Boqvist is hitting that sophmore slump. Still hasn't played a full season and has regressed considerably. Kind of hard to like the trade when he isn't performing on a team like the Devils. I don't hate it but I'm on the fence.

Problem is Toronto has a few players that someone in the league would want. No one is interested in the rest. Yet your fan base seems to spit out these ROR trades every hour and expect Blues to just give you a thumbs up for a bunch of nothing.

Gimme a break man.
If sellers have all the leverage set the price at four 1st rounders for ROR; ridiculous statement.
And there are other options (players available) and limited buyers; half the league is not actively interested in an ROR trade. Maybe half dozen, if even.</div></div>

No one is saying ROR is worth 4 1sts. StrawMan much? We are saying that a 1st, dead cap in Kerfoot isn't cutting it

Pierre LeBrun on ROR and Leafs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RipNasty</b></div><div>All that is true but what just blows my mind is how all these people seem to think Kerfoot costs the Leafs to move. Why? Because he has a contract and TO needs to move him out to make room for a better player so that means we have to pay to move him. Except every time a player with value is moved he brings back value. Sure Patches was moved for essentially nothing but he has some pretty big term remaining and getting out from under that term had a cost. Kerfoot is A) worth his contract and B) a pending FA meaning he is an easy rental move. St Louis would get another player they can do exactly what they are doing with ROR. Send him out for assets. They would have a better grasp on the deadline market anyways. To think they just won't want Kerfoot because they don't want to take back cap is ridiculous, they will take cap back and it is better for them to do so with a moveable asset. Sure beats taking back a worse contract they won't be able to move. That won't get them more assets it gets them a bad deal that limits what they can do in the off season. It's pretty simple.</div></div>
Because Kerfoot has almost no value for the Blues. They'd need to flip him. The only reason this gets tossed in every Toronto trade for ROR is because you don't want to move any of your top 5 players while St. Louis is giving up arguably the best player on their team.

He wins a Selke, Conn Smyte, Stanley Cup all in the same year and you want to throw this garbage at him? When Almost half of the league's scouts show up to watch him play, you can toss out the argument about "the sellers don't have all the leverage"

Severson and Johnsson have zero value thought. They are ufa's the Blues wouldn't sign so you are ultimately just forcing St. Louis to eat 7.5 mill which makes no sense. To me, Kyrou and Bratt are arguably the same player. Would you give up Bratt for a late 1st, 7.5 mill in dead cap for Barbashev?

This type of deal would maybe go through if the Leafs weren't adding so much, ROR was a few years younger, an extension was in place, and this puts them within reach of the cup. Seeing as none of these are true this is a lopsided trade

But the reality is you know deep down he's not worth a 2nd, and you'd rather just move him. Ask for a 3rd and you *might* get it, ask for a 2nd and teams are hanging up the phone.
Last, but certainly not least, Bo Horvat is <strong>not worth the most recent second overall pick</strong></div></div>
So..... You're saying there's a chance on the Schenn trade? :p

I'm pointing out that there a multiple big name center rentals available this year, and the same can't be said for RHD.
Are you really going to cite a trade from 4 years ago, as if that's going to be an indicator on return this season? The league is not in the same place now as it was then.</div></div>
Not your ACGM? You repost it and don't want any criticism?
In your own wisdom, if RHD are less common than C's, how uncommon are Selke, Conn Smythe, and cup winners?
Today I learned that 4 years is forever ago but today with absolutely no metrics to go off of are the standard

you want half retention and your still throwing Appleton into the deal who is dead weight? so a 2nd and a former for for ROR at 3 mill? F Stastny went for a 1st, 3rd and 4th and he was no where near ROR.
