dead money but, I don't want that junk in return. I'd rather just attach an asset and move him for a very low round draft pick. Something like... Ritchie + 3rd for a 7th. Just get it right off the books.
Just my two cents.

I have no interest in Klingberg at all. He's not what the Leafs need IMO. Pass there.
The Flyers could likely do better in a CG trade without having to take on a bad salary in return. Especially with a retention. Those two guys are probably served better in separate deals. I don't see Giroux as a Leafs target to be honest.

Of course YOU would. You are a Canucks fan.
Shocking.
I just find it amusing that it takes a CBJ fan to come up with a realistic trade scenario between Vancouver and Toronto. Both fanbases are far too enamoured with their own.

Both Vancouver trades suggestions are very much in the ballpark. (Sorry Leaf fans who feel otherwise). Those returns are exactly what Vancouver is expecting for those players and will likely get if they decide to move them.
Nice bit of very realistic work here! Well done!

Easiest no from the Leafs that I've given in a while. (And I'm pretty open minded about this stuff).
That is a horrible trade from a Leafs perspective.
Even if you view the 2nd rounder as the "cost of doing business" for Vancouver to take on Ritchie's contract, Dermott + Knies for the ghost of Travis Hamonic is terrible.
Hard no.

Opinion on values
I think you are in the ballpark but, still lite on all three suggestions.
If the Arizona trade was a 1st rounder, you'd probably be pretty close.
I don't see the motivation for the Islanders to break up their top pair on D that is cost controlled for Travis Dermott and a late 1st rounder but, maybe I'm off base there.
The Vancouver trade is probably the closest to doable as it is but I still think the Canucks could do better elsewhere. Especially if they traded those guys in two separate deals.
All in all.... not horrible. Just probably not enough as they are in all three situations.
