I wouldn’t do them.
If your intent on trading Vesalainen, which i agree with as he needs a change of scenery, then at least trade him for some value.
I’d try VGK for Nolan Patrick or PHI for Owen Tippett

Reality is that Vesalainen probably won't come back to the Jets. Gustafsson is definitely coming up to the team next year. So you either move Harkins or Vesalainen, because there's still a roster spot available for a Kovacevic, Barron, Heinola, Reichel to fill. Let's say Vesalainen doesn't get a 1 way contract with the Jets, so he decides to go play in Finland again. Jets lose him for nothing. Same as Nathan Smith getting something instead of nothing is a win. I'd say the same scenario might be in store for Gawanke. Does he want another $70 000 season, does he get a raise from the Jets, at least double the AHL salary? I'd be more inclined to keep him, because he's been good with Chisholm, but with Tyrel Bauer coming into the lineup next year somebody has to move off the Moose, if Kovacevic goes up, fine, but then that's 23 players then, and which of the other ones would Vesalainen knock off? None, in my opinion. Time to move on, call a bust a bust. I don't think his skating is good enough, and I definitely don't think he has anywhere near the value of Patrick or Tippett, I'm sorry. I edited this post anyways cancelling the Gawanke trade, but moving Dillon instead, to build up picks in the system. And to give room to Heinola to move up to the #8 spot on the depth chart.. Signed a tougher player for the bottom lines than Vesalainen, which I think might be something Chevy looks at.

Thread: Rebuild

Quoting: Mr_Canoehead

Blackhawks: I can't see them doing that trade, as the new Chicago GM wants to rebuild the team. The term of Wheeler and Schmidt don't fit that view and Toews only has one year left on his contract after this one.

Senators: Jets decline, with Cheveldayoff telling LeBrun, "I spent a long time trying to get top-two centremen like we have right now with Scheif and (Pierre-Luc) Dubois. That’s a real tough combination when we’re going well to play against"

Flyers: Jets decline. No chance the Jets have any chance of making the playoffs in the near term without Hellebuyck.

Blue Jackets: Not sure what the thought process is behind that trade idea.

Maple Leafs: Jets decline. No need to move Berdin, let him continue to develop on the Moose.

Jets problem is they are 2 years away from losing several core players (Scheifele, Hellebuyck, Wheeler, De Melo). The injury excuse is valid for the team's struggles this year, but they have been struggling from mediocrity (the minuses behind Scheifele and Wheeler's stat line, and Hellebuyck has leveled off this year) for some time. Another year of medicority pushes the team to trading players whose value could further depreciate. At this point with the investment that was made this year I think this team needs a shakeup. Dubois is ready to take over the reigns as #1 C, and I don't think Scheifele is ready to become second fiddle, so unless you make him a winger on the top line, I think it's time to change things up. I don't think the changes will be this drastic, True North has only traded when forced to, but I do think this team needs some fresh young legs to make them as exciting as they were in 2017-2018
