Brock Faber is an untouchable for Minnesota. He projects as a right shot brodin. You’d have better luck with lambos or Addison being included.

A 2nd might be fair value for Foligno in a vacuum, but Guerin would never give him up for that. Would take a 1st (maybe +) to get him away from Guerin. Guerin adores that guy.

Zuccarello isn’t waiving his NMC to go to Winnipeg and I doubt the Wild would even consider making a move like this in the division.

2023 TDL v3
I don't like us getting Kapanen. He is inconsistent, more expensive than Greenway and the year left on his deal forces us to lose great players in the summer.
Trading Fleury is also a bit hazard without a goalie coming back, Wallstedt is not ready yet.

TDL 2023 v2
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Upper_Body_Injury</b></div><div>I don't mind both trades but would question on if the Sens would do that, I don't think they have the cap space to resign Dumba even if he was at 3-4mil AAV. I am also not convinced BG would trade Moose....maybe he would for Mitts and I know I have seen some other ACGM post as a one for one swap but who know if it would actually happen. I like the idea though.</div></div>
I feel like Thomson+4th for Dumba is a nice deal for Ottawa. There are questions on if Thomson will ever put it together. This is what Wheeler said about Thomson in his prospect pool rankings article about Ottawa:
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quote:</div>I’m not sure Thomson is ever going to figure it out and put the tools together, but it is easy to forget that this is only the second year of his ELC and he’s still got next season to try to finally work his way into the Sens’ top seven. He looked like he was beginning to put it all together in stretches in the AHL last season, but the consistency just hasn’t been there when he has been asked to play an elevated role at either level.
Thomson plays an aggressive style (on both sides of the puck, with and without it) that comes with some warts and his fair share of mistakes, but he’s a tough, shot-threat, what-you-see-is-what-you-get player who is capable of leading a rush (though his decision making within that can be suspect and he relies more on instinct than processing), has value physically, defends well man-to-man when his timing is on, wins battles along the wall (though his reads do occasionally burn him), plays hard at the front of the net, and has always been more well suited to the North American ice and style. His underlying NHL results are ugly and cast some doubts about whether he’ll become more than a call-up option, but he does have some real pro qualities.</div>
That reminds me of Dumba when he was first breaking into the league. Tons of offense with really questionable defense/decision making.
Zaitsev dump gives them cap space.

Man can dream
-Blues probably keep & re-sign ROR if that's the best offer - a bottom-6 pending UFA, a B-tier prospect who's almost too old to be called one anymore, and a 2nd (assuming you count the 3rd for retention) doesn't feel like the kind of deal I'd want to bring back to the fanbase. Regardless of how you feel about his play, it feels like the Blues are going to want to get overpaid for him and this isn't that.
-Arizona passes. You're asking them to retain $2.25M on Ghost and then take back $4.05M of Dumo, then you're making them wait an extra year for the reward? I'd say you probably need another solid asset in here to keep them on the phone.
-Why would the Wild ask MAF to waive for this? They're getting a career backup that's a pending UFA, plus a guy who'd be on his third "change of scenery", and they're the ones adding a pick? By including Kapanen, the Wild are actually adding $1.5M in cap to their team, plus when have you ever heard of a team downgrading their starting goalie in the middle of a playoff chase? Hard no from the Wild.

Habs Deadline
-Edmonton doesn't have the cap to make this work, you're taking back a deal to even get them to consider giving up a 1st for Eddy.
-Adding the 4th rounder doesn't make up for the value here: Minnesota's giving up a 2nd rounder for a guy with a lengthy injury history who hasn't played since early December, and a waiver-wire pickup in Pitlick. Minnesota passes.
-16 points in 44 GP does not get back a 3rd, even with the retention. Dadonov is the type of player a contender is going to pivot to only after their top 3 or 4 options are off the board - I think that's going to depress his value.
-I could see a team taking a swing on a guy like Wideman who's a perfectly fine 6th/7th D with an extra year of a low cap hit - I just don't know if Boston is the team that would give up an asset, seeing as they how have Anton Stralman and Mike Reilly stashed in the AHL as depth already.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jnowariak</b></div><div>Yeah, not saying Walker will be more than that but a $2 mil player is well within reason, don’t need him to be a superstar.
But the cap situation is absolutely the limiting factor here. You can essentially fit Hartman and Addison into the same cap hit as Bennet and the question is whether those 2 players add more than Bennet solo. I think they produce A LOT more.</div></div>
My dream (emphasis on dream) scenario is the Wild sign Jake Livingstone and Jackson LaCombe (if he doesn’t sign with the Ducks) this spring, get whatever they can for Dumba, and trade Addison in a package to move up in the draft (to target a center), or get an already drafted young center.

If Minny is a seller
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Upper_Body_Injury</b></div><div>Yeah he had a great year last year playing on the top line, but he is not producing like he did last year. His first half of year has been average mainly because he was hurt and was taken off the top line. I definitely think he is going to have a better second half of the season but yeah I could see why other teams would want him but there hasn't been any reports that he is on the block I am sure BG is/would listening to offers and some of the ACGM offers are pretty good but I think teams are going to have to really overpay to pry him away from the Wild. Most teams and ACGMs wont want to give up the assets.</div></div>
Agreed.
The time missed always hurts. And even his slow start, he in on pace for what would be a 40-50 point season - which is still a huge bargain.
Can't see Guerin moving him unless a Grade A centre prospect is coming back, and even that I debate as the Wild compete.
