It’s nearly impossible to make 1-2 trades, Never mind 6 trades. I get the sentiment here, just think I’d work on limiting the trades to 2-3 teams maximum to closer reflect what could be a reality.

It’s basically a free pick and 1yr with a veteran leader around the team, for a team that has tons of cap space.

Bruins need an Offensive minded D, not another 2way/defensive guy IMHO. Would have liked Hannifin but not with Lindholm on the roster.

Trying to extract the most value in a future rebuild
Please name players who’ve not come back after double hip surgery? Would love to know anyone of Marchand’s caliber and durability to not come back.
P.s. did you not see him at Krejci’s wedding? A few months in (and a little booze), he looked no worse for wear. In fact, he’s probably better now than he’s been the last 2-3 seasons.
How many points did he put up with 2 bum hips?

Can Boston Reload On the Fly Again
Why does everyone think Reilly needs picks to get nothing in return. Talk about selling out and undervaluing a player.
The kid player top pairing and wasn’t horrible. Best suited as a 2nd pairing and you don’t add picks to move a 2nd pair D or a good contract.
You GET a 2nd for him, not send 2 3rds and get nothing back.
Aside from that, why is Studnicka not at center?

Why Worry
Studs isn’t waiver exempt anymore so he has to play on the big club or someone will grab him.
He’s out the work in and will get his shot. Play him, trade him, or lose him for nothing. The first option seems like the right one

McDavid
Mark my words. McDavid’s next contract will be with the Bruins. Long time Bruins fan and by that time, money won’t be the limiting factor on the deal.
There isn’t a trade on earth that a team can make to pry him away from Edmonton until his NMC kicks in and he says “I want to play for the Bruins only”.
Can’t wait for him to be a UFA.

Let me give my childhood friend a call and see if he can convince Kane to make that demand :)
I’m not really interested in adding more to dump
Foligno. Send him to the minors weekly until someone claims him or save the $1.2 for a season.

How much would it cost
Short answer. It costs you nothing to “dump” Reilly. He play top pair D and was above OK there. Better suited to a 2nd pairing and that isn’t something to have to add prospects and picks to “dump”.
Horrible take, and I never say that.

Free up cap build some depth
Wrong team for the Foligno trade and adding 2, 3rds is too much IMHO. Send him to the minors and keep the assets. Sweeney and team are pretty decent at the 2nd-3rd round picks. Keep them.
Chychrun deal looks good to me. Nobody is going to pay the asking price ARZ wants, and I’m pretty sure that was the deal that ARZ was offered and was really close to accepting. Bs went with Lindholm because they were still taking their time and the Bruins needed the guarantee.
Agree with other posters. Not likely to move Coyle easily… Smith to Ottawa for a 3rd would be fine, and the cap space is there based on your numbers to keep him in Boston. Some maneuvering required, but IR reclamation will help or simply don’t sign PK.

You’ve got to be kidding right. With Kane on the Bruins, they actually move the needle on being a cup contender. Marchy, Bergy, Kane might just be the best line in hockey for a season. Hall, Krejci, Pasta could be the 2nd best line in hockey.
Teams may offer better deals, but who has the assets and are close enough to a cup, with enough cap space to make it happen?

They need to get cap compliant don’t they? And if DeBrusk stays playing like he has, 30G and 60-70 pts is not out of the question.

Bruins decline. Two time 25+ goal scorer for a second round unproven player.
Make a package that includes Willie for DeBrusk+ and a deal could be made.
Bruins need motivation for Pasta to re-sign… and his best bud would do it

As a fan, I’d like for most of this to happen, but having seen the team management recently, there is a bit of a revolt going on.
The longer it goes without signing Bergy and Krejci, the less likely either will happen.
Are you sure you want Pullijiarvi? I watched a lot of Edmonton games, and I’m not sold. Would make an interesting perceived “bust line” Debrusk, Zacha, Pullijiarvi.

Yes Dubas. Yes! They need to make a change. DeBrusk may just equal Nylander’s stats on that team. Grze gives them a good 2LD to help them out. Spread the cap out a bit. Harder to do now with Grze out with surgery.
Bruins want Nylander to help hold onto Pasta.

Thread:
Should bruins do nothing at the deadline
Jake DeBrusk is getting traded and this sets off a cascade of moves. His agent is already negotiating the extension with one or more prospective teams so it’s likely there is a deal in place, pending the extension.
The Bruins need a 1RW once DeBrusk is gone. But trading DeBrusk for a RW rental doesn’t make sense for them IMHO. Just spend a 4th on Kessel and that is more than enough to fill that position. Kessel shortens his shifts to give Pasta some time on the 1st line.
That leaves me to believe that DeBrusk is going to be moved for a LD. I believe they are going to shock everyone and land Chychrun.
Remember they just traded for the rights to another LD,
I’d expect that DeBrusk, Senyshyn, and Vaakaninen are part of the package. DeBrusk on an extension of 4x$3.5 would be VERY attractive to a rebuilding team. Vaak was playing 1LD and doing well before his injury. Senyshyn wants out, but has his goal scoring touch back in the AHL (couple Hattie’s and a 2G game the other day).
So, a guy who scored 27 in the NHL, another poorly used guy who could get you 20, and a guy who played 1LD on an ELC looks like a really attractive package to build around. Add a first, and sell it the right way, and Ari could make out like a bandit on that deal.
What is for certain though, DeBrusk is moving and if it’s for a player, it will force some other trades, so the “what if” won’t happen.

If bruins actually wanted Chychrun
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bruinsbeatz</b></div><div>That’s from the Athletic</div></div>
Oh. If the Athletic said it!! Lol. OMG.
CBJ GM said it best “the media makes all sorts of stupid and speculative comments and people believe it.” It’s the problem with the world today. Remember that old telephone relate game where you whisper in 1 persons ear a sentence, they whisper to someone else, and at the end of 15 people, the last person hear a bunch of nonsense.
That said, there is NO WAY the Bruins give that up. Lohrei could actually be close to a JC in a few years. Lysell could be a Pastrnak in a few years. And then 2 more shots at 2 more studs.
In the end, I think every team in the NHL will come to their senses and not give up that much for him, so he won’t be traded.

TDL Stretch
Anaheim is getting DeBrusk who can be a 1:1 Rackell replacement (granted the other wing) and is a controlled asset (RFA), and younger.
For Lindholm they get a Top 4 D (played multiple 1st pairing this season), a D prospect (that has also played in the top pairing in Boston). More than enough for a player they will lose for nothing . The 2nd is for salary cap.
For some reason, I don’t see Chychrun getting the super return people are expecting. Maybe I’m wrong, but this is where I’m starting the conversation with ARI.
Former 1st rounder who has found his game in the AHL. Back to the goal scorer he is but won’t get played because he requested a trade. Grzelyk who is one of the best skating D in the league, and plays top 4, run a powerplay. He’s not JC, but his contract expires just around the time their prospects around going to start needing raises. 2 more seconds, and the 1st is purposely 2024 because the Bruins will be really weak down the middle if/when Bergy retires, so likely a top 10 pick or better.
