Yes, losing Cates sucks ***, but return is something Flyers would also like. Good trade which benefits both as long as TK is also signed for reasonable price.

Yeah, Risto has actually been good player, just somewhat overpaid, but that's not a problem for Flyers right now. No reason to pay for moving him.

I just don't know if Liljegren is a fit, we'd rather need LHD pair for Drysdale if Sanheim is still playing on right side. And tbh I'd just play Zamula, he looked solid this year and could just give him a chance to show what he's got. Liljegren would be 3rd 6ft or under D in our top6.
Value wise it's probably fair deal for both, but we need Frost more than Lily/Robertson right now. Make it just 2nd for Robertson, add some later pick if necessary.

This is terrible idea unless it includes Chicagos 2nd ovr aswell. RyJo & Atkinson actually have good contracts compared to Jones.

If Jeannot can play solid LW, could see Flyers being interested for 3rd or 4th, not 2nd though.

Fedotov and Ersson. And really high 2nd would be hefty price for 25 year old goalie who's played 44 games in NHL anyways. And also we don't have that pick.

Could see Flyers considering this. Niemela is interesting, though undersized, D prospect. And Holmberg is useful guy in 4th line with Poehling and Hathaway.

They would better re-sign Matt Roy for a comparable amount instead of taking the contract of Ristolainen, who has not performed as good as in Buffalo since joining the Flyers. (But they are probably not signing him to a new deal with Clarke emerging and Spence having a solid last season) I'd give up the first rounder for Chychrun but not for that package</div></div>
Actually Risto is really good defensively right now, something you can't say about his time in Buffalo. Point production is ofc less, as he ain't playing PP unlike in Buffalo.

When is the window opening
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Haymaker26</b></div><div>As a heads up, I'm coming at this as a Penguins fan. I come in (relative) peace.
I think it would be a lot better for yinz if Cutter Gauthier was willing to stick around. Michkov looks poised for superstardom, but he's the only guy I think is a guaranteed star. There are a lot of solid role players, Tippett, Cates, Frost, York, etc. But those guys are not guys you build a contender around. Rizzo and Bonk look like they could be solid players as well and Philly is flush with goalie prospects, but I don't think anyone in the system other than Michkov is a franchise keystone.
I honestly think it would've been in the Flyer's best interest to sell at the deadline and get as high a pick as possible. If a team that could get you an earlier 1st for Konecny, I'd have taken it, as good as he's been for the Flyers. As mentioned already, you need a 1C and 1D. I think the Flyers could still end up with one of Catton, Buium, maybe even Parekh, and that would go a long way towards long-term success. But if they had the option of a Lindstrom or Levshunov (even one of those guys and the aformentioned Catton/Buium/Parekh from a Konecny deal), they'd be in position for a much better future.</div></div>
These are fair points, just nothing we didn't know already :) But first of all, we ain't speaking about quitter gauthier.
Ofc our team played A LOT better than anyone expected this season, but also was kinda unfortunate that you, Sabres, Devils and even freaking Senators were so bad. TK should have been traded last summer tbh, when his value was at highest, but TDL would have also worked, as he has one more year in his contract. But @ TDL the problem is that buyer will most likely be some contender and most of them doesn't have good prospect pool/high pick.
Somehow I believe Catton will fall to us, Buium or Parekh doesn't. And I still wouldn't mind trading TK, if we get a good value, but ofc return wouldn't be that high as it would have been year ago. Maybe with 50% retention could get something actually nice as then he'd fit on pretty much every team *krhm* Canucks *krhm*.

redo of Frost trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>cmarch</b></div><div>I think with Torts not liking Couturier and Frost I could see you guys trading Frost. Even if you're not a fan of the 1st you can then flip that for a center that Torts would want</div></div>
I still think Torts likes Coots, was just a big stretch for him to play full regular season after missing 2 years and couldn't get the best out.
Frost on the other hand though, doesn't really seem to be a fit in Torts' system and could see them moving him. 20th ovr could be used to aqcuire young C or maybe trading up in draft if they are taking the longer way.

I think this would be something more appealing for Flyers than the Holmstrom one. Could see them considering this, if they decide to part ways with Frost. Though then they would need to look young C elsewhere.

The most realistic off-season including Michkov
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>batman</b></div><div>Why did the give Fedotov that much money he wasn’t good at all</div></div>
It was reported that they had that extension in place already when he arrived but they couldn't make it until this season was over or smth. He's been (one of) the best goalie outside of NHL for a long time and even had one year between where he didn't play at all. And he'd have been UFA after this season so they made it sure that they can actually see him in action more than 2 games. It's low risk-high reward for Flyers imo, they ain't having cap problems so the money ain't problem, and now that he will have a full training camp etc, I could see him improving a lot. It's always a struggle to adjust into NHL rink and reading the plays for someone who comes from KHL or some other league with bigger ice.
I guess that's close the money he would have made in Russia as they don't really have taxes (13% or smth like that). Would he have accepted less, no idea.

I don't know which forward you mean.
But it was already reported that they actually consider bringing Johnson back, don't know about the money, might have made it too much, but right now cap ain't the problem
And like it or not, this is the likely scenario, they're (hopefully) not making a big splash.
