Vancouver Canucks

I'm guessing they want him more than Kuzmenko.</div></div>
Well obviously. Kuzmenko turns 28 in a couple weeks. Hoglander just turned 23. I don't think Calgary should target any middle 6 players at all though.

What I think will happen
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Vancity2196</b></div><div>Do you realize Vancouver doesn’t want Monahan?</div></div>
Vancouver wants another guy who can play in the top six (and win faceoffs) and doesn't cost a ton in cash or in cost to acquire which Monahan fits that bill for. The only 2 semi cheap options are Ryan Johansen or Sean Monahan neither will have insane cost to acquire. but fitting them in Salary wise will be more difficult to fit Johansen will cost a bit to get another team to eat another 2m of his contract. I figure Allvin isn't going to pay the cost to acquire a Guentzel or a Lindholm so this adds to our team and gets another player who can in theory fit Tocchet's system without costing us Lekkerimaki, Willander, D-Petey, or Brzustuwicz. I don't think Allvin wants to deal Kuzmenko or Myers which would be something we would have to do to go in for the bigger names at the deadline. Monahan for 1st and 6th to retain close to half his contract is fair. I thought Bloom would be interesting and having Kovacevic being a 7th or 8th D-man would be good. but if he is going to cost too much might as well just have Friedman be the 8th (or McWard)

Wennberg ain't worth a 1st. If somehow Monahan gets one Wennberg is not lol. He's comparable to domi trade deadline last year.

No disrespect but he plays wing and center very well.I think this trade would be awesome for us.Just my opinion.

Shocking TDL and Long-Term Deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Vancity2196</b></div><div>Seattle pass.
Jared McCann is not getting traded.</div></div>
This team is almost .500 and is heading into Calgary Flames territory of being a forever 14th ovr pick holder for the next couple years if they keep the depth guys rotation, they have a very promising farm of offensive and defensive pieces that could use a few more pieces. McCann is by far their most valuable and trade-able asset and is at his peak value in my mind. A team like the AVS could definitely overpay quite a bit for him due to their need at 2C and his contract

Habs
If Habs trade Monahan, they will be looking for pick or young players. They are building the team and adding a Kuzmenko isn’t what Hugues have been making business so far.

VCR Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Vancity2196</b></div><div>Do you think the Lindholm would work for both sides?
In your opinion?
I’m just curious to ask 🤔</div></div>
It depends on how February goes for the Flames. If the Flames still find themselves 10th in P% next month, I expect they go the sellers route rather than risk all their UFAs walking for a failed playoff berth.
If that happens, I think this offer would be difficult to beat for another team and I think Calgary would go for it. Look at how much Horvat earned last year after many 30g-60p seasons and pacing at a career-high rate of 0.64 G/GP (52-goal pace). I think this offer of 1st + 2nd + Brz. + Karlsson > 1st + Raty + Beauvillier, and that was with Horvat retained 25%. Even if the Flames want to retool around Huberdeau, Weegar/Andersson, and Markstrom; the 1st, 2nd, and Bruiser give them assets they could move for a young NHLer the same way Ottawa did for DeBrincat or Chychrun.
As for Lindholm, he pretty much fits any team. Top-10 in Selke voting twice (2nd-place finish two seasons ago), plays both special teams, and is a bonafide 1B center in the NHL similar to Kesler 2009-2014. He'd immediately bring back the scoring threat our 2nd line has been lacking since the return of the Lotto Line two weeks ago. Even if you want to take Pettersson back off the Lotto line, having Lindholm just gives you so many more combinations. Plus, the Canucks would have 5 centers to swap between (Miller, Pettersson, Lindholm, Sutter, and Blueger), Lindholm would free up Petey and/or Miller from PK duties (Selke nominated). There are just so many good reasons with Lindholm.

Thy'd be bringing in Brodie to replace him and would save 3.75 mil in cap space. They can also bump up Zadorov to take his spot.

Canucks go with a versatile center
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Vancity2196</b></div><div>If Nashville doesn’t make it to the playoffs then they could trade him to Vancouver, for example.
But Vancouver would use him as a rental not a keeper.</div></div>
If he somehow becomes available he is exactly the kind of player Canucks would try to sign to an extension given his age and profile.
