Probably Lucius but I'm just basing that mostly on the opinions of others, cant say I've seen a lot of these guys play much so far.

Guys can be moved in the summer, like is Iafallo extending or should he even be extended at his age/price?
I just can't stomach selling prime assets for rentals, look how much of a difference Nino and Namestnikov are making, I've been screaming for Chevy to make those kind of moves for years! Why wouldn't another move or two like those be enough?
I know the big splash moves are exciting BUT they don't often work and we're all aware that Winnipeg needs its 1st round picks for long term sustainability of putting a quality product on the ice, just can't be tossing them away on rentals imo.
Even if Lambert is ready to be a 2C next season they can move someone else out including Granlund or just have really good depth for a season, would be surprised if the Jets put a rookie at 2C, history says they won't do that.
Idk, just my $0.02 on the idea of making a big 2C addition.

Debatable if it's deeper then the 17-18 that lost in the conference finals.
They'd have to be extending Lindholm if they're parting with a 1st and Lambert. I don't care about Stanley but he is depth for the playoffs, if he isn't needed to be included for cap purposes and the Flames were indifferent on him I'd keep him.

Agreed, this would absolutely be the deepest forward group the Jest have had.
In regards to the trade, I have a real hard time including Big Bad Brad, would much rather add a prospect like Lucius. If Lambert is a must to beat other offers, maybe Jets look to their 2nd option. With that being said...Lindholm is the perfect acquisition the Jets could make. Tough decision.

Opening day lines
Jarnkrok would be a nice addition for the Jets, don't know where he'd fit though as I think they'll definitely want Kupari in the lineup and Jarnkrok does have trade protection so there's that, they tried to sign him last offseason but he opted for Toronto instead.
I wouldn't mind another depth signing, a guy like Heinen would be good to add but ultimately I think Chevy is done other then the eventual signings of Stanley and Chisholm for around league minimum. I bet the holdup is both guys are hoping to be traded, Chisholm is getting a two-way deal and is probably trying to get a higher AHL salary but the Jets are being cheap and only offering like $80K or something like that, Chisholm sees what his old D partner got from San Jose and is thinking 'why am I not getting that' and I also bet they're trying to get Stanley to sign a two-way contract to save some actual cash cause there's a good chance they'll send him down and if he clears waivers they don't want to be paying him $775K to play in the AHL.
Just mind boggling that they haven't done anything to clear this blueline backlog and that they value Capobianco more then many of the dmen they drafted, if Heinola hasn't officially requested a trade already we'll likely be hearing about one after this upcoming camp.

Tear it down
No way would Washington do that, the Jets should've traded for Strome at the 2022 TDL to get his RFA rights but ya know it was more important to get Appleton back and Zach Sanford... 🙄
Stanley isn't worth an early 2nd, I could see him MAYBE getting a very late 2nd from a team but more likely that he's just worth a 3rd.
Can't see the Habs trading Dach, that'd be a nice return for PLD but it ain't happening.
They should've traded for Domi in the past but signing him now seems unlikely, he'd sign back with Chicago before he'd sign in Winnipeg.
Would be great to have a 4 line attack especially a 3rd line that isn't a black hole but it just isn't happening with this organization, they seem infatuated with bad bottom six hockey players for some strange reason.
Idk how anyone can enjoy the Barron/Lowry/Appleton, they're painful to watch.

1). Stanley is not worth 36 overall. Not even close.
2) sharks are loaded on LHD and that’s the last thing we’d be adding.

Winnipeg doesn’t have the luxury of trading for a guy and putting 8x on him. Nobody going to check enough boxes and have winnipeg on the top of their list for contract extension. So that basically stalls it at this point. Stone or toews a few years back possibly, but still doubt that. Jets draft, develop and possibly reward, then repeat.

Bennett
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TrueNorth</b></div><div>I read an article that he was being shopped to clear cap space. Hockey writers.com</div></div>
Just speculation by Seravalli. No basis to it at all. Look at it from a logical POV. Barkov has missed quite a few games this year due to injury and if they move Bennett they have a real problem with center depth if he goes down again. They aren't rebuilding any time remotely soon with their lack of picks either so they have to just take this as an off year and regroup next year.
Right now Florida is like Vegas from last year. They gutted theor depth for what was essentially not a significant upgrade in Huberdeau to Tkachuk. However it will benefit them long term. This season they were very cap strapped due to buyout cap hits and the Hornqvist contract in it's final year. However next year, even with the Knight extension they will still have a relevant amount of cap space to address the core problems with their current roster (namely the defense). Vegas didn't sell off core players last year and neither should Florida

Yeah, it's odd. I know WPG isn't necessarily a destination city for player, but it's not like they're AZ. Scheifele, Ehlers, Connor, PLD, Pionk, Morrisey and Hellebuyck is a very nice core to retool around. Not to mention some solid depth players and even with Wheeler's contract you have cap space to spare.
I feel like a retool doesn't even have to be that drastic. Two or three solid moves and you're a playoff team.

Rodrigues agent said that the 2-3 teams that they believe are a good fit are trying to clear cap space to sign him. If that doesn't pan out (or they get tired of waiting), then I guess they consider the other teams further down on the list.

I like WPG as a landing spot for ERod. He needs a team where he has a shot at a bigger role than he had when the Pens got fully healthy.

There’s a reason why Winnipeg hasn’t signed Milano or ERod, and it’s not on the jets end.

Since Rodrigues isn't signed yet, I think you get him way cheaper than that. Signing a one year deal.to bet on himself is probably his only option, unless he loves PTOs.
I agree on the Barron assessment. He has the game to be a very good 3rd line guy - and needs playing time to do that.
What I will say is that this ine of the few Jets ACGMs that actually addresses the team biggest need: scoring from the 3rd and 4th lines. They have been black holes of production over the last two years.

Jets at a point where they need to play one of that 5th line every night, barron and harkins need to be playing minimum. Would also be nice to find a rhd dman to push the vets on that side and move on from stanley or Dillon. Lowry and wheeler playing together is going to awful, pity the poor guy that has to play with those two. Don’t really need fogele and kerfoot, but one wouldn’t hurt. If the plan is Connor/Dubois, and scheifele/wheeler, and Lowry/Appleton, there’s a couple lw battles and one rw spot, outside of the 4th line. Ehlers and perfetti probably first opportunity for top two lines, so leaving lw for Lowry/Appleton, possibly harkins, but there’s a need for a depth forward and upgrade possibly. Will be a interesting squad.

Jets will probably keep more cap room available to account for bonuses so that they don't get nailed with significant bonus overages in 2023-24.
Edit: I think it will cost the Jets to trade away Schmidt (assuming there are any takers).

Interesting seeing Heinola on his offside. IMHO Demelo should be with Morrissey because that pair was great last year and Heinola should be on the left side with Pionk. Those two also looked good together and then a bottom pair of Samberg and Dillion is a solid shutdown. My only concern is that Bowness has developed a tall guy like Stanley before (Oleksiak), so he could also get playing time

Switch Samberg with heinola and make that the 2nd pair with the 3rd being Dillon - schmidt/demelo I'd prefer Rodriguez to Motte as a right shot would be nice but Motte Milano steel all could have an impact

Barring a trade by WPG, this is pretty damn close. The only suggestion I would make is to swap Wheeler for Ehlers and then slide Perfetti over to 2LW.

I could see a depth signing like Motte, as middle and lower class UFAs have been squeezed this offseason and will be less picky and look for any deal with training camp around the corner. In terms of forward lines, I think Connor and Dubois will be together as they showed great chemistry last season and I believe Samberg leapfrogged Heinola on the depth chart as he finished the season with Pionk, while Heinola was with the Moose.
