If somebody wants to pay that much for Mayfield (and it isn’t Dallas) I will be happy for the Isles as I do like the team and most Isles fans are pretty solid to talk to, yourself included. I understand your thought process on 2RD. I just don’t care for the trade. I don’t think Dallas is good enough to be trading first or even second round picks. Obviously need to see how things go under DeBoer, but I’d be very surprised if the need on the back end wasn’t for an offensive dman</div></div>

Jfresh is just one player card that can’t even accurately show what quality of competition the player is up against.
You’re trying to take shots at analytics now because better analytics platforms have shown that Pageau is not close to an 87% WAR player.
This is common for people like you who don’t understand all the different metrics. You post a chart that you found on Twitter when you don’t understand anything about it, someone posts more accurate metrics and you get defensive and then ignore analytics entirely.</div></div>
Lmao your own analytics say that pageau is in the 69th percentile in total offensive war. Yet you called him a black hole offensively and say hes bad. So whos ignoring analytics and getting defensive?

Hes not trying to use it to say a player is good. Its just as important to understand how to use a stat as it is to understand that stat in the first place. The only reason he has QOC and QOT on the cards is to help understand a players deployment.

No im just saying the chart you posted as a sort of 'proof' to your opinion shows the exact opposite of your opinion.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Db1899</b></div><div>You are wrong, QOC and QOT is not only based on TOI, most reliable platforms incorporate CF%.
That's the issue and why Jfresh model doesn't isolate a players impact as well as Hockey viz or Evolving Hockey. Evolving hockey also uses multiple different charts/metrics so you can properly evaluate a player instead of just posting one jfresh card and think it's a 100% accurate reputation of his overall impact.</div></div>
Actually jfresh says straight out that his QOC and QOT stats are based solely on TOI. And considering thats the only chart that had QOC and QOT on it im going to assume that what you were talking about.

He was boosted by his linemates which put him at 85 overall in 19-20 for offense.
Pageaus offense was 62 and 61 the last two most of his value represented by shooting. His play driving offensively is a huge weakness which is why context is important. Can't just look at jfresh's EV Offense and come to a conclusion on his offensive impact. You should look at all the available data and form your own opinion...it's hilarious that you were the one that brought analytics into this , are worshiping Jfresh's player card and can't think for yourself on this topic. Ironic. You sound like a liberal who calls everyone a fascist for not seeing things the same way. Look in the mirror bud.</div></div>
Got it so 62nd percentile and 61st percentile which is well above average is now considered a "black hole offensively". Good to know youre very objective and not at all narrative driven with your analysis of players.

1st mayfield is a lot better than hakanpaa. 2nd maybe they go for an offensive dman and mayfield gets moved somewhere else but thats the going rate for players like him and dallas does need a RD2 thats why i picked them.

So again. Please tell me how this is much worse than the debrincat deal who is a significantly better player. And its better than the fiala deal though MIN didnt have all the leverage. I mean arent they running colin miller as their RD2? Maybe that was just a hallucination, my bad. Either way trying to predict what teams are going to be interested in certain players at the TDL is practically impossible. But there are always teams looking for big physical top 4 dmen (think savard chiarot manson)

Like i wrote in the description if you had any care to read it, it could be any team. As for their need for varlamov considering theyre trying to win a cup with matt murray and ilya samsonov i would calm down just a little with saying they dont need an upgrade.
Just like your lack of logic with the 1st half of your statement, you again display a lack of sensibility with this side of it. Look at the trades made recently for 1st line wingers and please tell me how this deal is so much worse than any of them? But you cant bc you dont let actual deals that happen irl affect your valuations of trade values. You decide what you think a player shoild be worth instead of using comps to try to determine what a player is worth.

SJS may still get some great prospects in the 20s of the 2023 draft, but it's not the kind of player they could get with a lot pick. They may ask as high as a Romanov or potential superstar in Raty in the absence of another late first.
To acquire a bubble elite RFA is going to hurt, whoever can pry him from SJS. And SJS has to admit that their window has closed, which they are still publicly stating they are in compete now mode.
As for money, I figure in the 9-10 range, assuming he shows last year wasn't a fluke.</div></div>
Stop it. 9-10 range that means you think he gets money like gaudreau and tkachuk. Does he get close to barkov/point? And those guys are Cs. Answer is obviously not. I think youre much more in the robert thomas/jordan kyrou/kevin fiala range than you are with barkov/point/tkachuk.
I understand the want of a close to sure thing which this package doesnt really provide, but i think from a pure value standpoint it works. Though i do get that the lack of a top 10 pick or top prospect regardless of value could be a dealbreaker.
