defense potential logjam
With what MB said this summer about KK being brought up to the NHL too early, I think they will be patient with both Guhle and Norlinder. Guhle will have top pair ice time in the Juniors, will be captain and probably same for team canada juniors. He will make the team next year. As for Norlinder, I would send him to Laval so he can get used to the smaller ice and also so he can get more mature physically.
With that said, that leaves us to Wideman, Kulak and Niku for the remaining spots. With them being up that will give the youngsters another year of development.

Well balanced. Although I do think MB will make a move before the season starts, if he doesn't I would be okay with that roster. Just swap toffoli and lehkonen !

Maybe Armia and a later round pick? If MTL was trading Guhle for Roslovic, it’d be WPG that would have to add imo</div></div>
Montreal definitely have plenty of picks.

Cap wise it's an interesting trade for the Habs but I don't think MB would give up Chiarot. He's really in for building a Saint-Louis/Tampa Bay style defense with big and strong defensemen. Chiarot his forming a great pair with Weber and there's no one that can take his place for the moment. We can't assume Romanov will be able to take top pair responsabilities right away and that would hurt his development.

I would definitely prefer doing this trade but would the Jets take it ? I mean apart from Poehling first NHL game where he scored a hat trick, he proved nothing. Roslovic played 2 complete season at NHL level and put up some reasonable stats.

I thought about Poehling but I think his value is at his lowest right now. Chose Guhle because it fills Jets need at mid-long term but also because of all our defensive prospects coming in and I think we have a lot of good ones. So yeah me too I would be kind of sad letting him go but I think the habs are now in position to make such trade prospect wise.

GO HABS GO
I like the fact that the Wild definitely has a need at C and Peohling would have a shot. He's from Minnesota also. But aren't we sending too much salary to them ? How about : Byron (with retention) + Poehling + mid round pick for Rask (with retention). He can act as an insurance policy at 4C in case Evans isn't ready. Just a thought like that but otherwise I dont see this trade as far fetched.

Actual roster and taxi squad
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>markmws</b></div><div>Great question (and thank you for not being mean in your reply! :) ) I would (and this is just me) select Laurent Dauphin, Blandisi or Vejdemo, and maybe Olofsson on defense. Dauphin, Blandisi and Vejdemo have NHL experience - albeit a small amount - and at least could play a passable role on the fourth line. Same is said for Olofsson: I wouldn't trust him with 15 minutes a night, but if you asked him to play 10-11 sheltered minutes, he would probably be fine (and that's all a team would probably ask a taxi squad player to play anyway, right? They have so many defensemen that the likelyhood of Olofsson playing is minute at best. Same goes for any of those three forwards).</div></div>
No problem, I like it when we can discuss and propose solution without being mean and insult so ! Your propositions for the taxi squad seems about right, will definitely take those in account for my next AGM.

Actual roster and taxi squad
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TGDline</b></div><div>love the 4th line best in the league for sure. M.B has to get Danault signed long term. Weal time is up! That trade coming next.</div></div>
I think you're right about Weal, he definitely is the odd man that will either be traded or Buried. As for Danault, I think MB is waiting to see how Poehling will perform at camp. If he shows signs that he can take that 3C spot, I think that would mean the end for Danault :/ Personally, I don't think Poehling will be ready. He will need some ice time in the AHL. So that brings us back to Danault's situation. I appreciate what he brings to the team and I even think he could bring more. Therefore, MB need to think about Petry and Gally's new contracts coming in play and also the youngster coming in that we'll also need to pay soon enough (Suzuki, KK, Romanov, Caufield). I could see him sign a similar contract that Jean-Gabriel Pageau signed with the Isles but not more. 6 x 5 or 5.5. It's in his camp to choose, yes he could probably get more elsewhere but he can stay home and get less but with a competitive team. In the end, he's the one that will decide his fate. Really interesting to see how that will go.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>markmws</b></div><div>If he's not getting regular minutes with the Canadiens, it may be a better idea for the Habs to send Poehling down to the AHL and get big minutes there. I could see them doing that. I can also see Fleury and Leskinen being sent down, as both will get big minutes in Laval and neither are waiver eligable yet.
I wonder if GMMB still has something in the works.</div></div>
I agree with you. I've put thoses 3 in the taxi squad because of their NHL experience from recent years but if there's a season in the AHL they would benefit the ice time at Laval. If it's the case and they do get to play in Laval, who do you propose to replace them in the taxi squad ?

You'll never receive a franchise player like huberdeau in return for only galchenyuk who showed great flashs but who's more of a bust for the moment, if you wanna trade him in a 1 vs 1 trade, you'll have to try players who has potential like him but who arent delivering too, 2 players in that category would be Sam Reinhart and Sam Bennett in my opinion. And for the Drasaitl trade, edmonton is cleary not a good trade partner for Price's massive contract, specially with Mcdavid's 12.5 millions cap hit starting next year, trading Price includes at least 25% of salary being retained for him to become attractive on the market. As for the Arizona trade, habs cleary loses that one, duclair is struggling to have a roster spot with the worst team in the league right now and demers will take Juulsen spot which you're suppose to let him play as a top 4 D prospect if you wanna rebuild.

Rebuild
Luongo is 38 years old.... he wont be able to do the job for years to come plus with Reimer as a backup they would appreciate having price as a #1 goalie for 8 more years to come. As for the subban trade, you trade him before his NMC clause comes in application. I found we have Lindgren showed good flashs and following a rebuild where you give young guns time of ice you let them learn by playing and live with them mistakes, thats how you build a championship team, chicago dit it, toronto is doing it, you dont get a championship team by paying your goalie 10.5 millions and patching up your horrible draft history and youth developpement by overpaying veterans like plekanec and shaw.... Concerning pacioretty trade, i found it interesting because hes a consistent 30+ goal scorer and signed one more year at 4.5 millions which is an excellent cap hit for a scorer like him, with price he's the one that would bring up the more significant return and i find that fleury would fill the hole at the defense prospects created by the sergachev trade, lastly it would get a good bank of draft picks for one of the deepest draft years to build up strong for the future.
