Lol. That “report” was 1 reporter asking Keefe why he started his worst defenceman in a game in Tampa. To which Keefe replied with “who’s our worst defenceman?” .. that was the reporters opinion as to who the worst is, that’s not a report of anything. Lmao.

That doesn’t get you Nylander. Doesn’t do anything to help the Leafs.
Nyquist is a substantial downgrade from Nylander and Foudy is in bust territory. The picks don’t really help Toronto accomplish their goal so there’s really nothing of value here to be considered

Cant wait till after the draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tbrew</b></div><div>There is so much wrong with what you just said, that it convinced me that I grossly overpaid for Marner. Thanks!</div></div>
Not one thing I said was wrong actually. & just because you disagree with it, doesn’t make it wrong. Teams that are trying to win don’t value prospects and high picks as much because those don’t help a team win for usually 3-5 years minimum. The only piece you’ve moved that helps Toronto achieve their goal of winning is Severson and he’d be a 1 year rental. & it’s actually downgrading the team to loss Marner and add Severson. The rest of the package is too much unknown to be valued by Toronto.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BlackwoodForVezina</b></div><div>Way to much for marner</div></div>
Not really when you actually break it down.
Severson is another Jake Gardiner type of guy and he’s only got 1 year left on his deal - there was a reason why Gardiner was ran out of Toronto and Severson likely wouldn’t fair too well either.
Holtz is a good prospect but he’s just that. He could be a stud or a bust, no one knows yet and moving a guy like Marner requires something known that’s good going back.
Tatar and McLeod are nothing more than bottom 6 guys - Tatar likely thrown in as part of a cap neutralizing player and he’s not really of any value to Toronto because they’re already full on wingers and prospects that play the wing.
2nd overall is nice, but again just a prospect. Same with the future pick. & when Toronto is trying to win now those don’t help at all.
Marner is a top 10 player in the league, it’s gonna take at least 4-5 quality assists to help the team win now to get him out of Toronto. This offer isn’t really it. It has value, sure. But it’s not the type of value for a Marner deal

Bring in the Tanks
Fast and easy pass from Toronto - Kerfoot isn’t a cap dump and moving him starts with a 1st going back to Toronto. Leafs goalie pipeline is pretty thin, Woll is the best of them so it doesn’t make sense to move him. Kubalik isn’t worth is qualifying offer and it’s going to scare teams away. Wouldn’t move him for Kerfoot or Woll straight up. You’ll likely see Chicago get a pick for him, maybe an older prospect who needs a change of scenery. But his value isn’t that high for this deal

This site and people like you have too much tunnel vision. Gaudreau had one good season after 2 subpar seasons and a very lacklustre playoff history. & that good season came in a contract year when guys are motivated more. That does NOT get you over $10m. That’s absolutely ludicrous. I’d bet anything on him not getting anything more than $9.5m at absolute most, especially with teams recovering from the pandemic losses.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>No, trading Nylander isn't unrealistic. But going with 20 man roster and trading NTC Muzzin to a non playoff team is beyond silly.</div></div>
News flash: Leafs have been toying with 20 man rosters for years. They know how to work the cap and call players up to make it work. It’s really not that big of a deal, especially with their farm team in the same city.
& players waive NTC’s and NMC’s all the time. Saying he won’t is pure nonsense because you don’t know what the player is thinking. I don’t think Muzzin is getting moved this summer anyways, but regardless players still waive all the time - those are mainly put in place so players aren’t blind sided with a trade.
Stop with the same old act you always have on here. It’s pure ignorance at this point.

That person’s name is not Liljegren. Have you seen him play with Rielly? They’re awful together. They’re both guys that need to be the primary puck mover and struggle when it comes to one on one battles.. you can’t have 2 of those on the same pair. Liljegren will be a fine top 4 option, but on a second pair and not beside Rielly. That pair would be eaten alive defensively. Splitting them up was the exact reason Toronto got Lyubushkin to play with Rielly (stay at home guy who isn’t a primary puck mover) and Giordano to play with Liljegren (defensive first kind of guy).
Liljegren is not a future top pairing guy and is not defensively responsible enough to play with Rielly.

Karlsson >>> Armia
Theodore is also worth more than this package alone. #1 defenceman on great contracts don’t come along very often, and when they do they’re not available for trade and if they are if for a heck of a lot more than a cap dump and 2 picks

$3m is what Campbell should get. Why should he get anymore? He’s not a starter in this league. Hasn’t won a playoff series. Is highly inconsistent. On the wrong side of 30. He’s exactly what Mrazek is & Mrazek is overpaid at $3.8m.. so how is $3m a lowball on a league average goalie?
Husso is in the same boat. 1 year of good play doesn’t get you paid like that. Have some sort of a track record and then you deserve that kinda money

Leafs absolutely need a defenceman. Someone to play with Rielly long term. Then second pair can be Sandin and Brodie and third pair Muzzin and Liljegren. That’s a hell of a defence core then.
Personally, I’d love Matt Roy to pair with Rielly (it’d be Roy + for Nylander) but the fit is there - add in a younger player to replace Nylander and a pick and I think it fits both teams nicely

Kerfoot and Muzzin have been fine. Both likely staying. Tavares has been underrated in the series - he’s not producing which he should be and it sucks, but he’s still key in face offs. That’s too valuable to just throw away.
Relax. It’s still a 2-2 series and Toronto has dominated most of the games.

There’s very little chance that Vancouver moves Miller without a young right handed defenceman going back the other way and there’s absolutely no chance they’re retaining 50% without getting one.

Quickly denied by Toronto. Engvall is one of the most underrated players in the league - guy is a beast defensively and brings a ton of speed and size. A perfect third line option and likely a big reason why Toronto wouldn’t make the Hagel/Fleury trade. I don’t see him available this off-season until contract talks go way south

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GenXHockey</b></div><div>Pretty stupid excuse to trade nylander. He is having a great career in a very loud market.</div></div>
It’s stupid to “sell low” on him just for draft picks - that does nothing. Leafs aren’t looking to rebuild and don’t need to move him just for cap. If he’s moved (which I think is the right idea this off-season) it’s gotta be for a bonafide top 4 right handed defenceman or a quality goalie. Gibson from Anaheim could fit that, but I think that’s a major deal that would have multiple parts to it
