The Robertson/Otter contracts are bad.
Buying out Oloffson when they just signed him is also a bad look.
No reason to try and move on from Harley, and buying out Kero/Hanley does nothing.
Just a bad offseason all around.

Especially since they just signed Gurianov to a one-year deal.

Dallas looks pretty good despite Benn and Seguins contracts

This is pretty common knowledge to everyone</div></div>
Whether or not the team wins lies entirely on who the Stars brass decide to go with at HC and the rest of the staff. If they can figure out how to get Gurionov to play like he did in the 2020 bubble, this team could finally figure out how to put the puck in a net.

Dallas fans come here
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>justaBoss</b></div><div>Nah, Harley's a LD. They'll look to replace him.
I wouldn't be surprised if Nill looks at veterans like Petry or Burns even though I'm personally against it. Personally my favorite candidate is adding Liljegren via offer sheet, but also options like Bear, Shattenkirk or Walker are something worth considering as long as they don't come too costly. Same applies for signing player like Schultz from free agency.
Ideally the guy Dallas is after is one that can take Klingberg's role as a PP quarterback. Heiskanen can take the PP1 role but PP2 is open for grabs.</div></div>
Honestly, if they're going to give an albatross contract to Klinger after how awful he played this year... I'd rather they let him walk and go hard on the offer sheet for Liljegren.

One Trade And An Offer Sheet
I'm not too keen on giving Holtby a 2-year contract at 1.75m. I'd rather they bring back Wedgewood for less.

Stars
I'd rather the Stars give Robinson a 4-year bridge deal to allow the team to shed salary and the overall salary cap to go up.
I don't think Wedgewood is going to be any higher than 1M AAV. Nor do I see them bringing Radulov or Spezza back.
Klingberg's contract is lower than what he is seeking, so he'll walk if that's the offer he takes. Doesn't seem like he's keen on taking a hometown discount either.

Put Benn and Segs on different lines. Dellandrea, Damiani, Johnston, Bourque… You won’t convince me one won’t be ready to make an impact if put in a position to succeed. If Holtby can stay healthy I’m fine with keeping him but I don’t trust anything we’ve got in the A so I think Wedge is a better bet. I like the Marchment add</div></div>
Wedgewood is going to be the cheaper, better option. Holtby showed signs he could be serviceable, but with his age and injury history... spooky to commit $2m in cap space to him this year when its already tight.
Everything else I can agree with. I'm just curious as to who gets the call up to join the team out of our prospects.

The Benn deal is a non-starter for San Jose... but I'm curious as to why Dallas takes Bishop off LTIR and ships him to Arizona? Seems detrimental to me.

This is why I'm hesitant for the Stars to move Guri this offseason. I'd rather bite the bullet on his trade value after next season to see how he performs in a new system this next season.

They slotted him into Radulov's spot when needed. Considering Radulov is a shell of his former self, Peterson will likely get a good look going forward.

Stars would save money retaining Wedgewood, and probably get more value from a potential Gurianov trade trying to replace Klinger or pursuing another scoring forward.

Focusing on the new core
Gurianov is not going to take a pay cut even though his production has dropped. If they're going to lowball offer it, might as well explore a trade for his RFA rights.

I'd say the Sharks decline on the contract alone. Burns is cheaper, but still more productive than Benn. Also, there no way Benn is going to agree to leave Dallas.
