Best offseason ever or another Tim Murray over-aggressive rebuild ruin
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shibbal18</b></div><div>The Sabres are already better than Detroit and will hang with Ottawa. Boston and Toronto are already falling off. After adding Roberston theyd only be better. Adding Roberston, none of those 1sts are top 10</div></div>
Your goaltending tandem is kinda mid, and your defense outside of Dahlin and Power isn't all the fantastic. Sure adding Robertson makes your team better, but he won't instantly bring playoffs. Also this makes competing in, per say, year 3 of having Robertson, as you need to re sign guys, and if you wanted to add a player at the deadline you don't have firsts to trade. Would it be cool, yes. Is it smart, no. Completing the rebuild the slow way is the way to go, as then more guys will be in their prime, and you might be able to offload a Skinner contract with 3-4 less years on it.

Slafkovsky isnt NHL ready for the moment
In watching Slaf in the prospects challenge, and now for the (2 lmao) preseason games, It seems like he was able to use his size to poke check players in the prospects game, but it doesn't seem to work the same now that he is playing players that have more strength and size he seems to be struggle some bit. He looks really good in the Olympics, so I am surprised at how he is playin now. Fore sure thought he would be able to make the team, or at least show that he is NHL capable, but at this point I would agree he needs more seasoning in the AHL.

Leafs don't have a scoring problem in the regular season, they have a defense problem in the playoffs... adding Kane doesn't get you out of the first round, he's no different than Marner, or Nylander. You can't depend on high scoring wingers to keep scoring at such a high rate in the playoffs, especially when they are smaller, and don't have anyone on the team to protect them, or give them space in the tight checking of the playoffs.

Can't be giving up 4 1sts especially with how good the Atlantic is. If you don't make the playoffs for 2-3 years, considering Detroit, Ottawa, Toronto, Tampa, and Florida are all good and fairly young, the only team that might fall off is Boston in a few seasons, and Montreal is probably behind Buffalo in their rebuild, you can't afford to miss out on 3-4 potentially top 10 firsts.

Opening Lineup
I wouldn't be overly shocked if Freddy was out the start the season, but Greer is not gonna be a 3rd liner. He might check well, and play the true "bruins style" hockey (which I do enjoy watching very much), but I don't see him higher than the 4th line...if that even. His defensive game is kinda messy, and he is often behind the play throwing a hit that isn't needed. His fighting ability is also not that great, we've seen Clifton beat him up when he was on the devils, so to have him in the lineup to stick up for his teammates isn't really all that great. Don't get me wrong I want to see this guy get a shot, but to have him play a full 82 games just doesn't seem like a great idea.

Unless Hamonic has a stellar season (which is possible, but not probable) there's no way someone is gonna pay a 3rd from him. You'll be luck to get a 4th or 5th...

Simply because younger and has a contract. Lindholm was old and expiring deal.

Training Camp Questions
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruinsFan35</b></div><div>I agree with the sentiment that Smith is a more than serviceable third line winger, and is a benefit to have on the ice. That’s true. But the Bruins have logjammed their pipeline at practically every position in the name of attempting to compete for a postseason bid. The result has been stunting the growth of various prospects, who probably are ready for full roles in the NHL but can’t beat out the veterans. Lysell can NOT be ruined in such a manner. If he shows that he’s ready for NHL ice time this camp, then we have to play him. Smith, to me, is the odd man out</div></div>
This is all very true. It has been tough to bring a guy like Stud, or Steen up from the p-bruins and expect them to play the fourth line style when they have been practicing for a more skilled role for so long. I would agree it would be nice to see Lysell (or even Beecher) make the roster full time this season, but with the way this season is shaping up to go along, having the best opportunity to win the cup and have one final run IMO is with a guy like Smith sticking around with the team, (maybe could be seen as kind of "our own rental" kinda thing, where you know it's gonna be his last season with the team regardless) which is probably the way the Bruins actually end up playing it out (because they do dumb things). I too hope to see wags full time again. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Smith is here to stay. Nothing about his play has made him expendable. At the moment he is a valuable piece in trying to win a cup. Lysell is a future piece that I don't foresee them rushing into a spot that is already filled by a talented enough winger.

Idk why Isles fans want Reilly so bad. Tbh, Bruins will give him to you for free, he's really not worth the 3mill he makes. He's a decent player, but all the mistakes he makes result in a A+++++++ chance for the other team.

One last run
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ON3M4N</b></div><div>He has solid metrics but when you look at them relative to the Bruins other d-men, he's about average. One area he ranks below average for Boston though is GF% Rel where he's below average. He does get favorable zone starts and playing with McAvoy (and ultimately Marchand & Bergeron) will inflate a guys metrics though imo. Among Bruins d-men with at least 40 games this year, he has the 2nd highest ozS% at 5v5, so for his metrics to be average is disappointing. For me he's a quality 3rd pairing PMD that you could use on PP2, but certainly not worth $3 million for two more years. I'd rather have the $3 million in cap space vs Reilly lol.</div></div>
Yeah he's a good player...but most of the issues on defense he has give the other teams A+++++ chances. He's very Jake Gardiner like.

To be fair Garlands production totals are very similar to Debrusk's (outside of last szn for DeBrusk), so I don't see how Garland would be worth more than that.
