Going for the Cup with Horvat Schenn
I'd think Vancouver would likely pass on this. They'd probably want a 1st from this year as a starting point. Besides, I don't want Dallas to give up young guys like Bourque or Kyrou for rentals.

Dallas Stars signed Joe Pavelski (1 Year / $5,500,000 AAV)
Great value for what he brings. Great team guy too. I have loved having him on the Stars. I was skeptical of what he could bring after his first year which was a disappointment but ever since the run to the final in 2020 he's been unstoppable.

Trading 3 blue chip prospects and 1st for a 32 year old who has a notorious history of injuries and a mammoth contract that doesn't end until he's nearly 40 doesn't sound like an awesome deal to me. He's playing well now (he might even win the Norris) but there's no guarantee how he plays next year or the year after, etc.

That Karlsson trade is so bad for Dallas. If he was a pending UFA I might considering it but there's no way Dallas can take on that contract even with retention which SJ would absolutely not do.

Leafs and Stars
I don't see this trade benefitting Toronto at all. From a Stars perspective I'm all for it. If Nick could turn out to be even half as good as Jason this would go down as an all time steal. Delly has played super well this year but he's a 3rd liner at best, Robertson has superstar potential.

Sheary would be an interesting fit on the Stars. Not sure I'd want to part with a 2nd but could work something out.

Can't speak for other Caps fans but I'd 100% do that trade. Washington desperately needs a good LD prospect.

Not saying the value is wrong but there's no way Dallas trades Stankoven for a pure rental.

If that Kerfoot trade was proposed in the off-season I would have gave it serious thought but I like what Kiviranta has brought to the team this year and I don't see Kerfoot thriving in the same position on the 4th line.

I don't really see Henrique being a legit top 6 F. As a 3rd C he's great but not really the guy I see Dallas going for.

I totally agree but I heard something about Dallas looking for someone to play with Seguin and Marchment. Konecny would be my first choice easily.

Dallas Stars signed Roope Hintz (8 Years / $8,450,000 AAV)
There's a lot of really ignorant comments both on here and on Twitter of people who have clearly never seen him play.
Hintz is so very important to Dallas. It isn't even just the goals and points, he's a fast as hell skater and plays a 200ft game. He kills penalties, blocks shots, takes the body.
If he played in a bigger market people would not be saying the things they're saying. This contract is not a steal but it's far from an overpay. I hate to take a shot at other team's players but look at what Barzal got, look at what Marner makes and tell me how this is an overpay.

No way is Dallas trading Robertson and there's even less of a chance they trade him to their most hated rival and further more that package is awful.

I'm okay with this. Is it an overpay? Yes. But if Lundkvist is as good as he's been hyped up to be this could work out well for Dallas.

No Faksa? That would be a dream.
I think out of Johnston, Stankoven, Bourque and Dellandrea only two are going to have a legit chance to play. My guess is Johnston and Stankoven but Dellandrea did have a pretty nice season in the minors last year so... who knows?

I agree with waiving Kiviranta. Besides the famous hat trick, there is not a lot to see here.</div></div>
You're probably right about Oettinger getting $4m. I don't think he's worth that right now but it's likely what he'll get. I didn't know what Khudobin was going to do, I thought he was still nursing an injury. But if he doesn't hit LTIR he'll be in the minors for sure, I don't see him besting Wedgewood for the backup spot.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TZ11</b></div><div>Nemec isn't dropping to 9. He'll be gone by 6, GMs should take him prior to that. He's a Top 3 player in the draft class. No one should take Kemell or Lekkerimäki ahead of him.
Geekie at 16 is far from a steal, that's a reach.
A healthy Miroshnichenko would not easily be in the Top 10 or even Top 5. He would be Top 20 if he were 100% healthy.</div></div>
1. Someone is almost certainly going to drop and I picked Nemec. I just don't see any other team from 5-8 taking him besides Philly and it's looking like Gauthier is the guy they're after. I agree Nemec should go higher but someone always goes lower than projected.
2. Geekie has been projected as a top 10 for most of the year and it's only been recently that he's dropped out of the top 10. I doubt he goes any lower than 16.
3. Miroshnichenko, before his diagnosis, was projected in the top 5. He's an easy top 10. No way, if he was 100% healthy, does he go any lower than 10.
