All 3 of those FA signings have term that would make any GM runaway - way too long for all 3 of those guys given their history. For Kane, 4x$5M is such a heavy set of handcuffs given his age and what seems to be a dramatic decline. Why would the Leafs do this to themselves?!?

Offseason
As a Leafs fan, I can honestly say that there's no way Carolina accepts that deal. Jarvis is about to breakout and Pesce is one of their top D. The FA signings are okay - not sure what Kane is actually 'worth' at this point and honestly would prefer to see a 1 or 2 year deal - definitely not 3 for that guy!

Our goaltending with these moves becomes an even bigger mess! Leafs will be buying our Murray and re-signing Sammy for a short-term deal around ~$3.5M, or swinging big for Helly or breaking the bank for Adin Hill. Varalmov will not be part of the discussion.
Noel A. is getting more $$ than that, and we tried the Foligno experiment before - we won't go there again. I'd rather get Perry....and I hate Perry. Pretty sure Laffy will be the 4RW b/c of his speed.
Also not sure why we'd give up so quickly on Timmins and reduce our D-depth to get another ex-Leaf 4LW when we can get someone better as a FA or bring up McMann who deserves a shot at this point.

Big splash
$3M on goons is not a great use of the Leafs cap space & I'm not a fan of that trade with the Jackets. I wouldn't touch Reaves, and I think we missed our window with Perry who should have been signed 3 years ago instead of Simmonds, but I'm okay with Lucic for a $1M or less. I like Soucy, but think he could go for more. What's the point of getting Alex Nylander?!? And Zucker at $5M is too much, while Domi will get more than $3M. Buying out Brodie is a wasted asset - he is a top-4 consistently!

Arizona deal only works if Leafs include Matthews, Marner and the beating heart of Larry Tanenbaum as the official human sacrifice.

Ready to Kill - Part 4 - The End of Mitch
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gaz</b></div><div>Jarvis is playing RW on the top line already with Aho and he's only going to continue to improve his point totals (21 years old) as he develops and gets stronger. The Canes were unwilling to trade him in conversations for M. Tkachuk and T. Meier in the past year so in terms of style of play, I don't think Marner moves the needle more for Carolina than either of those two other players. Marner and Necas play similar styles, though Marner is more developed and well rounded while Necas is still trying to develop into his full potential, though he made big strides this season.</div></div>
So does the trade work if you swap Necas for Jarvis, but keep the other pieces the same?

So basically we give the Caps our right-side (and future, in large respect) for 2 players entering/already in their twilight? This is one of the worst trades I've seen yet...

No one seems to 'value' their players at a fair level - if you don't think this is in the ballpark, I'd like to know (earnestly) what you think Marner can fetch from the Canes?

Remember - this isn't 'real' - Willy loves Arizona and agrees to sign there for an 8 year max contract. Also - Cooley decided to go back to school (again) for a reason - he's not signing with the Yotes - not ever...this part is real!

Agreed - Willy would need to re-up long term with them. No - it doesn't clear him off the books, but no way Leafs trade assets to get rid of him and no team is going to do the Leafs any favours!

I don't care who we trade him to - pick a team and make it a 2nd-4th round pick - someone would take him for a bag a puck's - he's just not worth the spot on the team or the cap hit.

I meant taking on Murray's albatross of a contract - they have a ton of cap space - but that's a waste. If I'm TO I'm buying out Murray, and if I'm trading Willy to the Canes it's for a top-6 forwards (Necas or Tera) and a D - not another forward, especially since we have some Marlies (McMann) who deserve a chance on L4 next year.

New Core Player
I think the 3rd line is inherently flawed here - Calle as your centre is going to mean a lot of lost puck possession and I think that line gets buried in their own end; love Brown - I think he could be had for well under $2M at this point; L2 is also suspect - not sure how much Zucker has left in the tank and he seems slow - I'd be concerned that this line gets hemmed in as well. I like Soucy, but the inexperience on D3 would get us killed + no toughness...anywhere...we actually become a softer team.

Offseason 4
Sorry, I'm not liking the 2nd or 3rd lines with this make-up - I think the JT line gets ripped apart defensively, 3rd line - I wouldn't touch Toews - declining and slow + if Knies isn't in your top 6, you're wasting him - he'll be on L2 before Robertson will be + Calle should be jettisoned in my opinion - underwhelming player.

Sammy needs at least another $1-$1.5M on that signing; Trading Murray with any assets is a waste - he'll either be LTIR or bought out.

Realistic Leafs
Some of these additions (Lucic) make the Leafs even slower - not a good idea; Miller's contract is not going to age well - like not at all - I'd rather have Willy back for 7 more years at the same price point, unless Vancouver eats ~30% of his contract.

Another Matthews Trade
If you're trading AM34, you've got to get more than this; most of your UFA signings are for much less than what the open market will demand - for instance - no way Noel comes back for $1.25M; Sean M. is a risk I'm not sure the Leafs can afford to take next year; Knies on the 4th line is a waste - we already saw that this year in the few games he played; Murray will be bought out - book it!

Always Next Year
Most of the UFA's you've listed will demand much higher salaries; Dumba is not what the Leafs need; Leafs lose that Washington trade IMO. Willy just put up 40 goals and was the Leafs best forward in the playoffs. Wilson is a declining player and will continue to be hampered by injuries. No thanks.
