Oh god, you're all idiots. YYC, you're a clown, people have their opinions they are right, wrong, left field, right field, whatever, no need to announce that you are blocking people, these guys just seem like kids who are all in on the Flames, move along you cranky dick.
LD and Gmon you guys post on a website of fake hockey **** over 20 times a day and are generally not helpful at all, Gmon deleted a post yesterday after he was told he's an idiot, you're both clowns that need to find hobbies. This website sucks for Flames fans as the fan base is a joke here, 3 days on it was far too long.,

Why swap out a core that is young and seems to be trending in the right direction for two overpaid pieces, one aging, one not performing that have won nothing more than the Flames core?

I don't love moving Andersson, Miller can fill the spot but no guarantee that he signs again and then Tanev is your only good natural RH d man.
I'm shocked that you don't have Flames fans on this website clamoring that Kylington could play all three spots on the right side as he seems to be the next coming of Lidstrom to people on here.

Arvidsson was my favourite Monahan target, hated to see him go for a reasonable price to the Pacific division!

Could see a hold out, could see a QO accepted for one year, could see him and Johnny sign matching value contracts, such a wild card going forward. He's lined up with Gaudreau and Lindholm right now but he is losing some minutes to Mangiapane either way he's on the Flames roster next year for around 9 million which at this pace is too much.

I don't disagree. All hypothetical obviously, if I was in his head though and kept getting strapped to Trevor Lewis and Milan Lucic, I wouldn't mind going to a rebuilding team for two years to ride out my contract. Another reason that I think his value has taken a hit. Contenders can't afford him, rebuilders will lose him in two seasons.

Ohh, I think we will disagree. At this point any of those guys above help the top 9 more than Monahan is now, if the Flames are going to re sign Gaudreau and Tkachuk getting Monahan off the books is a big help and clears the way for Zary, Pelletier etc to play in the top nine instead of a meat head role if they get a shot over the next two years.
I love Monahan but to say that he goes in a Hertl or Eichel deal as a key piece is seeing the world through rose coloured glasses for a Flames fan.

Super interesting, I have him at the bottom there just cause I don't see an easy path to re signing current Flames if they bring him in, during his contract the Flames would potentially have to give pay raises to most of that roster including, Lindholm, Hanifin, Tkachuk, Gaudreau, Mangiapane, Dube, Andersson, Valimaki etc.
I really like to target and the fit in Calgary would be something else to watch with him and Tkachuk playing in the top six but the financials get super messy.

I'm curious about the Pelletier Zary thing if you have a source to that I would love to read it, I find that fascinating
Meehh, market is dwindling a bit, not long until there is a grievance, then at that point a trade doesn't really make sense until at least the draft next year. I think teams would rather hold out for a price they can manage as opposed to blowing the system or roster to get a guy that won't play any time soon.

Oh no way, when in the Sabres camp say they prefer Pelletier? I haven't heard that yet, definitely an interesting development. If I'm the Flames I would way rather send Pelletier, done and done.
Zadorov makes the cap work and Senyshyn could be an upgraded prospect at this point nothing going to Buffalo is negative, a captain that won't play for the Sabres is more negative than anything.

Much needed moves
Rielly would come into an already busy LD position, he's taking away from one of Kylington or Valimaki who in a year where no one really expects the Flames to compete doesn't make any sense at all. Then to send Mangiapane in a deal when he is an expiring RFA and should sign a long term deal for a UFA that likely doesn't sign in Calgary makes even less than zero sense.
I'm curious to know why you think it would be a good fit for Calgary?

I think the Flames try do that without Dube involved, it also sounds like Buffalo wants to lean towards more futures, ie. Zary, Pelletier, Corronato

Tarasenko is great until he isn't. This would be a decent package for Tkachuk if Tarasenko came with the guarantee that his body holds up, with that being impossible I just couldn't see the deal above happening.

While I like Marchessault, Schmaltz does not improve the team to a contender</div></div>
I've seen enough to know that he can skate much better than Monahan. His underlying numbers are also better. Monahan without Gaudreau has been dreadful, getting him off the roster and ensuring that Gaudreau is not strapped to him would be worth it alone. We are going to agree to disagree here.

Cheaper, cost controlled for 5 more seasons with Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Mangiapane needing contracts, right shot, better 200 foot player, can skate well enough that he doesn't drag a line. I take Schmaltz 10 out of 10 times over Monahan right now and going forward.
