Based on what? He's had two really bad seasons in a row. A similar performance by Merzlikins has rendered him a pariah.

Rielly Smith is not needed nor wanted by the Jackets, so the only available return from Columbus for him is of the "pay us to take on your cap dump" type.

The Jackets already have a sizeable and high quality prospect pool, so trading down for more picks doesn't fit. Cut out the middleman and give us Konecny instead of the 8th, though, and I bet that'd get folks to listen.

Mock
I mean, it's better than the other "SJ poaches CBJ's 1st by taking on Elvis" proposal; at least in this one we get a 1st back in addition to the replacement meh goalie. But it's still a no-go for the Jackets; we may not have a pressing need for additional major prospects, but that doesn't mean we're giving that pick away cheaply, and we're not quite that desperate to get rid of Elvis.

Apparently the OP is so grumpy about the reception of this AGM that they're now necroing two-year old proposals and mocking them in an attempt to feel better about themselves.

If you look at that poster's history, you may recognize a certain recent AGM about which I expressed Opinions.
I've seen worse and/or more pathetic attempts at punching back, but not by much.

Pittsburgh 24-25 rebuilt
There is a whole lot of absurd nonsense in this thing. Can tell you first and foremost that I don't think y'all have the assets to entice the Jackets to take on Rakell, and that expecting Blankenburg to both be allowed to walk and to sign for so little is rather unlikely.
Beyond that... every single team you're asking for a 1st from would block your number. And if you want to give Petterson away for so little, then feel free to contact Columbus about him; just don't bother with Rakell.

TML 2025
Arguably the closest I've seen to a Jenner-to-TML proposal that might actually work for the Jackets. That said, Liljegren is not the kind of blueliner we need (we need defensively-oriented guys) and Robertson (what with his injuries and being a depth scoring winger) basically has no value here. And we need more glue guys, not less, so giving up two to get one - even though he's an extremely skilled one - could be an issue. Still, it's a fair try.

Think of it this way. Would you trade Tuch for that package? Jenner is de facto untouchable here for reasons very similar to why Tuch is de facto untouchable there.

That Elvis trade definitely works for Columbus; I'd be surprised if Chicago thought it a fit.
Tuch is kind of a non-starter for the Sabres, though; he's in the same "you already know the answer" realm as Jenner is here, for similar reasons.

Take the L and move on, hon. KJ isn't being traded this offseason while he's injured, and we're not moving him for More Futures because we've got plenty of futures depth as is; we need to develop the guys we already have.

fix this mess

Quoting: squashmaple

Other than that trade, this actually isn't bad. You can see OP put at least a little thought into the RFA contracts, which is more than I expect for any non-Jackets fan. But it's hard not to wonder "Jeez, what did we do to you, Caps fan?" about this as a whole.

Dumping Gudbranson with retention (a fundamentally unhelpful move) is just more evidence against, and delaying a return on Provorov for another two years doesn't strike me as particularly good either. Grubauer-for-Elvis is a net loss for the Jackets - we spend more money with the same term on an older goalie with a worse buyout and at best similar numbers. The picks for Laine are about the only nice bit.

The OP's followup of this with a Jackets AGM that includes a similarly atrocious Boone Jenner trade now has me convinced we're dealing with a troll. There's just no conceivable way someone could legitimately in good faith think of such moves as good deals.

What kind of absurd nonsense is that pathetic excuse for a Jackets trade? That wouldn't be considered for anything short of a perrential Vezina contender on a sweetheart deal; expecting Mackenzie Blackwood of all people to carry that kind of value is homerism of the worst possible kind. You should be feeling deeply ashamed for ever even considering posting such garbage.

I'd rather keep Olivier; I think he's been valuable as a glue guy, and that return is no more than what we paid to get him in the first place. I'd also rather keep Laine around for a possible bounceback. And have no interest in either of those UFAs even though they're intended as press box residents. But otherwise this works pretty well.

There's some Jackets fans out there who are convinced Gibson is a better alternative than Elvis. For them, that might be a balanced deal. I'm not one of them, tho, and I think that's a dubious idea for both sides.

Penguins 2024-25 Season
We'd probably want something slightly nicer or a better fit than Puustinen back in that trade - maybe a mid pick - but otherwise that's a basis for Laine I'd strongly consider, given how much we need good defensive blueliners.

Quoting: glarson17

I mean if you can get him for cheap why not roll the dice

You can't. The Jackets do not have any cap pressures, so if you want him we need to be getting back value commesurate with that of a top-line scorer. And we don't need depth pieces, so it'd have to be one or two quality assets. Because otherwise we're far better off just keeping him and hoping for a bounceback post-PAP.
