Re-Evaluate The Evaluator
Best move: The extensions to Chinakhov, Marchenko, Sillinger, and KJ are all surprisingly decent.
Worst move: Lindholm. That's an albatross waiting to happen. The trades aren't much better; very poor value for our guys. (Dumping Texier in favor of Tatar or Mantha in particular really rankles.)
Better or worse: Short-term better, but probably not enough to make much of a move in the standings. Long-term worse because of cap crunch concerns.

Off-season GM scenario - Necas
I would be well and truly amazed if we could pick up Knight and dump Elvis that easily.
Also, I don't think that Lauzon deal is in the Preds' best interests.

Goalies and more
Retaining that much for that long is going to be more than a little troublesome for the Jackets. I'm kind of waffling back and forth as to whether I'd call it okay or not. It's at least a fair attempt at compensation for the retention, so there's that.

I would think/hope we could get a little better than that for Boqvist. That's basically giving him away for a pick three years from now.
EDIT: well, okay, it depends on what round the pick is in, to be sure. Something in my head double-recorded "2027" as "2027 and 7th round" so I flinched.

Figures they'd let Stephenson walk. I wonder who (if anyone) got him. (Heck, if y'all's CBJ manager picked him up at a decent rate, I just might be able to forgive him the trades we've seen so far... ;) )

EDIT: Although that Laine "trade" would also have qualified as an instant reject. G-d in Heaven, hon, this is awful.
EDIT 2: AND retention on Kuraly? I swear to G-d every time I take another look at this thing... I need to close this tab before I see it again.

Retooling
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kato</b></div><div>Don't see any of these deals making much sense. The last thing we need is another offensive minded right shot defenseman.
Trading Pettersson for a bottom pairing replacement and a mid to late first round pick and having Graves playing 20+ minutes a night sounds like a recipe to hand San Jose the first overall pick in 2025.</div></div>
If it helps, they may end up with that regardless on their own merits (or lack thereof). ;)
But yeah, if y'all are wanting to dump Petterson like that, give us a call. It'd make a lot more sense for the Jackets than that silly Boqvist trade.

Fitting Hanifin Part II
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LordStanlersCup</b></div><div>was jeannot this bad in nashville too? If so how did he get that many points?</div></div>
No; he got hot at the right time and his confidence was through the roof. But then the puck stopped going in and he stopped really playing the game that had made him successful and the downhill slide quickly became visible. Some of us were hoping he'd find some way to turn it around, but ever since the trade it only seems to have accelerated, if anything.

As a Preds and Jackets fan, that Jeannot/Texier swap goes into "#### right off" territory for me. Jeannot doesn't have anywhere near the upside Texier does and Texier is a better disruptor of the opposition.

It's a GM game. Whoever was running the CBJ in it also gave away Boqvist <strong>with retention</strong> for a 2025 4th, so I'm not exactly impressed by their competence.

Whoever's running the CBJ in your game did not do a very good job with that deal. IRL Boqvist would cost more than that; he was actually doing pretty well alongside Werenski and on the power play before he got injured yet again. Should be "at least a 2nd, more if you want retention" or thereabouts.

That's an adequate "sell high" on Nylander but I don't think anybody's going to really want to meet that kind of price. Altho if someone does I'll be quite content to be proven wrong. :)

Also not sure Dvorak is worth a second rounder.</div></div>

Normally my response is "you asked for Boone; you already know the answer". But you really went above and beyond the call of duty with this one. That atrocious trash heap of an offer wouldn't get you Future Considerations, let alone a retained Boone Jenner.

San Jose Remake
As anticipated, the Jackets trade has been edited:
<img class="for_img" src="https://i.imgur.com/wIaOc4r.png" alt="wIaOc4r.png">
It's technically an improvement in that we've moved on from "literally impossible" to a mere "that's not good enough". The Jackets do not need depth wingers, and even if we did that package isn't good enough for a top-5 pick.

Um. You literally don't have the assets to get a return like that from the Jackets. Like, there is literally nothing San Jose has or can offer that would make that viable. You could add Will Smith and William Eklund and still be told "no".

Johnny's got an NMC and I think he's pretty determined to stay in the East regardless. And that's kind of a "dump his contract" offer, and while some Jackets fans are already there I don't think the front office is there yet.

Stutzle however is as close to a guaranteed top 3 winger the team is going to get and it gives them assets to move for a more certain RD fit. The only way the Jackets regret this move is if Jiricek turns into a legit yearly Norris contender and I just don't have faith in that with how his skating is and the trend towards faster, more mobile defensemen.</div></div>
I suppose that's fair. I guess I just have more faith in Jiricek than y'all do and that hole has been looming large on my mind for a while now.

That's the thing, tho - top-4 RD is already a need, and taking this deal would make current/future top pairing RD also a need. (And I think KJ is already potentially expendable in the pursuit of that endeavor before acquiring a Stutzle.)
