Vegas Blockbuster
None of these trades are good for anybody besides MTL.
VGK isn’t giving up 3 valuable roster players for Marner.
STL doesn’t want nor need an $11M Tavares.
Kampf just isn’t good and his contract is atrocious.
Utah is going to do something big, not Coyote like.
I love Timmins but why is CHI even interested, they aren’t.

Marner Trade and Blueline Makeover
Not sure if Vegas is gonna do a first. Straight up is probably the deal here but still a good one.
I like the signings, Lindholm on a one year prove it deal could make a lot of sense. If it works for the player then it’s a nice piece for one season and have cap flexibility next summer.
Would try to find a way to find a better goalie to go with woll. Other than that looks good

Vegas isn't lacking offensive players, problem is none of them can stay healthy for the whole season.

They may put up offers, but I don’t think they’ll be eager to beat one another and raise the price. Unless they see that guy as a must have, I just don’t see it.</div></div>
I don’t disagree with that. I’m simply stating as a Detroit fan, if I was in this position I would offer a 2nd and (average prospect in position of need). This is strictly for what it would do for my team. If Vegas saw that as a win, great. If another team offers more…. Enjoy. I’m not trying to get into a compete for it due to your points of leverage.
For the composition of the Wings, I see Roy as a perfect fit. The value he provides is justified to the price tag. Other teams may agree, others disagree. No bidding war necessary. Wouldn’t shock me if it was the only one, wouldn’t shock me if someone over pays.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tjm220</b></div><div>Vegas has six or seven roster spots to fill next season with about $18 million to do it, but that also does not count any RFA that needs to be resigned. That’s assuming they let every UFA walk. They are going to have to do a little salary cap mambo, and I don’t think anyone will be eager to help them.</div></div>
That is fine, in my opinion this is the difference between a guy like Roy and a guy like Fabbri. Fabs is a good player, FO% is great, nearly 20 goals, compete.....but has the injury history (non-existent this year) and is deemed a "dump." Meanwhile his contact is fine as most players this off-season will be overpaid and for long term, whereas he is only sitting at 4M (or 2 if retention) for just next season, limiting the risk. If he gets hurt again, LTIR.
Roy on the other hand is a bargain at 3M, and is secure at that hit for more than one season. That value far exceeds what will be comparably found in FA. In THIS situation, I don't care if it helps Vegas because it ultimately benefits me (speaking as that team).

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tjm220</b></div><div>You’ll have to hope for a bidding war for his services. Personally, I hope no one wants to help you. And frankly, there’s no reason they should. Everyone knows eventually if no one offers anything you like it will force your hand. Kind of like when you had to include Coghlan with Pacioretty to move that contract, and got basically nothing back. The trouble you have is that most teams in the league don’t exactly have a lot of money lying around, and most would need a cash in and cash out kind of deal. I think you may be disappointed with what you actually get back in return for Roy, and what else they will have to do to be cap compliant for next season.</div></div>
Detroit will opt to play for Roy! Start the bid at a 2nd and (name an average prospect at a position of need).

My popcorn is ready. The league needs a villain. A taker on Hill will be difficult. They will have to give him away much like Fleury but Vegas seems not to care about anything other than business. It should not be impossible, correct.

Honestly, I would go as far to say that I’d pay 11th overall or Kulich for him. I think in a bigger role he’d be great. 19 pts inn19 games when eichel was out and a gritty physical center. He’s absolutely worth a first round asset or more. Much better idea than Scott Laughton for Any team imo

Hilariously bad trade for Vegas and even more hilariously bad logic to the trade. Trade Roy for a cheaper option? You sent back a player with the exact same aav but with 2 fewer years of term and 6 years older. Sheesh

Marchessault will get more on the open market, at around the 7mil range. The only reason he would likely be willing to sign that deal is if he is really wanting to stay with Vegas, and is willing to take a discount.
Also, attach a 1st to Chiarot and maybe the Canes consider taking him on.

I hate that of all the Keller mocks that this one is the most likely destination just because Vegas will find some way to make it happen, even if it makes no sense financially
