If they have a handshake agreement, why throw away a 5th. Makes me think they wanna discuss early and not that they have something done.

I am LOOSING MY MIND RIGHT NOW! He trades AWAY Dominik Kahun for Connor FREAKING FALL DOWN Sheary and Evan Rodriguez and NOW BOTH are gone as is Kahun which played SOOO well and has so much upside AND on top of this he trades away OUR 15th OVERALL first round pick of this years STACKED DRAFT for a player who we drafted YEARS AGO!!!
What the freaking heck!!!

You overrate Vasy. He's a good goalie, but Lehner is better, Rask is better, Helle is better etc etc. He's a major product of his defence, which really would only make him better in Carolina. He's overpaid.

Gaudreau
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMs</b></div><div>I hate this comment, ‘’ they are better served long-term ... ‘’ Gaudreau makes them better right away, and big time. The question is : does he fits ? They didn’t trade all their prospect, they lose 2 excellent ones, but they get a top LW in the league</div></div>
Trading for Gaudreau basically makes Colorado's window a 2 year window, as after that they would lose 2/3 of their 2nd line (Gaudreau and Kadri) to UFA, with no replacement. They'd also have no one to replace Johnson as the 2nd pair RHD either. But by keeping Newhook and Timmins they have a perfect succession plan at every position that can allow the team to be a contender for 5+ years instead of just 2. There should also be better ways of acquiring a top 6 forward this offseason due to the flat cap than to trade three grade A assets.
As for Gaudreau, Avs got to see first-hand how easy it is to design a gameplan around stopping Gaudreau in the playoffs. Pass.

Draft Idea
As fun as it would be for the fans, players would never agree to play a tournament for a reward they don't care about. Not only risking injury for nothing, but spending time away from family and friends

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WellIDK</b></div><div>Sens shouldn't draft Drysdale. They used a 1st rd pick on a defenseman in 2018 and 2019, and a 2nd rd pick in 2018 as well. They need some high caliber offensive talent and with two top 5 picks, they probably never get a chance as big as during the upcoming draft</div></div>
Agreed, i would even want them to take 4 forwards with their first 4 selections. Imagine coming out of this draft with Byfield, Raymond, Mercer and Foerster

Doesn't that feel like a steep contract for Tierney? For some reason it does. He is a solid faceoff guy, and if he's good for 45+ points I guess it works.
+ I agree with <a href="/users/WellIDK" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@WellIDK</a> above: OTT should take a swing on two forwards with those top picks. Can always chase a Dman with the NYI 1st rounder later in the draft and still get a guy with high potential.

Anthony Cirelli is already miles better then what Casey Mittelstadt will ever be, No way Tampa takes that offer. Only way Cirelli leaves Tampa is through an offer sheet that Brisebois obviously can't match.

Also I think I'd keep Cole. I doubt Byram will be in the NHL immediately and maybe he needs the entire next season to adjust. Avs got the capspace to keep Cole and he'd still be useful on the 3rd pair or as a #7D</div></div>
i set the cap at the midway point between the cap and floor just to see if i could build a team with that. couldn't keep cole.

No move for defense on TDL playoff roster - just Ceci out and backup in
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SammyT_51</b></div><div>Thats a pretty good defense. our issue against bruins was getting the pucks out on both sides equally great (Boston scored a lot from our right side (no **** they had Hainsey and Zaitsev most of the time there..).</div></div>
And this year it will be Barry and Holl.
Sry, i read quite a few of your Team Explanations and agreed with you in most of times, but if you think this D is sufficient to even make the Playoffs.....im not. Maybe im biased cause being between pipes for 25 years, so im looking on the thing from that perspective mostly but that D wouldnt give me confidence.
Even better Backup wont help unless you stop shooting exercises by opponent Teams and breakaways that current "Keefe Wizardy" is creating with kamikaze rushing ahead....
2019 /2020 D description
Rielly - two-way winger playing D
Barrie - two-way winger playing D
Dermott - No.5 D man with the upside to become bottom of the pool of No.4 D ( will demand 2,5M + )
Holl - No.5 D man ( 2M ???!!! )
Sandin - kid is on the good way to become top of the pool No.3 D, still his upside is offensive game and not the game in his own end
and finally the Old Man Muzzin ( No.2 D middle of the pool ) playing D almost all by himself with what i mean he does the things in his own zone that Ds should and play, he looks weared off? ofc he does, double shifts and working D things out without a puck takes its toll.....
yet now it shows, despite we b.tched about him all those years, how many work Hainsey was doing to make Rielly look decent as D
2018 / 2019 comparison
Rielly = Rielly
Gardiner = Barrie
Zaitsev > Holl
Hainsey > Ceci.............working his ass off to cover the flaws of Wingers playing as D, ofc his age and fatigue couldnt sustain double work on ice....
Dermott = Dermott
and ofc half of the Season working horse Muzzin again.....

Exactly, the Habs would have to give up a package close to the one given up by Philly in the Eric Lindros trade and that's not even worth it.

Which team says no
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WellIDK</b></div><div>Not sure about the CBJ trade, think it looks fine but I don't know how they value Savard. But the Pens will decline, even though the value is really good for them. Hutch is just terrible and adding him would mean that they have no contract spots anymore. So take Hutch out, Pens would easily accept. They probably would be willing to add a pick</div></div>
